I was there!! When the show ended I said to a guy next to me "that was fuh king AWESOME" and he said it's definitely in the top 5 Phish shows he ever been to and he's been to over a hundred. It was only like my 15th and while Camden 2009 will always be the best, this was a damn close 2nd.
@@sonic708 wow really? The reason I prefer Camden 09 is because the setlist was beyond amazing and because I didn't even plan to go, my friend who got me into Phish woke me up that day and wanted to me go and said he had a car and enough for gas and tickets but he really didn't have enough so we had to hustle these shrooms I had and even ate some and had enough for tickets and beers and xannies and other goodies. The show was amazing because it was the comeback show. We were still relatively young. Brandon died a few years later. The 2022 night 1 of AC show was awesome but I was there alone. Not the same.
I've thrown around a good deal of praise for this tour so far...but this jam plus set 2 is quite simply some of the very best PH I've seen in 128 shows. Show of the tour, second set is one of the best sets of the last 20 years. I know how that sounds...but just listen to it.
I only been to like 17 Phish shows but hearing so many like you say this was one of the best ever makes me so happy. As soon as this show ended I felt surreal. I couldn't believe I'd just experienced such an amazing show and still had 2 more nights ahead!! (And they didn't disappoint).
Phish a genuine collective refusing to be caricatures of a nostalgia act. Even through years of the road, years of our world's chaos and their own wealth that could allow them to not try and create but only impersonate themselves for praise. The ability to still approach the experiment and put themselves on review. They take chance's for the magic we all love to be apart of as it builds constantly along tours. An excitement in our community, as they travel coast to coast. gaining new fans and bringing a child like Christmas morning glee to so many of us along the way. So Delightful, I can't wait to see a few shows it's been a long minute. Great Seeing the nice guy comments without the toxic, troll, hate. Glowing and Building the positive energy, while thankfully Phish just keeps experimenting pushing the envelope and fine tuning their magic. Smiles and love to all
That was beautiful. Phish live is an experience. I saw them in Camden in 2009 reunion tour and the setlist was amazing. This first night in AC was damn close. I will keep pursuing Phish shows in search of "the perfect setlist" much like a surfer in search of "the perfect wave".
The degree to which "positive energy" becomes (or tempts) denial is the degree to which you're incapable of changing anything. You can't vibe your way out of something you pretend isn't there, or put in a closet of "toxicity," never to be addressed. Good luck.
They just have an eternal, insatiable drive to fucking play music together. They simply are just the greatest band that has ever existed. The reasons as to why are prevalent in every show.
One of the shows of the year. It's remarkable nearly 40 years in they can still do it at this level. Maybe not the huge peaks of the jams from past years, but the mid tempo stuff is super pleasing and as a band they are as locked in as ever. The whole second set was a smoke show too. Only got to this one of the 3 AC shows and happy I did.
The fog has just lifted revealing the gray Hills that are rolling, rolling away Bird songs invoking an echo of home Sigma Oasis is waiting alone A stone in the harbor, a ripple at sea A breeze in the parlor, the bend of your knee The water train lurches and floats off the track Sigma Oasis is calling us back So take off, take off, take off your mask The fear's an illusion, so don't even ask You're finally weightless, so take to the air Sigma Oasis, you're already there It's always a search or a hunt from the start Seeking a memory dear to the heart You're finally weightless, so take to the sky Sigma Oasis goes sailing on by Take off, take off, take off your mask The fear's an illusion, so don't even ask You're finally weightless, so take to the air Sigma Oasis, you're already there You're already there You're already there Our ligaments falter, we scatter like art In furrows assemble what tides pulled apart The work on the bone fragment jigsaw may cease Sigma Oasis holds the last piece Sigma Oasis, adrift on a breeze A waterlogged train, traversing the seas Sigma Oasis alone on a beach Protecting a castle the tides never reached Am I protecting or breaking an oath For Sigma Oasis, it's neither and both You're finally weightless, so take to the air Sigma Oasis, you're already there You're already there You're already there You're already there You're already there You're already there
I love this song and LOVE how they are ripping it consistently all tour. Started with 5/28 (still my fav jam version) but woof its bringing the heat every time. Amazing to see a band at this stage so dedicated to continue evolving. Not to mention creating new material that is actually really good imo
It's as if every time I see Phish, it's their best, and that's simply why I've come to love these fellow Artists. They constantly stay in the now, which cannot be said for most that just plainly exist. Phish4.20π
Everyone is entitled to their opinions about this song. Me personally, I really appreciate & enjoyed it live last summer @ Merriweather Post Pavillion. It had been 15 years since I'd seen them live and I was totally blown away by their level of musical adeptness and professional commitment of their craft. Kudos 👏. Looking forward to spending more time with all of you 2023 and beyond! I appreciate every moment of our ( the Band and fans) times together. What a privilege & blessing For all of us.
They’re really hitting their stride to close out the summer, this is as mind blowing of a jam as I’ve heard them play. On that telepathic shit that no other band can do!! Bummed they’re not hitting the west coast this year.
Just like with Everything's Right songs take time to develop. "The jam band way" We're seeing the power and potential this tune has.. There's as much to look forward to as ever. See ya at Dicks. 🐟🔥🐠🔥🐟🔥🐠🔥🐟
"Where the Hood At" tease from Page at 6:58 A subliminal question for the band or is Page just keeping it G? I actually don't know lol was there a Harry Hood at this show Alternative theory: it's just a cool melody and he wasn't thinking about it, this is most likely true but I like the other possibilities better
This comment plays in my head like every 3 months, I finally felt the need to reply lol. They do indeed close set 2 with a Hood... I choose to believe Page was responsible
Really just not as special as they should be....seems watered down and nothing really memorable. Personally I'm wayyyy too into the Dead to think this is crazy incredible, or hard to play. They gotta ditch the talk-singing, literally no words and straight instrumental would be something different and worth it. STS9 type arrangement would bring in a different flavor and ya wouldn't have to skip 4 min. Into every song to get to the juicy spotz lol
I love fish this song however I hate it I think it sucks I never push play I don't ever listen to it it's that bad Trey what the heck were you thinking this song sucks Rastafari Tucson Arizona Sonoran Desert this song sucks kindergarten could write a better song than this
Sigma > Set 2 was some of the best phish I have ever seen
The whole show for me. Pure magic
Yes, yes it was...

I was at Camden 09 and ac 2022, and AC laps it by a mile.

Completely agree. I'm an old 1.0 head, seen 90 shows in 30 years and that 2nd set Friday night is easily in my top 5 all time
I 100 percent agree with you. Easily
I was on the front rail this and you are correct, sir. So great.
I was here. it was the best of all three nights. maybe the best show I've seen

Brilliantly worded.

This is one of the thousands of reasons they are the greatest band of all time

This night was one the best shows I have ever seen them do live. AC Beach is a great venue too!
This is some of the best phish I've ever seen. The jam is the best of summer imo but I bet they'll surprise us again and I can't wait!
I love this song and LOVE how they are ripping it consistently all tour. Started with 5/28 (still my fav jam version) but woof its bringing the heat every time. Good one at Hartford

14:45 looove that tempo change

That Sigma callin me back for another listen, and the bangin light show to go with it, good stuff fellas. Thx for posting this .
Jesus, if I ever felt special being a couch surfer, this is the moment I do. Thank you Phish.
Whole jam bananas but 14:40 sneaks in and BOOM ! I love this band!! 🙏🏼
I also pointed this out was rolling pretty hard at this time that bass boost shot right threw me
19:28 is heat 🔥
I became officially sold on Sigma Oasis after seeing this live.
Kuroda doesn’t disappoint. This band is pretty good too

After the Bangor show I really loved this song!
Mike and Trey head nodding together at 17 mins in sync. Great shot by the camera guy.

See you there homie
You're already there. Baller !!! 🫦
the true kick into overdrive begins around 14:30
The ending is fantastic
Phish's playin in the band.
Yup, this is fire.
Sad there is no AC in 2023... hope to be back in 2024
14:43 Mike blows up the jam
This was an amazing show

This is good, but the one from Hartford is better
Yes and A song I heard the Ocean Sing was one of the best jams of the summer

Live sound engineers at work
Why'd it cut off at the end? 😐
If you say you like music but don't hear
Bitchin the hel she says part 2
But also, Sigma Oasis? What does it all mean?
Wonder why the band has been reduced to playing a rotation of about 15 songs
It's 15-20 songs with the best most inspired jams ever.
You know why
Sleeping Monkey was a rare one they did for the first encore.
Do you think anyone wore a mask to this show and took it off at the chorus?
