Holy cow. This video put into perspective just how BIG this mod really is. It is no wonder that it has been referred to as a _fork_ of Minecraft Alpha. It is the ultimate Minecraft Alpha experience.

@@JyrationMC like that all food used to be stackable? that really was a suprise to me, since DirtPiper is so against it now.
Yeah I think after he implemented it he realized how unbalanced stacked food is with the old hunger system.

if you haven't already, you might want to fix the entity Y offset related bugs such as shadows and fire rendering too high (e.g. on you in third person)
I've done it already and can (somewhat as I've heavily refactored my source tree lol) detail how I did it

Yes! It was in the patch notes twice so I read it out twice.

It seems around 7:16 the audio and visuals become desynched. Maybe there's some missing clips there? It seems the features begin to be described several seconds after the corresponding visuals. Then it resolves a bit later.

Alpha 1.1.7_02, the last feature :) obsidian tools were initially textured as diamond tools (and also unobtainable iirc)

hey i have a question. what use does copper have? Is it like vanilla minecraft? like just decorative and a few items or can you use it for armor n' tools? i tried but it didnt work

You can place a chest next to any other chest if there's water or fire there :)
So I played for a bit, and as someone who first played MC on the browser, and then went to 1.5 I never experienced the Alpha. And because of that I don't get the appeal of this version, or this mod. What's the point? No offense but why would you intentionally downgrade?
The main reason I've found that people go back to Alpha is either for nostalgia, its simplicity, or the world gen. I personally enjoy the simplicity since I find the endless number of blocks and items in modern Mincraft stunts my creativity so I prefer to work with limitations. I never played alpha minecraft back in the day, but now, I don't usually play any versions past release 1.0. But this mod is not gonna appeal to everyone, but for an alpha enthusiast such as myself, it's a nice way to keep gameplay interesting. Also, since it patches the server netcode, it makes alpha SMP's a viable option (vanilla netcode was not finished development at this point and was virtually unplayable).

How you make all of dyes?
I know each of the flowers give a dye. Coal gives black dye, bones are white. And you can mix a bunch to get a whole lot of other colours. Oh and smelt cactus for green.

Obsidian pickaxe (which looks like a diamond pickaxe) and waving arms :)

how do you get crying obsidian in survival?
when you make obsidian by covering lava in water, there is a small chance that you get crying obsidian :)

some glitch fixes and obvious added functionality to sum blocks were awesome, but adding new ores and systems are a little to far
I'm having trouble running this mod, I've tried it on MultiMC and Betacraft but it keeps crashing.
What type of crash? Like refusing to boot? Make sure you have Java 8 installed.
@JyrationMC I'll check to see if I have it installed on my PC or not later on, right now I'm at work.
@JyrationMC I can't really explain what type of crash it is, all I know that everytime I try to play this mod it results in an error.

Yes, there have been more recent patches since this video. We are still on major version 1.1.11, though.

So for anyone who likes alpha or old versions in general, you could check out my Minecraft alpha playthrough. I basically update the game each part, and will eventually update to beta if it's even possible. The goal is to try out each version avaliable in Minecraft launcher in one single world, I'm currently in alpha 1.0.14.
