I think the lightbulbs thing is in reference to the fact/myth that the original Thomas Edison lightbulbs could last for centuries but companies made them burn out faster so you have to pay them again. It might be true, it might be false, but that’s that I think they mean by “Original Lightbulbs.”
The original carbon-filament bulbs from Edison's days could last for ages, but they were prohibitively expensive, had extremely poor efficiency, and their output decreases over time. They won't "break" exactly, but they'll barely emit any light after a while. Later tungsten filament bulbs had vastly superior performance but had to compromise between light output and the lifespan of the bulb. The longer you want your bulb to last, the less light it produces per watt of power consumed. Light bulb companies then calculated what would be the sweet spot between "acceptable lifespan" vs "acceptable power consumption" for most customers and agreed among each other to err in favor of their own bank accounts as opposed to the power companies (obviously) but really not by a statistically significant amount. With today's energy prices carbon filament bulbs would be completely unviable. There's a reason why large companies/buildings replaced all their incandescent bulbs with CFL bulbs, then again with LED. That reason is money.

Stay safe and comfy, Robin.
15:56 the rich are so rich, they're monopolizing cringe
Not really what you asked at all; but before I moved I had a neighbor, who was quite rich (not millions of dollars but very very well off, owned several homes, etc etc) who once spent HOURS on the phone with the power company because they overcharged him by 10¢, but would frequently buy us car loads of groceries and try to help all bc my dad would mow his yard and help him. He passed away about 2 years ago, but he was definitely a goat
hey man, congrats on getting healthcare. you seriously deserve that and so much more. thanks for giving us this content (maybe not this exact content) so we can relax from the hell that is life right now

Scott's charitable giving goes straight to the organizations rather than diluting it with boards and charities. Maybe musk is worried about all poor charity board members who don't get a cut.
0:23 lauren i feel like you should save that "insult" to elon musk, he's the type of guy that needs to hear this sh@t but his egocentric $ss would not even care enough to even hear a single word. the musk even admited that he's "CoNsTaNtLy Is InSulTeD oN tWiTtEr"
twitter is for old people
@@darterglo2 i wish it was too man
@ wait what
Even if musk did hear it. Ain't gonna matter. He's still rich enough to do pretty much whatever he wants.
here's what Elon was thinking; "i am the most important person ever. i want to extract wealth from everyone without any restrictions, and democracies regulations are a big obstacle. other rich people should think exactly like me. donations to any fund that helps people who have historically been marginalized would make it harder to extract wealth or hurt the people i dont like (poors)" the guy is a literal racist from south africas apartheid era, who grew up with gems in his pockets that were mined by what was effectively slave labour, and invested those gems into companies that might make his dream to be the emperor of mars a reality, he gave a nazi salute at a political function and actively ignored the fact that his cars cant actually self drive in spite of being "just six months away" for years, his factories break laws all the time, he has promised fully automated humanoid robots "in a year or two" for the last decade, his space company fails to get beyond our orbit and regularly has complete vessel failures. if NASA had half the funding of spacex we would already have a lunar base and would be mining asteroids for materials to go into cargo ships bound for mars.
elon musk is a nazi sympathizer wearing an 'industrial capitalist' nametag, and so many people willingly ignore the lack of a difference.

21:46 Since there is a Star Trek episode where a normal car is found in the middle of space, i can definitely see Elon having watched at least a little Star Trek.
I love clever comebacks, I wish this subreddit was reviewed more imo
if only there wasnt so much political and topical shit, i want funnier comebacks
@JustCallMeFran-i6v same tbh
The fact that there are people who look to Andrew Tate like he's some kind of role model is honestly disturbing, dude is a pretentious know-it-all narcissist who thinks he's cooler than he really is. Tate seems like he was the type to get bullied a lot in school, watched a few too many action movies and decided that as an adult to play a characture of himself based on his definition of what he thinks 'cool' is.
Roald Dahl did write a villain used car dealer…
22:23 He's an undocumented alien who fights the mega-millionaire arch-villain. Couldn't be any more left wing...
I'm pretty he also straight up fought the KKK in one comic

19:38 If I want to eat a whole cake myself, I can make one any day of the week. It's literally as simple as throwing butter, eggs, sugar, flour and baking powder into a bowl, mixing that up, greasing a pan, and turning the button on the oven.
Hell, you can throw oil, flour, sugar and baking powder into a mug, mix and turn the button on the microwave and you'll get a very similar result. Cake is so easy to make, I have to be responsible with how often I make it to avoid ruining my health. It's easier than bread. Easier than pancakes. Easier than cookies. Anyone who complains about giving away *cake* is just whining.
I spent my 21st birthday completely alone so I decided to buy a cake for myself to cheer me up. They didn't have any small cakes so I bought what they had. I tell you, it is fucking MASSIVE for me and I've literally been eating it for a week now. I would be so willing to share it with people but I'd need friends for that so whoop de do

It's because the guy both did a hyperbole and a strawman. Straight up saying "communism bad" would've been way more substantial than his whole stupid tweet
Honestly in italy if we had a school party we were all instructed to do it potluck style. Barely ever did a teacher pay for all of it. We would set it up ourselves. We each bring a cheap thing and go to town. One guy one year brought rice cakes as that's all he had at home and I love ricecakes personally. Some think they taste like cardboard but the slightly salted ones or the corn ones are so nice they're addictive. Literally you could've brought discount supermarket chips if you felt embarrassed to show up with off brand cola and everyone was happy as long as there was food. And you can get a big bag still for a euro in Italy.
Ricecakes are good especially with some butter on it :)
So Andrew Tate is 38 with no children but calls people at 40 with less than 5 children gay. Hmm...
Wait doesn't he have a shit ton of kids from a bunch of different women?

He's imitating musk watching TNG. Saying Picard shouldn't do XYZ thing (which is... probably helping an endangered community or something)
Dude the percentage of people cussing in between 2024 and 2025 is MASSIVE and the hatred too

No it wasn't always bad education in the US. Theodore, FDR, JFK and more Presidents had a focus on improving education. It's only started going down around Reagan's time.
Well I think its more the model of how were taught considering the methods barely changed since the kids in factory days.

“I had to go into the army and go to war to get my college paid for.”

My friend from school sold his business for 30m, at age 26. If we are in the bar, he will get about half of the rounds.

Can we please stop with the existential dread? I hate having to feel like my life and/or future people's lives will be stuck in such a boring dystopia where no one can escape and people become stupid to the point that they willingly accept these things with open arms. I just want peace, but everything I see online seems like it wants me to be angry, and I hate that it has made me bitter because that means that it has already won. I try to clock out from the media, but it just sucks me right back in anyway, and the cycle continues.
🤷♂️ is what it is
Not unless we see genuine proof of things actually getting better. Like, a lot better. So I guess your best bet is try your hardest to avoid the dread because I doubt it's gonna leave anytime soon until we actually get our hope for future existence back.
