Hey Babe! If you’ve seen my Fall Haul you know that I mentioned I wanted to lighten a pair of Levi’s jeans that I thrifted! It ended up being a SUPER quick tutorial so I hope it’s helpful and sorry for how abrupt/short it is, but bleaching denim really doesn’t take long at all. I wanted to make sure I included an exact amount of bleach to water ratio + an exact time that I left it in to get my exact results since it can be hard to know exactly when to pull the denim out for your desired color! Please don’t forget to LIKE this video if it was helpful and SUBSCRIBE to stay in touch with me! Have a wonderful day; so much love from me to you ♡ xx, Ellen.

In case you didn't catch it:
I forgot to mention please make sure to do this in a well ventilated area- I did it outside!
1. bucket of warm 2 gallons of water and add 2 cups of regular bleach
2. wait 20 minutes and add another cup of bleach
3. wait 7 minutes and take the denim out
4. wash and dry them like you would regularly! (don't forget to only put it in with whites though so you don't bleach your other clothes!)
I love how quick you got to the point
I don’t normally comment on stuff like this but this definitely worked!! I made sure to move the jeans around every five minutes to make sure the bleach got every on the jeans. I just took them out the washer and they look way lighter than before. Hope this helps someone
how long did you keep them in?
Thank you so much for that advice I wouldn't have thought of that, they turned out perfectly now . Thank you! You saved my jeans😅
Did any part of the Jeans streak or bleached lighter on some areas ..Im worried it will miss certain parts of the jeans in that bucket regardless of moving around :(
@@runaway_36 No it was even around. I would just say make sure you have a big enough bucket to put the jeans in.
damn that was fast!
miguel lagos ikr
miguel lagos but it was on point haha 😂
that was weirdly short!
Probably because she fucked up
p Hs she showed them in the beginning?
Sarah L why doesn’t she show the front then?
I was expecting to see the results :(
The first 17 seconds of the video are the end result of the jeans. I included the thumbnail in the beginning which are real photos of the before and after of the jeans using this method. Hope that helps!
@@elorabee Perfect! Thank you!
Justin me too!!
Please bear in mind that they will look much darker when wet, if you wait untill they are the shade you want in the bucket then they will be way too light!
Thank you so much for a no BS video!! We need more of these on TH-cam!! ;) I wish I could have seen what they looked like when you pulled them out!
thanks for putting specific measurements! a lot of other videos didn't do it
Finally, an intelligent video showing how to do this, without taking 26 minutes. :) Thank you!
beautifully edited and straight to the point!!
I’d like to say thank you for calling me a babe. I like that much better than what other youtubers do
I used this technique moments ago. I agitated the jeans for about 14 min with 3 cups of bleach. I also watched the Clorox tutorial that uses a small pan/bucket as well. With this technique you must agitate the jeans. I used the bath tub method before and still got blotches. This method works best for me. In the tub, if every part of the jean isn't submerged, you will have blotches.
It would have been nice to see how they turned out :|
Strrfkrrr She did? The clips of her on the beach wearing them?

Same color to me lol 😂 😂 😂
Thank god just a short video so I didn't really waste my time, thumbs down 👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼
qick and to the point...i like it.
No matter what you do do not leave the jeans in the bleach, you have to keep agitating them! I left my jeans sitting for two long and they came out blotchy! Please don’t make the same mistake…😭
Exactly thats what I am worried about ugh...
It didn't work. It came out splotchy. How do I fix it?
ugh those jeans looked so cute
Boom exactly the how to I needed and in a minute! Gunna try these with some Jorts this weekend
I tried this and it’s blotchy.. could I put them in bleach again so the darker areas get lighter? Or will the lighter areas get even more lighter...?
I keep getting dark splotches on the back, what am I doing wrong? The front looks perfect
Stir it more so the bleach gets everywhere evenly
How much did the red tag get faded? It was never really in focus during the video. And did it harm the leather tag at all?
The leather tag would get a bit lighter, however if u don't want it changed u can try putting tape on it
So amount of bleach is proportional to how much u lighter u want?
No. The amount of time is. She was rushing and added more bleach...
I worry that the levis label will bleach out. I saw yours didn’t! Hmmm
Yeah, well I just ruined a brand new $70 pair of jeans. Use the bathtub technique or the fade will look splotchy and uneven. I just don't have a bathtub. I KNEW using a bucket was a dumb idea, but this video made it seem like it would work fine. You need to stress to agitate it really often if you're forced to have to use a bucket.
Thank you for the tip!! Will definitely use the bathtub technique
thanks theres a dark stain in this jeans i got in the middle of the zipper and it looks like a piss stain 😫😫
El yeah mine too... that bleach oxidized and turned them yellow🤣🤣🤣
Thank you. So it was 7 minutes total?
27 min total... 20 with 2 cups of bleach... then a 3rd cup was added for the final 7 min.
Will it work for all black jeans ?
I just wanna know if I can bleach my grey pants
How many ml is a cup?
My Levi's didn't change color at all
Will it bleach the the Levi’s label
A little bit
love that its a minute long video
won’t it turn white?
THIS IS PERFECT
straight to the point girl love it
thank you so much for going straight to the point
doesn't this weaken the denim?
it does
yeah it does actually. i tried to bleach a pair of shoes because of some stains. it was made of some canvas sort of material (it was a pair of keds) and i did leave it submerged in bleach for quite a while. and i was left with shoes that had tears on it. i guess it would depend on the concentration of the bleach and the amount of time you leave it submerged. bleach is a very strong solution.
Angelle Melise Agtay lmao same. I did it with my keds shoes too.
I like this tips ! definitely will try it !!!!
Where da video
And... the end of video??!... 🤔🤔🤔
