I don't hear an accent in you and I'm from the US. You sound generally American. I'm from the Southern US and I try to suppress my accent to some extent and I am careful with how I say things just to make myself sound more understandable. You're an interesting person.

Living in Australia, a hard r sound makes you sound American enough for people to ask you about it. That's why I try to soften it.

makes me mad why people are only interest in same culture accent language blah blah 😡 they have no idea the one they back away from could be their potential friends or connection 😢😡😡😡😠😒

Servo = service station = gas station. Also your story of learning from international schools is if anything more interesting than just being from the USA? I've been enjoying your videos, a lot of what you say resonates with me as someone who barely manages to stay functional with their own social anxiety. One thing that I do, and I think I've observed you doing is: I think you're really hard on yourself and seem to be quick to jump into blaming yourself as being (I'm not sure what the best word is here), deficient? It's not "unfortunate" that you're not American. What happens if you instead explain your story about your life growing up and how your accent emerged? I'd be super interested in hearing about that if someone told me that.

Thanks. I think people are honestly not too interested in my story probably cuz it wasn't the story they wanted.

"I've been [in Australia] for about 15 years."
Welp, I never got that memo until now.

Yeah I had a feeling some of you guys might not have known I live in Australia especially since I don't film outside of the house ever.

Do they expect you to start telling stories about being in a school shooting or something lol. They just seem ignorant, there's plenty of interesting things about growing up in asia- they just don't know enough to have an intelligent conversation about your background and that's on them

Tbh I understand where they're coming from. It's like how I personally don't find America all that interesting lol.

Hi Wing! I also have an accent I live in the states but I am Hispanic and kind of have that Hispanic accent. I always try to hide mines because I hate it when people ask me where I am from and when I tell them they get disappointed for some reason. Anyways I just want to say thanks much for sharing your experiences/stories. I hope you post more it's nice to know there are others out there that are going through this experience. I always felt like I was the only one who struggles with this. Your videos make me feel better just because it shows me that I am not the only one with this out there. Thank you much.
