  • In this video being “Part One” of the River Murray flooding in November 2022, we start our drive from Morgan on the Murray South Australia to travel along the Murray River to look at the flooding which is currently increasing as the weeks progress. It is still approximately four weeks before the current predictions will see the flooding peak at it’s highest level for many years.
    From Morgan we travel the river system up to Renmark where we spend the night before proceeding the following day which will be show in “Part Two” of this series.
    Music in the video is available from EPIDEMIC SOUND https

    Great filming, the drone shots certainly give a good idea of just how much water there is. I was in Swan Hill last week and the Murray is certainly moving quickly, its at the top of the banks there, so they will be nervous. I think the before and after shots of the locks are the best way of showing how much its come up. Looking forward to part 2. Hoping everyone is keeping safe. Thankfully the Avoca went down before we were impacted. Cheers Cheryl 🙂

    Good well balanced comments supported by a great video - unlike a lot of the sensationalism coming from the media.
    Well done, can't wait for video #2 - & maybe something at the floods peak??

      Glad you enjoyed it! We intend on filming the area this coming Sunday that is between Blanchtown and Mannum to show what is happening there. When it does peak we will definitely go back and capture the areas that highlight the full flooding effect, well that is our intention at the moment, stay tuned.

    Thank you for sharing your awesome footage of the flooding so far through the Riverland. I'm a Riverlander born & raised in Waikerie. Hope you have some footage of Waikerie in part 2?! I live in Adelaide now, still have family in Waikerie. I also lived in Berri & Renmark for a while when my children were younger.
    As well like to mention to you I see you went to the Old Overland Corner, inside they have a "Home Made Cabinet" full of home made knives & Oyster shucker's, Bottle openers etc. all made from old railway line nails. This is all made by my 2nd Cousin Tomas Hansen, his own business called Bushy's Projects, he's a Blacksmith & he was a local to the Riverland now living in Encounter Bay with his British wife & their little daughter. If you seen them and maybe bought something? Thank you if not that's Ok, maybe next time?? I will put in a link to his website for you if your interested share with family & friends.

      Thank you for the great comments. We have eaten meals at the Overland Hotel many years ago and possibly would have seen the Cabinet then but can't recall now. It is a top spot, real country about it. I will have a look at the link you sent, thanks.
      It was our intention to film Waikerie while there but it was just too windy to put up the drone. Lets hope when we go back again as the water comes down, we can get a better day and capture some film then.👍

    Thanks for the video I really appreciated it. Interesting the flow meter at Lock 3 shows 80GL/Day, the current forecast is for at least 175GL/Day peaking in mid Dec. Hope that flow meter is wrong otherwise there’s a stack more water coming!

    • @justcruisinwithmicksally837
      @justcruisinwithmicksally837  ปีที่แล้ว

      You are right about the flow metre and what is still to come. Talking to people up the river we got different reports but most were expecting a lot more yet to come. One of our friends at Waikerie told us that he was of the understanding that it could get just below the 1956 flood level, lets all hope he is wrong.

    Hey Mate, Great video. One thing you could do to improve your videos is to add chapters. By doing this people can see what certain parts of the video show and if people wish to see specific parts of the videos they can. keep up the great work ;)

    • @justcruisinwithmicksally837
      @justcruisinwithmicksally837  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for watching and also for the suggestion about chapters. I just had a look at inserting chapters and found that it will not go onto TH-cam with chapters, perhaps I have more to learn in regards to doing that with TH-cam. At present I can only work out with my software Prog how to insert chapters when creating a DVD, not when creating TH-cam videos.

    Wow, spent a few years in my late teens working with the old man on his vineyard in Bamera, but lived in Renmark, used to go skiing so much along that stretch of water from the Renmark Caravan Park. I've never seen it that high before and I guess with the holiday season approaching fast, Houseboat holidays, which were probably booked last year have probably been cancelled, I guess. It's probably the seasons where they get majority of their bookings.

    • @justcruisinwithmicksally837
      @justcruisinwithmicksally837  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The houseboat hiring industry I believe is now shutdown until this flood event is all over as there is too much rubbish and logs floating in the water let alone the water speed as it heads down stream. Interesting times ahead for some of us who haven't seen a flood of this magnitude before and the older people no doubt will recall some of the other floods that have occurred in the river history.
