Alpacas are a herd animal, and as such, they require other alpacas for socialization and security. An individual alpaca would be in a constant state of stress and sadness, which compromise its health and could eventually lead to death. An alpaca herd should have a minimum of three alpacas
He's found his herd in both pets and will be a happy animal. That said, it would be great to adopt another alpaca sibling for him too🥰

Umm you don’t raise Alpaca’s for fur, but wool. Also, they’re typically herd protectors like dogs, so I’m not sure they’re raised for meat either. But I could be wrong about that last bit since having a herd of livestock that can all collectively kick large predators asses would probably be better than just a few sheep dogs.

It's pretty common for mammals to show group behavior in general.
I once saw a lioness caring for a wildebeast or something..... in the wild no less.
It was probably empty nest syndrome after the lioness lost her cubs or something, but even so it is truly weird.

Not well cared for. This is not how you raise alpacas. Just because they feed him people food and give him full access to the house and put a collar on him like he's a dog, doesn't mean he's well cared for. It's not cute. It's sad.

Her pronunciation is nothing like the typical Brazilian pronunciation/accent when speaking English, that's why I didn't assume she was Brazilian right off the bat. You're probably right, though, but in that case, she's done an amazing job when it comes to absorbing the native English phonetics.

Alpacas are social animals that can die from loneliness. Wanting to be near the only other animal around isn't surprising. Though they usually want to be around sheep, goats, and small horses. Usually not with amounts to a small predator.

He's in a herd already. These are domesticated animals, which means they fully bond to humans, and likely even dogs and cats as they've been around each other for thousands of years.
