Was looking for the change and could never see it lol. Feel like they coulda gone for something more significant like a shader change on the whole body or aura like effects.
Kind of, it doesn't say what exactly is changing about them, just that there's a change. I pretty much exclusively had played with characters that had their signature W Engine so I wasn't sure what it was either lol
@@Just-An-Average-Guy Yes, to this day I still dont understand why they didnt do that with characters in Genshin, HI3rd also has a few battlesuits that dont have a "signature" weapon, but those are only the really old ones, so every character also has a signature there aswell Meanwhile over half of the characters in Genshin have no personal / signature weapon, instead just unrelated weapons that just fit their stats

Also if you have the character's signature, there will be a switch on the W-Engine screen below where the W-Engine would "slot in". If you can see red there, you have their signature.

Also, if you equip it on the respective character, there will be a stamp on the bottom right of the info panel reading "Exclusive Special W-Engine".
I rly dont know why hoyo went through this effort if nearly all the effects are impossible to see without slowing down to 0.1x with a side by side comparison lol They should all be crazy like Corins, especially if you can turn it on and off
I don't get why they'd make a skin system, tied to specific weapons, but have the effect so weak that you can barely notice it, and is only visible while you're probably distracted with the combat...
It's probably so you won't feel as gimped when using an arguably better W-Engine in the future for your older characters. Future banner units might have more apparent differences to attract more Engine banner pulls.
In case anyone wants to say Billy doesn't have one. His is the starlight engine replica, not to be confused with the starlight engine. Idk why they did that, it's just a little confusing

I was looking for exactly what the special effect of signature weapons are, you should do it for all the characters. Most of them are barely noticeable , with Ben and Soukaku you almost never look at them from the front while you're fighting so its hard to see tbh
The game tells you that signature weapons have special effects, but I kept trying to find that in the equipment screen and I never noticed a difference in the weapon, I never knew the difference happens in combat, it's kinda cool how they took Arlecchino's weapon idea from Genshin (how only her signature weapon turns into a scythe, while other weapons just added a glow in the shape of a scythe) and made it possible for all characters
What doesn't help is that Anby is the one used in the tutorial, and her change is subtle, cause most wouldn't be paying attention to the lighting of her hair.
I have Ellen and her signature weapon and I thought it was just her ult like how archons do in Genshin but I guess not lol. For those wondering the pink streaks in her hair become a little more noticeable and glow
It makes sense that the agents would get a Hollow-like glow since their W-Engines are modified for exploration compared to normal toy ones. All that ether getting soaked up has to manifest somehow

Ok so I found this out today: When you unlock their sig weapon, and equip the character with it, it will unlock a switch at the base of the gear wheel that allows you to both 1. Use the unlocked cosmetic permanently (even when their sig W-engine isn’t equipped they still have the effect.) And 2. Enable and disable the effect. (This is for ppl who have a better w-engine like a s-tier who want to use the cosmetic, but the w-engine there using is bad/under-leveled.) Pretty cool tbh.
I first realized this with Corrin, she has one of the more noticeable differences, I read the tutorial for the effect but didn't really realize what it did untill I saw Corrin's hair
it's barely noticeable in such a fast moving game :/ Hopefully at some point we get more prominent alt weapon/character re-skins to customize the agents appearance more

I think this is a genuinely cool idea that could be implemented but in the future I think the changes should be a bit more drastic bc this game is so fast paced and visual (well when you even get to battle unless it’s all tvs)
They really need to update the ones who have pure white hair. Maybe match thier glow color to their element so Anby could turn blue, Billy could glow gold, etc

FINALLY someone makes a video on this. It's not just signature weapons, though. Both Anby's signature and Lycaon's count for Anby. Roaring Ride, Weeping Gemini, and Rainforest Gourmet ALL count for Piper. It seems like it might let you turn it on just for HAVING that character's signature even if it's not the one that is equipped. I can use any of my A rank engines with it on Nicole but not on Lucy. I have Nicole's signature but not Lucy's. Maybe someone else can try to confirm based on what they have?
If you actually check the lore on each W-Engine, some tells you which is used. If equipped with the right person, lets say house keeper, Corin makes a comment. It even tells you it's supported by which character if equipped correctly. Though I feel like people already have figured it out.
There's also an option to turn it off without changing the stats in case that you don't like this, it's the little switch below the W-engine in the equipment screen. You can do this separately for each individual character.

They made a big deal about anbys since it was the tutorial about it, but to be honest, they should've made more obvious changes to the characters. Add some neon to their clothes, change some colors, different effects (visually) to attacks. Something more than they glow a little during some attacks.
Fun fact! You don't need their signature for it, I believe it works for all 5 star weapons on any character, my Corin is using Nekomata's weapon and her hair glows!

You can swap them do different W-Engines as long as you've equipped them with their signature W-Engine once before and still keep the special effect!

another thing to note is that once u got their signature on stock u can change the wengine and keep the skin effect on.

Since I read it in the tutorial I've been trying to find the special effects but I cannot see them even with a side by side comparison lol, thank u for explaining in text the differences.

Damn im actually glad that the animations arent THAT different, as a S2p player theres no way ima get everyones main weapon lol.
Btw you can unequip the sig w-engine after and still keep the special effects with another w-engine. 🎉

they really need to amp up the effects, they are way too subtle and I don't think anyone would get mad if the features that are modified were a little more visible
Now I love this game even more, so detailed so love these hidden appreciateable stuff

For a fast-paced action game like this (combat), they should have made the effects stand out more.
Back then I didn't know what does corin signature engine look like so when I look it up I realized I accidentally give it to nekomata, when I give it back to corin and see her hair glow I was like 'Huh? Is it just me or did corin hair become a glow stick'
