Today I wanted to do a little unboxing on a dropper post that I have been excited to see. The Rainier Gen 3 dropper post from PNW has the MOST amount on the market for a 27.2 diameter. This is super cool because the 27.2 seat post diameter doesn't get a lot of attention in the dropper market since it is more relegated to an XC mountain bike or a gravel/cyclocross bike.

Cam, I’m a follower of your channel and love the content you bring. I have a question.
I have been an amateur Enduro racer for sometime. I am switching this year to XC racing due to It’s a little safer as I age. I’m currently thinking about buying a Giant Anthem. As you know, they do not come with a dropper post. I want a dropper post. Do you have any helpful buying tips for including a dropper because the anthem also has a lockout. What about the Bluetooth dropper post? Just something I’m reading on. Any help you can provide me is much appreciated.

It's actually a 2018 anthem. I'm still rocking the oiz for the race season but the seatpost is bigger so I can't use the 27.2 dropper on it. I never thought I needed one until I did that wilson's ride😂😅

Hi Mossie, due to another video you posted for the Giant anthem advance pro 1 2021, I got that bike and I have been very happy with it but after some some months of use I realized that the only missing thing for that bike was a dropper post, i want to install one and i fall again in your channel for this pnw thing. I noticed you install it in a giant anthem and the question for you is if I would need to remove the bottom bearing to route the cable or I can do it without doing that and if so how do you suggest to do it. By the way, the anthem goes fine in the mud with that black matte color. So far no scratches or color fading. Thanks
How noticable is the sound the dropper makes when fully extended?
I have a KS LEV Integra 272, which makes a pretty clear noise, so you know it's fully extended.
However I also have a new TranzX post, that barely makes any sound at full extension, which really made it hard to use quickly as I had no idea how far the post had already extended.
Is that an issue on the PNW Rainier or Coast dropper or do they make noticable noises?
It’s not as loud as a dropper like the Fox Transfer, but it’s definitely noticeable
How does it compare to the Giant dropper. The one from my Trance X29 2 works well for me. No issues at all. Just curious.
Both use the same internal piston more or less. The build quality is definitely better on the PNW. It hasn't gotten that side to side slop that some of the giant droppers seem to get. The Giant droppers have always worked well for me as long as you do the rebuild periodically

Do you Think this dropper will fit into my Anthem 1 size Medium. I want so bez 125 travel, but dont know it will fit.
As long as the Anthem uses a 27.2 seat post it will fit no problem. I would just make sure whatever you typically run your seatpost height at will work with the length of the dropper you want to run.
