    APX 600. Due to changes in the internal bracing. Increased the low end, enhanced the mids and added more high end sparkle. Doesn’t that just mean the guitar is louder than its APX 500 predecessor?

    I owned an APX4a 20+ years ago & should have kept it. It was an excellent all-rounder. That sweepable mid control is a big deal, as you can modify the character of the guitar for different songs. I now own several types of guitar but if I were starting again I'd just have an APX 6-string & a 12. It's all you need. Spend your money on a nice amp & some tasty FX.

    I like Yamaha, I've played Transacoustics, and I own an LSTA, but I'm sorry they have a serious design flaw - I've been talking to Yamaha management about it, but they're giving me the brush off.
    I realize it's not uncommon for even expensive electro-acoustics to have a badly designed end jack strap button, but this one is the worst - you can't get most straps onto it, and any you do get on fall off - and you definitely can't fit a strap lock.
    It's ironic because the manual says make sure to do that to protect your £800 guitar from damage, but in that case you need to forget about playing standing up!
    After a while I WAS able to wangle something precariously on there, but here's the killer - you have to take the strap off every time you change the batteries (and it eats batteries) because the numpty who designed it put the battery compartment right by the strap button jack.
    It didn't even come with a front button fitted, so that was extra, but just as well because at least that one is now right!
    And there's no need for any of this - I also have a £600 Yamaha AC3R, and that came with 2 nice deep buttons that will take any strap and any strap lock, and the battery compartment is on the shoulder - so why didn't they use the same buttons on the Transacoustics?!
    And finally I'm not impressed with the TA just plain acoustic - you need the effects on - nor do I rate it plugged into an amp or PA - if you want to plug in the AC3 sounds great, and it has a huge range of controls to tweak the sound, so as far as I'm concerned the TA's are a one trick pony.

      SuperJeremiah333 yes!!!! Yamaha was my first acoustic and no longer play them. That strap deal was a deal breaker and gave me ptsd, lol. It was a pain to load on straps and replace batteries.

    • @tohaason
      @tohaason 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The end jack strap button is indeed the one thing I don't like on my Transacoustic. Surprising that it's possible to go wrong about such a simple thing.

    • @SuperJ333
      @SuperJ333 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@tohaason Yes - well alas it's the same the world over, and especially so on the internet, websites, and software companies.
      At the end of my phone calls to eBay or TalkTalk or whoever, they often say 'is there anything else I can do for you?'
      I often say 'yes, could you please find a big sheet of paper and a marker pen, write 'IF IT AIN'T BROKE, DON'T FIX IT' on it, take it over to the tech guys or design team, pin it on the wall, and say 'OK meatheads, this means you!''
      On a more positive note, if you use an Ernie Ball strap they have thin leather ends, and there's just room for a D'Addario guitar strap safety clip to fit on over it.
      You still have to take everything off to change the batteries of course, and yes, we could design something better than this half an hour after having a pre-frontal lobotomy, but at least it's possible to overcome the problem with a little ingenuity, and at a modest expense!
      And just to say that following my first post, I'm warming to it plugged in now, especially if I don't use the built-in effects...

    Why do you only demonstrate the guitar using a pick,,you only get the true sound of a guitar by finger picking,,otherwise it's just the sound of plastic on metal,,it's not producing a natural sound,,,a guitar is supposed to be played,,not banged like a drum,,
