    Thanks for the link. I've been looking for these cases, which I found some. The thing is they sell it in packs, the more you buy the cheaper they are. But I sure don't need 200 I need more like 50. This is so awesome how you can buy exactly what you need. I looked up their address and if I'm not mistaken they ship from Texas and I'm in Texas. For 50 shipping is $13+ not bad at all. I can't wait to buy some of these. THANKS for the video!

    Thank you!! With the PTI stamp cases being out of stock or no longer sold I don't even have the desire to use my new stamps. Question, can't I purchase index labels and relabel the DVD cases instead of making charts?

  • @LenaRayAtl
    @LenaRayAtl 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    Does these cases have the center part inside (hub) that you have to take out? All of the one I've seen have it. Thanks for sharing! Lena

    Great job! I have done this as well. I unmounted all of my Stampin Up wood stamps! However. I created a catalog by theme. So All of my sentiment stamps are stamped on the catalog page labelled sentiments. Next to each stamp, I added the stamp case number so I could locate them easily and use them. Hope it made sense.

    Where did you get the images for your charts and how did you get them so clear?? Did you copy the images directly from the PTI site or did you stamp them or did you scan the index sheets?? I am looking to re-organize my stamps by type - yes it's going to be a HUGE undertaking but I think I will use my stamps more if I did this. So I was going to be using this system to re-org them.

    I am currently "testing" using CD cases I already had to see if I like this type of storage. Currently my stamps are in binders, but the binders take a ton of space on my desk and they are so heavy. The one thing I noticed about the CD cases is that they crack very easily. While just opening one, it cracked. Are these DVD cases more durable/sturdy than CD cases?
    Thanks!
    Jennifer

    Where did you get the charts to use for saving ... or did you just copy the chart that came with the stamp?

  • @gfior2629

    Great video!
    Would like to ask advice- I'm new to stamping, NOT experienced with the tools or products available to crafters & am only just recently getting into planners.
    I have MANY clear CD cases (just compressed a HUGE music collection by bagging them all, would like to put some of these cases to good use before dumping the excess, and think they'd be great for stamp storage as your DVD cases are, just on a smaller scale.
    My problem- I have MANY tiny icon-sized stamps and would like to sort them out from their sets and group them into specific collections (chores, cooking, errands, seasons, gardening....etc.etc.etc.) TO DO THIS I WILL HAVE TO CUT UP THE ART SHEETS or so I imagine. I would like to put my newly regrouped & organized stamp sets into cd cases, two sets per case (on each side, as you did). I'd LIKE to see the plastic [cut up plastic?] art images from the outside, and have the stamps adhering to the art work.
    1) Is there a way to make the artwork fronts sticky to adhere to the cd case front and back from the inside, without compromising the image? and,
    2) Will I need to put some plastic dividing sheet in between the back and front layers of stamps to keep them from adhering to each other, AND make the images more clearly view-able from both sides? I'm thinking a white plastic would do it, but can you buy acetate? Does it come in white? Or would I have to laminate white sheets and cut them up? (sounds $$$ and I'm on a TIGHT budget- the less this costs and the more I can recycle, the better!) I'm afraid BOTH sides of stamps will adhere to this divider sheet, unless I put 2 of them in...
    Does this sound feasible to you? Any suggestions? (I'm trying to go over this and other possibilities in my head, but don't have enough stamping experience or craft product knowledge to come up with a good solution...) Any help would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks,
    G.F.

      @AKCaraboo  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      (1) Most CDs have little brackets to hold the covers in place...maybe you could use those to hold the artwork in place. I also have a suggestion for you. Instead of cutting up the plastic, why not stamp them out, with on paper or directly on the cover of the case...I think Stazon ink would work for that but check the label. (2) I didn't put anything between mind and occasionally they stick together. Not much and it didn't bother me. It will largely depend on how think your stamps are. There are other options out there to consider...my biggest suggestion is...search TH-cam and watch a lot of videos. Hope this helps!

  • @divabarrie08
    @divabarrie08 9 ปีที่แล้ว

    Do you keep the clear plastic that comes with the stamp. And glue to dad case. That way the stamps stay on original package that came in when you bought it. Or you stick the stamps on the actual DVD case. Will that ruin the stamps and take off glue off stamps thanks. What cleaning stuff do you use on your stamps. Thanks.

    • @AKCaraboo
      @AKCaraboo  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +divabarrie08 I don't keep the plastic because I can get more in the dvd case without it. So far, after doing this for a few years, my stamps are still in great condition. I use mainly alcohol free baby wipes but have used actual stamp cleaner...various brands. When the stamps get particularly dirty or don't stick well to the block I use a little dish soap and some water. Hope that helps!

    You have been using this system for a while now - do you still use it, are you still happy with it. One more question, please - how are you 'pasting' for the images of the stamps. Thank you - Julie

    • @AKCaraboo
      @AKCaraboo  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      I do still use this for my clear stamps. In fact, I just got more dvd cases. As for the "pasting" I spoke of…I am not doing that. I am actually creating an inventory by stamping out all of my stamp sets which is, as you can image, a rather large task. I plan to do a video on it when I am a little further down the road with the project. TFW!

    Love your vide. How did you print out such professional document with Word showing the stamp sets? You said you copied and pasted, but what did you copy from? It doesn't look like the package picture. Thanks!

    • @AKCaraboo
      @AKCaraboo  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      If I remember correctly, I copied the images either from the images on the site...I think I clicked on them to enlarge them...or I googled the imaged and copied that. Hope that helps a bit!

    If you're looking for cases like these try searching for clear dvd cases no hub or no tray :) are these safe to use with the stamps? I've heard of some cases reacting with the stamps and ruining them o_o

    How would you do a "crossed index" ? I don't really know how to say this in english since I'm french but, for instance, if you want to a specific stuff, let's say a dove, how would you do a system in which it would be possible to find it without going through all your charts ? Don't know if you see what I mean... ??
