Necessity is the mother of invention.
Excellent adaptations to the filter. :)

    Great video!
I'm so glad I found this, it didn't directly address the issue I had, but the disassembly and reassembly got me to double check. Turns out you need to make sure it has all the parts in it. Go figure. Lol, thank you very much!

Excellent tips I love your creative fixes for the fluval filter . I wish I had thought of them when I had that filter. Awesome material

Thanks for the video! I watched many videos and did not come across any of them showing you how to get rid of the filter noise but I love how clean these tanks stay. I was losing so many fish before I discovered the Fluval smaller tanks. I used to have a 10 gallon tank but due to my medical condition had to go with a 2.6 gallon tank or less. Its so much harder to keep fish in a smaller tank. The Aquarium kits sold have terrible filters.

Yeah. Those filters leave something to be desired. I actually replaced all my filters with sponge filters. Just much easier that way. A little more noisy, but very efficient. =)

I tried your method of setting up the filter underwater (ensuring all the bubbles came out) and unfortunately it's still somewhat "noisy". (It isn't extremely noisy, but I can still hear the filter running in the other room while I'm in my home office working all day. So you can understand why I'm looking to soften that rattle even more).

    very cool tips!
yeah these filters gave me such a headache after awhile i replaced them with a little aquaclear 20. opened up more space in the tank but left no room on the top for the glass cover.
i still use the nano filters stuffed full of filter floss in the larger tanks to polish the water when im doing water changes. you can even turn them upside down with the intake just poking out the water to help with any build up of protein scum on the surface of the water.

I LOVE this!! I have tried the pantyhose method and it was a huge headache and debris would get clogged on the hose and stop the suction. lol love the cat issue... I have a cat that thinks my tanks are for her sole entertainment :)

I got my fluval nano second hand, and it is missing two of the filter media. I put leca balls in mine but it was a hassle because they float. Now I have learned that leca balls are one of the worst performing medium along with other small-pored ceramics so I want to switch to all spunge, but I can't find a single place that sells the sponge for this filter. I heard plastic scrubbers were also decent, but I can't find a shop that sells those either.

OK now make a "how to cat proof your tank" video. I'm getting sick and tired of finding cat hairs in my tank because she loves to dip her paw by the filter :P

Thanks for doing the homework! All the other videos only bitch, whine and complain about the noise - you have produced a SOLUTION! Ordered the filter through Amazon after watching you.

Hi! Nice video! Does the filter make any noice at all(even a quiet humming noice) after taking the bubbles out? Thanks!

Why don't you put in the cut piece of biofoam first (second after the big section) and then the middle section, that way it will be easier to put it together. Great video!

Ugly and dirty parts and surface film. These are what Fluval give us and users have to spent time to fix their design faults. Stay away from them.
