NOTE: Your university limit might be a bit different from the one used in the video, but then, the principles are still the same.
Just know the principles and apply it to your university threshold/limit system for their grading system.
I got 4 Dis and 2 merit and my first year award was MERIT. Another student who is from Sri Lanka had the same with mine and she awarded DIS for her first year award. I don’t even understand their method for this UK self.
So the grading system and threshold may differ per school.
Thanks for the knowledge share. Please what if a student doesn't have distinction in any of the modules. How is it then calculated? As i can see you only used distinction mark for explanation.
For the University of Chester, I used as a case study here, there grading system limit is 100/180 credit values in Distinction modules for you to be awarded a DISTINCTION. while it is 80/180 credit values for you to be awarded a MERIT. Other universities limit might be different, but the same grading system applies.
To answer your question, if you are unable to meet the limit for 100/180 credit values for DISTINCTION, or 80/180 credit values for MERIT, then you will be awarded a PASS.
