First, allow me to say that all of the speakers done a great job with their explanation except for Pastor Rivers who seems to use a conversion message rather than to address the subject of re-imagining Pentecostalism. The dogma stigma is still in the minds of Pentecostal preachers who refuse to expand their understanding. The methodology is getting old, times has change and people are changing. The holiness dogma message is not the subject of the evening. The key issue is to address where Pentecostalism would be in the near future if Pentecostals continue to stay on this destructive course of dogma theology. It seems that Pastor Rivers is center around sexism with using words to construct his theology. This methodology is very dangerous for the future of Pentecostals. There was a moment of silence and confusion among the audience during the time that Pastor Rivers reflection on this subject and there was a outbreak of disagreement among one of the member in the audience that led Dr. Reid to address the issue of respect. If Pentecostalism is going to flourish in the near future, there has to be a change on how to address restrictive doctrines and understanding of people who beliefs are different. More dialog concerning this subject is much needed throughout Christian churches around the world.
