@@bhudusanj1574 they try to take the jungle but seem to leave when you get the first buff (I had 2 bot matches where a Talonflame came to contest the jungle, but went to the a lane when I 'stole' his first buff). It's very easy to steal the enemy jungle in bot matches as well. I just took theirs the entire game after the first Dreadnaw. At a point, I was 5 lvls ahead of the opponents highest lvl lol :p
I definitely made a greninja on my team feel like I was a bot in a game LOL I stole his jungle as cinderace and always made sure to go back when he did. We are both masters and it was unranked and the rest of our team were no-ranked so I just wanted to have fun. We stomped so hard even sharing the jungle that the other team FF’d at 4 minute mark though.
On the other hand, one time I got the bot replacement for an AFK teammate. At first I was annoyed, but I was bottom laning as blissey solo most of the match before that. So I got the option to "follow me" and I actually started doing better. That bot pikachu was actually better than my real teammate, even before he was AFK.
Yeah I've also said the same thing lmao If I can get a bot that can constantly follow me around, it just helps me secure kills and goal lol It's funny how much better I can do with a bot than many human teammates.
Another tell that you’re in a bot game is your teammates calling out “Retreat!” whenever they’re at low HP and sometimes getting KOd by wild pokemon such as ludicolo
I remember being able to click everyone’s picture profile while the game was loading in and everyone was zoomed in on the face except for me . It felt like a weird cult was taking over

Don’t you just love it when you’re teammates are late to every team fight, don’t help zone out for zapdos and when they have full points but decide to farm vesp camp instead of scoring in the last minute. It’s even better when its 7 matches in a row in ULTRA rank. Man I love the match making system lmao

21 is the most kills I’ve got xD but have only been playing 4 days edit: I realized it was vs bots now. Vs ranked my highest was like 11 and 10 assists
I’d say it’s because you and someone else called top lane but after you both lock in 2 other people say top lane and you end up with 3 attackers 1 defender and a speedster with 3 people up top at the very least. Some people really just don’t know how to play the game effectively at all and when you’re the only defender it’s not easy to hard carry 2 people feeding their brains out.
My friend I have been playing since season 3 snorlax main, this is the reason why I don’t want to play anymore, the bots are so bad it makes it “un-fun” gameplay and just allows me to rack up 15-20 kills with minimal brain power, it’s so frustrating not being able to “win” with your team and “lose” with them in those high tier battles.

I just lost two bot games in a row, so I'd like to dispute the claim that it's impossible. When my team is leading, I'm accustomed to being at Zapdos so that I can defend it. But for whatever reason, _all four_ of the bots on my team decided to hang back at the base, leaving me (a Wigglytuff player) at a hopeless 1v5 against the enemy bot team, all of whom filed in at once and proceeded to destroy me. Since I had about 30 trillion consecutive kills during that game, my respawn timer lasted about 50,000 years. After those 50,000 years were up, the enemy team had more than enough time to secure Zapdos and win the game. It was absolutely embarrassing, but it happened. And then it happened _again_ on the second bot game, because if you lose a bot game, they'll just continue to give you bot games until you finally win one. I legitimately do not understand what I'm supposed to do in a situation where your botted team refuses to attack or defend Zapdos with you. On the third bot game, the bot team actually didn't throw at Zapdos, so I was able to win. I hate this system.
This exact same thing happened to me. The first two bot matches my team would not engage Zapdos. Your bot teammates do not score that much before Zapdos so if you don’t take Zapdos it’s really hard to win.
I had that happen at Zapdos in a bit match. But they only scored one goal and the match ended. I thought they might not yet to score to let my team win. Guess I was wrong about them forcing the bot team to lose.
I was in a bot match recently, but only the opposing team. My teammates were real. I felt kind of dumb after giving everyone a good job and then noticing the opposing team was made of bots. It feels bad because I thought we were killing it only to realize it was a gimme game. 🙁
i hate those pity bots matches. As if I wasn't angry enough losing lot of games and then they are like. Poor baby here take this bot match and you win and feel happy again. That bot match boos my anger so much than once i suurender 7x of them. Then the game did same and match wad humans vs bots and i could no longer give up matches.
A lot of games have some version of a winners/loser queue to keep players from going on long win and lose streaks. Theres research to show that long streaks cause higher player lose, cuz the players get bored of always winning/losing. These bot matches seem like a really heavy handed way of doing that, especially in higher ranked
Thank you for sharing this. This finally explains why I can't "Good Job" - "Block" - "Friend" etc at the end of some matches. The more I learn about this game the more I don't like all the sneaky ish they are trying to pull. This explains the lack of info and detail in the game. Sigh. I'm new to MOBA and now looking for alternatives to Unite for Switch if anyone has any suggestions. Cheers!
Smite is another free MOBA though it’s different in that it’s from a third person perspective along the lines of something like Gears of War. There are a few others if you’ve got the time to give em a look.
Vainglory is on mobile, not sure how it is now but it use to be kinda kewl. Like most games it’s free but has skins everywhere and it’s the same basic concept except you go for kills and base destruction not goal scoring

Team members appear to be doing behaviors that are illogical in Unite Battle. 6. Fights are lopsided towards the player’s favor. 7. The player team has a massive advantage over the opposing team. 8. Leveling experience is boosted. 9. The player has little control over teammate behavior. This is to prevent piggybacking and allow the player to focus on their own plays. 10. The player is prevented from engaging with teammates after the battle. This means that no “good-jobs” can be gained for the player’s profile.

I'd much rather have slightly longer match wait times in order to not play with bots. At the moment I search for a match and I'm INSTANTLY connected with loads of people. I don't need this, I'm prepared to wait longer lmao

@@SeraphsWitness people getting hard carried into those ranks for sure. Even in ultra/masters people play like trash and it frustrates me. Since getting to masters I’ve only done 1-2 ranked games per day and the rest unranked or quick
The bot match is good way of reinforcing bad habbits, especially for newer players thinking they're playing a normal game. I just love how dreadnaw sits there all game if you don't attack him lol. At least if the bots in the matches did the objectives it would teach people a little...
I'm on a long losing streak because the game keeps putting me in god damn bot matches, and the bots are absolutely useless, it's hard to play support when your entire team runs from every fight and hands over scores like they're on the other team.
One way I have noticed is that human players will move forward immediately at the start of a match because we are already holding forward on the controller. In a bot match you’ll see all your team mates move off at exactly the same time and slightly delayed. Edit: can be seen here at 3:30 - jake moves first
In a bot match *they usually wait for u to pick the character first *u will always load last *@ start of the game u will move faster than the rest of the team they all start moving after 2sec delay *sometimes @ start of game they call for assistance *when they get low on HP they run away in the middle of anything they were doing eg- killing u (even when u have less HP then them) zap or drednaw they just abandon and run to base *during game they won't use quick chat *@ end of game all of the trainers profile are set to private, u cannot view any of them 90% of my standard matches are with bots If u keep losing ranked matches eg 2/3 in a row u will be placed with bots in ranked matches too
I got one at master after a five losing streak and it was the only time (also my biggest losing streak). But before masters its everywhere. The begginer rank is like almost all bots lol I think it ruins ranked quite a lot and make people rank up without deserving it
@@matthewscott4339 Then there should be a bot mode... and they shouldn't be playing ranked. Bot ranked where you compete to do better then other groups versus bots with a weekly reward.
OMG that really surprises me. ive never had a feeling like im playing with bots (maybe in my first 2-3 matches, i was completly stomping with snorlax) but i have like 100-150 games atm and never had a losing streak bigger than 2. So i guess maybe i never encountered that bot thing but when it happens someday i will know ;D. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and keep up the good videos.
It's really annoying at times because at one point I thought I all of a sudden became incredibly good but then I found out afterwards I was like 90% probably playing against bots
Pretty sure I’m teamed with here and there, always surrendering, stays in home base, lags no support. Can’t even get out of expert due to mis matched, very unbalanced and needs to be adjusted, keep up the great work Spragels love your work it’s helped me throughout my first time in a moba, very helpful with item usage and very detailed info. Ive been steady climbing through expert 2 to 1 win loss. I start losing rank when i group with my friends sadly... Wish that werent the case but subtle choices you make in matches determine wether you win or lose. Biggest issue i see players make is everyone trying to score the most on their team so they ignore saftey and teamwork for goals.
@@camronreynosa4958 yep! Most common mistake is pushing tier 2 goals early. 95% of the time it’s a terrible idea. Even if your team doesn’t get wiped it’s always better to back off and farm, ideally stealing enemy mons to keep them down.
this explains a lot - I definitely felt i was in a super easy match after 4-5 losses straight. I thought i was just shoved into a beginner lobby, but this makes a lot of sense. Edit: Also, this is super disappointing to see. Does the dev team behind Unite take community feedback at all? I feel like Pokemon in general really has a straight up wall and division between the playerbase vs the people who make their games. I know in Apex Legends, the devs are pretty active on social media, take questions, take in feedback, etc. I'm genuinely curious if the Unite dev team are willing to change certain things based on community feedback.
It's certainly not the Pokémon way to listen to the fan base. And I think Tencent only really cares about the profit to be honest, so I wouldn't get my hopes up 😜
Nintendo in general doesn't take fan feedback very well. lol In fact I think they have a general disdain for high-level competition. Tripping in Smash Bros. Brawl comes to mind.
Yeah something I noticed while struggling through ranked every time I dropped a rank/class Id get put into a freebie bot match. I wish the ranked ladder was just less punishing on losses so losing streaks didn't devastate your rank instead of wasting 8+ minutes on an insulting bot match. They also surrender instantly at 5 sometimes if u pushed all their goals.

Guys this is worse than that. I started 5 days ago and I've only realized that I've played ONLY bot games up to Veteran 1. Never played a MOBA: Avg. Score: 169.1 No. of Battles: 62 Win Rate: 82.2% As soon as I got Veteran 1, I encountered human players for the first time and got absolutely wrecked. I started a new account and same thing all over again. I'm gonna quit this game.
Been stuck at Veteran 1 for about a week now, I've noticed ill hover there for 7 or 8 matches. Once I drop to the rank below back to expert I get a bot match to put me back up.
I remember when the game just started and I decided to wait and see where everyone went. Only for my whole team to be frozen for 2 seconds as well. They all suddenly moved when I did and the enemy team I was against were making really questionable plays. I was so confused as it felt like no one had any idea with how to play. The match was super easy and it just felt so strange, but after hearing that there are bots its like ooh~ yeah that makes sense.
Important to know that bot games don't have to go on for 10 minutes. If you take out their goals and then score even one point in their central goal the bots will instantly surrender.
There are two other ways you didn't mention as well: 1) Is that if the bot is low HP they will run away and won't attack as they run and won't fight again until they either die and respawn or hit their home base and gain HP, even if they gain HP from healing or a berry. This also applies to your allies as well if they are bots. This happens regardless of whatever advantage you have or if allies show up. If they are too far away from the home base though they will teleport as well. So at least they aren't running all the way back if on the other side of the map. 2) Is that bots will always surrender, regardless of advantage, if you are 300 or more points ahead. I let bots take Zapdos, take all the points, one of my teammates scored and put us 340 above them and they surrendered immediately. But yea, bots are annoying. It makes zero sense to have them in Standard or Quick when they specifically have a bot mode you can select. Like if I wanted to play against bots I would have changed it to that mode. Ranked I can kinda get. Like I appreciated them in Beginner and Great Ranks cause teammates were dumber then the bots but Expert and up it's a little much.
for me it's easy to tell since i choose japan server during the beginning to play with people not in my region but later found out that even though you chose server at the start the game still force you to play with people in your region unless there's no matches so for me if i see if both team is filled with names that how japanese players name their online self it's a guarantee bot match side note, i do belive that the bots are actual people accounts which the game "borrowed" since the close up profile isn't a 100% thing

Idk if it’s only matches with one player and 9 bots. I think they’re put into lobbies that can’t fill as well. I’ve had some matches where there were definitely some real players but one or two that had the tell tell trainer pic and unless they were just RP’ing a bot, the same fight tendencies. I’d say the fighting was just because a player dropped connection but the addition of the pic…
honestly Im starting to not like the game anymore my teams usually always run to one side leaving me to defend alone and no one ever comes to help when I press the defend goal button multiple times I get why they implemented bots but its so frustrating dealing with them and constantly being on a losing streak. not to mention real players always afk within the first few minutes of the game for some reason. Like the game is hardly playable for me anymore.
I guess I'm near a bot playstyle.. I always use potion, I pick pokemon barely picked or pick mostly supporter and defender, and use items that kinda doesn't make sense like an attacker with defender like build because I'm still upgrading items I already have first than buying other items needed.
I have a 20 game winning streak in ranked, i tested out if bots were in my game by quilting out, only human in the lobby 3x in a row , i uninstalled, you should too
Bruh now you get bot as teammates and they follow you everywhere you go they don't do a lot when you encounter enemies. They steal your wild Pokemon and on the top of that they don't score goals. And if you die they'll idle until you respawn. This is so fking annoying
I used to get annoyed at some of the illogical stuff members of my team would do because it seemed like no human would do it, the realisation that bots were in ranked made a lot of sense
I think another indication that you're in a bot match is if you see a bunch of people getting killed by wild pokemon. Like I once saw that someone got killed by a Combee, and I was like "Wtf, who lets that happen?!" But I later realized that bot players will often stand there and fight wild pokemon until one of them drops, whereas a human player would generally stop and go heal when their HP starts getting low.
I can confirm this is happening as well. I haven't recorded any ranked bot matches, but if you queue up around 5am PST, the queue times can go as long as 1 minute and 15 seconds. When the queue time gets too long, it will match you with a full bot game. I wonder if this is exploitable for ranked matches?
I lost twice in ranked. Next match the opponents had odd behaviors. Noticed it with the Charmander, no kiteing with the auto attack, no using escape options used. Thought something was off, but it makes sense now.
Also another way I found out if they are a bot is that the four teammates also spend like an extra 1 second at home at the very start of the match. So you move ahead first. I think thats so the computer knows which lane you are headed to first.
In a lot of bot matches the bot team will surrender if you are beating them by a certain amount so I usually just push really aggressively and they’ll surrender at 5 minutes
I noticed that I get bot games on matches where if I loose (again) I’d go down a rank (or rather class) the way I was able to tell was by how the enemy engages and disengages when fighting you… they’ll chase you back to your tower and disengage at the same exact time.. if you exit and reach a certain point past your towers, they’ll re-engage at the exact same time. Ive never been able to tell if my teammates were bots tho.. I’ve never seen (or noticed) no Pokémon picked except for my own
Not mentioned here but a current way to tell if you’re in a full bot match is that when you’re in the loading screen to get into the match, if you swap the Pokémon cards to the trainer cards, bots will have a similar number of achievement points and battle pass levels. For achievement points it’s always within a 50 of yours, and BP levels are always within 5
I'm glad you made this, I was noticing it and considering putting a post up somewhere to confirm I wasn't going crazy. Trigger point for me was 5 in a row (in ranked) with all the same tells that you highlighted. One difference was one game I had the enemy bots surrendering at the 2min mark when Zapdos spawns.
1. If you are playing standard games, never let the lobby waiting time go over 1 min, if the waiting time is over around 1.30 mins, the game will automatically pair you up with bots 2. After getting matched, most people would go for carry, attacker or speedsters but bots usually pick a defender, supporter, speedster, one from each role. 3. All 9 or 8 people will have yellow basic background as jake said. (Im not sure but if you shut off the game and are AFK during the entire game, you will not get penalty points as there were no real players involved in game). 4. After they get into a fight and have just a sliver of HP remaining they would run to the base instead of standing in a bush and basing. Also they never go for objectives and are very easy to KO. 5. If you are only real person playing in your team and you hit surrender, all the bots unanimously hit surrender in just 1 second and concede the game. A good way to back out of the game at 5 min mark if you dont want to continue the botted match. 6. Their profiles will be hidden and private, if you try to check their stats after the game. And Yes the game is so damn clever, all the bots will have some holowears including legendary holowears like Adept machamp to market them and encourage the people to buy those by inducing some kind of FOMO in the player base.
you can see immedaitely if you are in a bot match when you are in champ select and NO ONE has any champ as a preselect and you can choose freely what champ you want to be. bots will always wait till you pick before they pick anything
Now its even worse because the bots actually seem like real people but NEVER try to get any objectives and freaking run in circles at random areas like they're confused what to do and when you DO manage to get rayquaza, they.dont.FREAKING SCORE
I think the problem with having bot matches, is a lot of the time of you are on a loosing streak sometimes you have to admit that the problem is not your teammates, its how you are playing. Where it seems like a good idea to have a little confidence booster every so often, but I think it puts that bias in your head if you dont know its bots. "Yeah see I just carried this entire game, it's not me whose bad its my teammates" which is just a toxic mindset to have.
There are millions of people, if 'You' can do consistently bad and so to can others. You can't really assign blame as there are assembly millions of players and many having bad days. The game has very limited communication tools which means people who know how to play MOBA decimate non-MOBA players entirely from understanding things you can't communicate with a drop down menu. For example setting up an Ambush with using someone as bait can be much harder... In other words if you know HOW to play these style of games... you end in situations where you can't explain "We need to do X to win." and the end result is allies appearing worthless. You can not politely ask them for things or give them advice unlike a traditional MOBA. This is a problem... as this is very distinctly a teammate issue you can't help fix. It becomes frustrating because of helplessness and creates a lot of toxicity entirely because of that. This game is a mess and needs help badly.
Wow neat these are easier signs that they are bots! The way I used to tell if my opponents were bots is that if you are fighting an enemy and then quickly hide in grass they forget you even exist and start walking away lmao.
Right after watching this video my next ranked match was a bot match. That was my first ranked match today so they also seem to remember losing streaks from a few days or so.

Yeah, I also had one spamming attacks or running in circles in spawn so you wouldn't be able to report them for idle. Sigh, heheh

I just lost two bot games in a row, so I'd like to dispute the claim that it's impossible.
When my team is leading, I'm accustomed to being at Zapdos so that I can defend it. But for whatever reason, _all four_ of the bots on my team decided to hang back at the base, leaving me (a Wigglytuff player) at a hopeless 1v5 against the enemy bot team, all of whom filed in at once and proceeded to destroy me. Since I had about 30 trillion consecutive kills during that game, my respawn timer lasted about 50,000 years. After those 50,000 years were up, the enemy team had more than enough time to secure Zapdos and win the game. It was absolutely embarrassing, but it happened. And then it happened _again_ on the second bot game, because if you lose a bot game, they'll just continue to give you bot games until you finally win one. I legitimately do not understand what I'm supposed to do in a situation where your botted team refuses to attack or defend Zapdos with you.
On the third bot game, the bot team actually didn't throw at Zapdos, so I was able to win. I hate this system.
Yep it's terrible to lose against bots, happened to me too.. It's even worse than losing against real ppl.
This exact same thing happened to me. The first two bot matches my team would not engage Zapdos. Your bot teammates do not score that much before Zapdos so if you don’t take Zapdos it’s really hard to win.

Sometimes you will get 4 bots and 1 real player on both teams.
I had that happen at Zapdos in a bit match. But they only scored one goal and the match ended. I thought they might not yet to score to let my team win. Guess I was wrong about them forcing the bot team to lose.
I was in a bot match recently, but only the opposing team. My teammates were real. I felt kind of dumb after giving everyone a good job and then noticing the opposing team was made of bots. It feels bad because I thought we were killing it only to realize it was a gimme game. 🙁

i hate those pity bots matches. As if I wasn't angry enough losing lot of games and then they are like. Poor baby here take this bot match and you win and feel happy again. That bot match boos my anger so much than once i suurender 7x of them. Then the game did same and match wad humans vs bots and i could no longer give up matches.
Once in a bot match everyone is a bot except for u. Not possible to have human teammates
A lot of games have some version of a winners/loser queue to keep players from going on long win and lose streaks. Theres research to show that long streaks cause higher player lose, cuz the players get bored of always winning/losing. These bot matches seem like a really heavy handed way of doing that, especially in higher ranked

Thank you for sharing this. This finally explains why I can't "Good Job" - "Block" - "Friend" etc at the end of some matches. The more I learn about this game the more I don't like all the sneaky ish they are trying to pull. This explains the lack of info and detail in the game. Sigh. I'm new to MOBA and now looking for alternatives to Unite for Switch if anyone has any suggestions. Cheers!
Smite is another free MOBA though it’s different in that it’s from a third person perspective along the lines of something like Gears of War. There are a few others if you’ve got the time to give em a look.
Vainglory is on mobile, not sure how it is now but it use to be kinda kewl.
Like most games it’s free but has skins everywhere and it’s the same basic concept except you go for kills and base destruction not goal scoring
In a bot match:
1. Teammates wait before picking their Pokémon. This is to ensure that the player gets to choose their favorite Pokémon.
2. Your teammates use randomized load-outs to increase variety and authenticity.
3. Trainer Avatars of your teammates appear as scrunched versions of their real counterparts with the same clothes and user-name.
4. It may or may not apply to both teams.
5. Team members appear to be doing behaviors that are illogical in Unite Battle.
6. Fights are lopsided towards the player’s favor.
7. The player team has a massive advantage over the opposing team.
8. Leveling experience is boosted.
9. The player has little control over teammate behavior. This is to prevent piggybacking and allow the player to focus on their own plays.
10. The player is prevented from engaging with teammates after the battle. This means that no “good-jobs” can be gained for the player’s profile.
If anyone read this comment, I want to know if it’s appropriate to follow a gerund with a verb. It did it in #9 and it sounds sorta odd.

I'd much rather have slightly longer match wait times in order to not play with bots.

The idea isn’t to avoid wait times. It’s to keep you playing the game if you go on losing streaks.

I had a bot match yesterday. In veteran class. They played better than some of the other teams I had previously played with
THIS. Honestly I find myself screaming at the screen, "HOW ARE YOU AT VETERAN RANK AND YOU DON'T KNOW HOW TO LANE PROPERLY!?"
@@SeraphsWitness people getting hard carried into those ranks for sure. Even in ultra/masters people play like trash and it frustrates me. Since getting to masters I’ve only done 1-2 ranked games per day and the rest unranked or quick
The bot match is good way of reinforcing bad habbits, especially for newer players thinking they're playing a normal game. I just love how dreadnaw sits there all game if you don't attack him lol. At least if the bots in the matches did the objectives it would teach people a little...

Also the bots tend to leave points all over the floor because they keep killing wild Pokémon but don’t always attempt to score.
Funfact : you can send a friend request to a bot . If you go to your match history and then select them you are then granted a option to add friend.
Bcas the accs are real, just used by bots, it happened 100% to your aswell, someone, fightet against your name and acount
I'm on a long losing streak because the game keeps putting me in god damn bot matches, and the bots are absolutely useless, it's hard to play support when your entire team runs from every fight and hands over scores like they're on the other team.
It's funny cause I've encountered Bots with the zoomed Pictures and it just freaked me out until I found out Bots existed in ranked lol

I was just in a bot match while on a winning streak with a poor performance.
One way I have noticed is that human players will move forward immediately at the start of a match because we are already holding forward on the controller. In a bot match you’ll see all your team mates move off at exactly the same time and slightly delayed.

*they usually wait for u to pick the character first
*u will always load last
*@ start of the game u will move faster than the rest of the team they all start moving after 2sec delay
*sometimes @ start of game they call for assistance
*when they get low on HP they run away in the middle of anything they were doing eg- killing u (even when u have less HP then them) zap or drednaw they just abandon and run to base
*during game they won't use quick chat
*@ end of game all of the trainers profile are set to private, u cannot view any of them

If u keep losing ranked matches eg 2/3 in a row u will be placed with bots in ranked matches too

I got one at master after a five losing streak and it was the only time (also my biggest losing streak). But before masters its everywhere. The begginer rank is like almost all bots lol I think it ruins ranked quite a lot and make people rank up without deserving it

I only liked bot matches when I'm 1 step away to my target rank (Ultra) for season reward...
OMG that really surprises me. ive never had a feeling like im playing with bots (maybe in my first 2-3 matches, i was completly stomping with snorlax) but i have like 100-150 games atm and never had a losing streak bigger than 2. So i guess maybe i never encountered that bot thing but when it happens someday i will know ;D. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and keep up the good videos.

It's really annoying at times because at one point I thought I all of a sudden became incredibly good but then I found out afterwards I was like 90% probably playing against bots
Go check your battle record and see if you can add the other players in the game. Pretty sure thats a safe way to retroactively check

Pretty sure I’m teamed with here and there, always surrendering, stays in home base, lags no support. Can’t even get out of expert due to mis matched, very unbalanced and needs to be adjusted, keep up the great work Spragels love your work it’s helped me throughout my first time in a moba, very helpful with item usage and very detailed info. You always win bot matches. The isnt a match where your team is bot and the enemy isnt. Bots are in the game to give you victory after losing streaks
Ive been steady climbing through expert 2 to 1 win loss. I start losing rank when i group with my friends sadly... Wish that werent the case but subtle choices you make in matches determine wether you win or lose.
Biggest issue i see players make is everyone trying to score the most on their team so they ignore saftey and teamwork for goals.
@@camronreynosa4958 yep! Most common mistake is pushing tier 2 goals early. 95% of the time it’s a terrible idea. Even if your team doesn’t get wiped it’s always better to back off and farm, ideally stealing enemy mons to keep them down.

this explains a lot - I definitely felt i was in a super easy match after 4-5 losses straight. I thought i was just shoved into a beginner lobby, but this makes a lot of sense.
Edit: Also, this is super disappointing to see. Does the dev team behind Unite take community feedback at all? I feel like Pokemon in general really has a straight up wall and division between the playerbase vs the people who make their games. I know in Apex Legends, the devs are pretty active on social media, take questions, take in feedback, etc. I'm genuinely curious if the Unite dev team are willing to change certain things based on community feedback.
It's certainly not the Pokémon way to listen to the fan base. And I think Tencent only really cares about the profit to be honest, so I wouldn't get my hopes up 😜

Yeah something I noticed while struggling through ranked every time I dropped a rank/class Id get put into a freebie bot match. I wish the ranked ladder was just less punishing on losses so losing streaks didn't devastate your rank instead of wasting 8+ minutes on an insulting bot match. They also surrender instantly at 5 sometimes if u pushed all their goals.
Bots insta surrender the second you get a 330+ point advantage.

Guys this is worse than that. I started 5 days ago and I've only realized that I've played ONLY bot games up to Veteran 1. Never played a MOBA:

As soon as I got Veteran 1, I encountered human players for the first time and got absolutely wrecked. I started a new account and same thing all over again. I'm gonna quit this game.

Been stuck at Veteran 1 for about a week now, I've noticed ill hover there for 7 or 8 matches. Once I drop to the rank below back to expert I get a bot match to put me back up.

I remember when the game just started and I decided to wait and see where everyone went. Only for my whole team to be frozen for 2 seconds as well. They all suddenly moved when I did and the enemy team I was against were making really questionable plays. I was so confused as it felt like no one had any idea with how to play. The match was super easy and it just felt so strange, but after hearing that there are bots its like ooh~ yeah that makes sense.
since one of the former updates, bots use fancy profile fotos and holowear, but you can still tell you are in a bot game
Important to know that bot games don't have to go on for 10 minutes. If you take out their goals and then score even one point in their central goal the bots will instantly surrender.

Man ive been playing against bots for 50 games now
There are two other ways you didn't mention as well:
1) Is that if the bot is low HP they will run away and won't attack as they run and won't fight again until they either die and respawn or hit their home base and gain HP, even if they gain HP from healing or a berry. This also applies to your allies as well if they are bots. This happens regardless of whatever advantage you have or if allies show up. If they are too far away from the home base though they will teleport as well. So at least they aren't running all the way back if on the other side of the map.
2) Is that bots will always surrender, regardless of advantage, if you are 300 or more points ahead. I let bots take Zapdos, take all the points, one of my teammates scored and put us 340 above them and they surrendered immediately.
But yea, bots are annoying. It makes zero sense to have them in Standard or Quick when they specifically have a bot mode you can select. Like if I wanted to play against bots I would have changed it to that mode. Ranked I can kinda get. Like I appreciated them in Beginner and Great Ranks cause teammates were dumber then the bots but Expert and up it's a little much.

for me it's easy to tell
since i choose japan server during the beginning to play with people not in my region but later found out that even though you chose server at the start the game still force you to play with people in your region unless there's no matches
so for me if i see if both team is filled with names that how japanese players name their online self it's a guarantee bot match
side note, i do belive that the bots are actual people accounts which the game "borrowed" since the close up profile isn't a 100% thing

This week I have had 2 3-game losing streaks in ranked that resulted in a bot match where I was the only human on both sides.
Idk if it’s only matches with one player and 9 bots. I think they’re put into lobbies that can’t fill as well. I’ve had some matches where there were definitely some real players but one or two that had the tell tell trainer pic and unless they were just RP’ing a bot, the same fight tendencies.
I’d say the fighting was just because a player dropped connection but the addition of the pic…

I surrender 7 bot games where everyone is a bot. Then the game changes that your team is humans and enemy is bots so i cannot surrender anymore.
Also they stand still for a split second at the start of the game
honestly Im starting to not like the game anymore my teams usually always run to one side leaving me to defend alone and no one ever comes to help when I press the defend goal button multiple times I get why they implemented bots but its so frustrating dealing with them and constantly being on a losing streak. not to mention real players always afk within the first few minutes of the game for some reason. Like the game is hardly playable for me anymore.

I guess I'm near a bot playstyle.. I always use potion, I pick pokemon barely picked or pick mostly supporter and defender, and use items that kinda doesn't make sense like an attacker with defender like build because I'm still upgrading items I already have first than buying other items needed.
I have a 20 game winning streak in ranked, i tested out if bots were in my game by quilting out, only human in the lobby 3x in a row , i uninstalled, you should too
Bruh now you get bot as teammates and they follow you everywhere you go they don't do a lot when you encounter enemies. They steal your wild Pokemon and on the top of that they don't score goals. And if you die they'll idle until you respawn. This is so fking annoying
I used to get annoyed at some of the illogical stuff members of my team would do because it seemed like no human would do it, the realisation that bots were in ranked made a lot of sense
I think another indication that you're in a bot match is if you see a bunch of people getting killed by wild pokemon. Like I once saw that someone got killed by a Combee, and I was like "Wtf, who lets that happen?!" But I later realized that bot players will often stand there and fight wild pokemon until one of them drops, whereas a human player would generally stop and go heal when their HP starts getting low.
I can confirm this is happening as well. I haven't recorded any ranked bot matches, but if you queue up around 5am PST, the queue times can go as long as 1 minute and 15 seconds. When the queue time gets too long, it will match you with a full bot game.
I wonder if this is exploitable for ranked matches?
The more you say you're not a robot. The more I believe that you are one. I don't know, kinda sounds like a conspiracy to me.
I lost twice in ranked. Next match the opponents had odd behaviors. Noticed it with the Charmander, no kiteing with the auto attack, no using escape options used. Thought something was off, but it makes sense now.
Also another way I found out if they are a bot is that the four teammates also spend like an extra 1 second at home at the very start of the match. So you move ahead first. I think thats so the computer knows which lane you are headed to first.
I finally got a match where we tied and the way to determine the winner was whoever scored first im pretty sure. I won that game but was so surprised
Jake 4 is really clearing up some of the question we had about Jake Lore. Now we just need to figure out who cloned jake in the first place
In a lot of bot matches the bot team will surrender if you are beating them by a certain amount so I usually just push really aggressively and they’ll surrender at 5 minutes
I noticed that I get bot games on matches where if I loose (again) I’d go down a rank (or rather class) the way I was able to tell was by how the enemy engages and disengages when fighting you… they’ll chase you back to your tower and disengage at the same exact time.. if you exit and reach a certain point past your towers, they’ll re-engage at the exact same time.
Ive never been able to tell if my teammates were bots tho.. I’ve never seen (or noticed) no Pokémon picked except for my own

Not mentioned here but a current way to tell if you’re in a full bot match is that when you’re in the loading screen to get into the match, if you swap the Pokémon cards to the trainer cards, bots will have a similar number of achievement points and battle pass levels. For achievement points it’s always within a 50 of yours, and BP levels are always within 5
I'm glad you made this, I was noticing it and considering putting a post up somewhere to confirm I wasn't going crazy.
Trigger point for me was 5 in a row (in ranked) with all the same tells that you highlighted. One difference was one game I had the enemy bots surrendering at the 2min mark when Zapdos spawns.
1. If you are playing standard games, never let the lobby waiting time go over 1 min, if the waiting time is over around 1.30 mins, the game will automatically pair you up with bots
2. After getting matched, most people would go for carry, attacker or speedsters but bots usually pick a defender, supporter, speedster, one from each role.
3. All 9 or 8 people will have yellow basic background as jake said. (Im not sure but if you shut off the game and are AFK during the entire game, you will not get penalty points as there were no real players involved in game).
4. After they get into a fight and have just a sliver of HP remaining they would run to the base instead of standing in a bush and basing. Also they never go for objectives and are very easy to KO.
5. If you are only real person playing in your team and you hit surrender, all the bots unanimously hit surrender in just 1 second and concede the game. A good way to back out of the game at 5 min mark if you dont want to continue the botted match.
6. Their profiles will be hidden and private, if you try to check their stats after the game.
And Yes the game is so damn clever, all the bots will have some holowears including legendary holowears like Adept machamp to market them and encourage the people to buy those by inducing some kind of FOMO in the player base.

Another way to tell bots and players apart (unless it was changed) bots will go to the middle of a goal to score.
you can see immedaitely if you are in a bot match when you are in champ select and NO ONE has any champ as a preselect and you can choose freely what champ you want to be. bots will always wait till you pick before they pick anything
Had a 27 elimination game with Cinderace in a bot match... felt I was a boss until I realized halfway through

Now its even worse because the bots actually seem like real people but NEVER try to get any objectives and freaking run in circles at random areas like they're confused what to do and when you DO manage to get rayquaza, they.dont.FREAKING SCORE

I think the problem with having bot matches, is a lot of the time of you are on a loosing streak sometimes you have to admit that the problem is not your teammates, its how you are playing. Where it seems like a good idea to have a little confidence booster every so often, but I think it puts that bias in your head if you dont know its bots. "Yeah see I just carried this entire game, it's not me whose bad its my teammates" which is just a toxic mindset to have.
There are millions of people, if 'You' can do consistently bad and so to can others. You can't really assign blame as there are assembly millions of players and many having bad days. The game has very limited communication tools which means people who know how to play MOBA decimate non-MOBA players entirely from understanding things you can't communicate with a drop down menu.
For example setting up an Ambush with using someone as bait can be much harder...
In other words if you know HOW to play these style of games... you end in situations where you can't explain "We need to do X to win." and the end result is allies appearing worthless. You can not politely ask them for things or give them advice unlike a traditional MOBA.
This is a problem... as this is very distinctly a teammate issue you can't help fix. It becomes frustrating because of helplessness and creates a lot of toxicity entirely because of that.
This game is a mess and needs help badly.

The way I used to tell if my opponents were bots is that if you are fighting an enemy and then quickly hide in grass they forget you even exist and start walking away lmao.
Right after watching this video my next ranked match was a bot match. That was my first ranked match today so they also seem to remember losing streaks from a few days or so.
