3 things I would like to add to the video... 1.) All the pad functions and even every single pad on both pages can be changed to the function you desire. You can do something as stupid as replacing pad fx, beat jump, sampler, keybord etc. to hot cues if you want. 2.) I nedded about 6 to 8 hours to get used to using decks 3 and 4 and it was the first time I used 4 decks. It is somewhat easy to take track of which deck you have selected because jogewheels change its base colour to light blue (it also shows the number of deck selected, but its quite small). You can also see all chanels side by side on screen (the two controlled by the controller have a blue line on top of the channel with a number of the deck above it) 3) mixer section of the mixer works (if it's set to line/phono) even if controller isn't connected to your PC, it needs to be turned on though. Pad FX and FX section on the controller also work on Line/phono inputs but you have to be connected to a computer for it to work.
Thanks for the review. I just got one of these today and the first thing I noticed was the sound quality was much much better than my DDJ-SR. Night and day difference. Much more bass and volume and punch. Been playing with it all day and love it. First time using Rekordbox and it's pretty easy to use. Been using Traktor pro software the last 6 years but I think I may like this as much. One bit of advice when you do your videos - get a mic - lots of echo in your video. Peace out!

I think you'd find that the DDJ 400 controller does have a beat FX but rather than a dial it had a button which you press and shows the effects on the software.
loved the 400, just moved up to the 1000 and its worth every penny if you want the closest nexus feel besides the xdj with screen on top, i didnt like that design in my honest opinion which is why i went with the 1000 4 channel and seeing my displays on my jogs

On tech spec, the sound cards are the same. I think the difference is that the 800 is AC powered vs USB bus powered on the 400 so output is likely louder on the 800 which can be perceived as sounding better.
From what ive seen of the differences between the 800 and 1000. If your playing lots of gigs booth setups arent that big so the 800 might win that aspect w its compact size. It really depends if you feel like you need a 4 channel unit or a 2 channel. And whether you plan to take it with you to many shows.

Mine keeps displaying no audio driver on my turntables , I’ve reuploaded the driver onto my Mac etc and can’t solve how to fix it , so you know how to fix this ?

I got the DDJ 800 recently and the moment i installed the software and turned the hardware on, recordbox would crash and then carry on playing the song then crash again without me doing anything at all. What to do ☹️ I mailed to pioneer dj but they want a video of the issue but it will happen anytime while playing song in 1 to 2 hours. Please reply 🙏
Hey man, I know pioneer state they don't support AMD processor's. However my DDJ 400 works fine with my laptop. Do you know if the DDJ 800 works with an AMD? Cheers mate

If the solution above didn't work. Look up on how to disable driver security when you boot your computer. If I remember right it's probably f7 or f8 just reboot your computer and spam until you see the screen

Audio driver for the controller is available in the Rekordbox installation folder, by the way. Rekordbox automatically downloads all of the drivers for all of their DDJs and compatible CDJs. You can also start the device driver installation by going to Preferences - Controller - Audio.

Yes you can. You have 3 effects for mic (echo, reverb and pitch), but you have to turn them on or off on your computer. I think you can also use the fx section but you have to asign master output for the fx to apply on mic (that would mean that every song/sound you are playing at the moment is going to be afected by selected fx)
Does it work with dvs? Say I need to connect a turntable to channel 4, do I choose 2 decks mode or 4 decks mode ? Does effects still work as well? I’m generally thinking of using 2 channels only.
why is the center of the DDJ 800 made out of plastic? It is actually garbage if you open it and look. Most of the other videos I seen someone open these up the center is metal. This thing a 90% Plastic

Honestly for the amount of money your spending which isnt much less, your better just saving a little harder and getting a ddj 1000

Which is best 800 or 1000?
It depends on who is going to use it and for what. DJing is not the same everywhere.
1000, it's 4 channel and bigger and the whole set up is the closet you will get to a controller that imitates the nexsus

Had mine a month now with zero issues, top quality piece of kit in my albeit limited experience. Mixes sound good on playback.

Had mines over a year no problems I actually bought 2 that stays in the coffin and 2nd one is my go to 1 for small and quick events
