It is always difficult for me to find a book that I can just sink into and binge without worrying about the time. But I really want to try reading Sorcery of Thorns, the fantasy-romance aspect really intrigues me :)
Sorcery of Thorns is my comfort book, I read it when I was going through a rough patch and it brought me such bubbly bursts of joy. I totally feel you when you say that it's a book that defines your taste, I'm so glad you had such a fun time!
the way we have such absolute TASTE in books!!! im reading spy x family too and i actually can't believe how wholesome it was especially in the first two volumes. also i accidentally read vol 7 before vol 6 and let me tell you that VOL 8 is just gonna be 🤯 also i got the first three volumes of blue flag bc of you. there's also another BL that i liked about a boy who falls in love with another boy with a hearing disability called, i hear the sunspot. title? perfection. also i miss you, come visit me please.

Sorcery of Thorns gave me SUCH cozy feels. I could literally feel myself melting into the pages and feeling myself literally IN the book when the libraries or some other things were getting described. I don't know what was so special about the descriptions, but there certainly _was_ something.
There's something about Hannah's voice that is so cathartic. I could simply hear her talk about books for hours and hours and hours and not complain. Also, so tempted to read Sorcery Of Thorns.
Sorcery of Thorns is definitely in my top 5 favorite books ever. As a fun story, this was the first book I bought that kicked off my pandemic book buying (re: coping mechanism) and before I ordered it I didn’t realize the author was kind of local to one of my favorite bookstores. So the book I ordered online (because not leaving the house) ended up being a signed copy because Joseph Beth tends to stock tons of autographed copies, especially of local authors, if they do a signing in store. I was so delighted by that! Favorite recent read: Alchemists of Loom by Elise Kova.

I also didn’t like an enchantment of ravens but I LOVED a sorcery of thorns, and I think you’ll really like her other book Vespertine too, it’s more along the lines of sorcery of thorns than an enchantment of ravens ♥️

I’m Arab and we study Arabic since elementary till high school in my country, and even with that Arabic poetry is hard to understand because as you said it’s like a whole another level of a language. It needs practice and honestly personal interest to learn new vocabulary. Especially Arabic is such a deep language.

Yessss! Sorcery of Thorns was SO GOOD! I also didn't love An Enchantment of Ravens, but Vespertine was also very enjoyable (though I still liked SoT better).

Blue Flag was sooo beautiful and yes i know which scene you talked about but i didnt mind it that much since i was just so invested into the characters!! Really the message and the problems the characters have were just so realistic and beautifully done and the blond guy was just EVERYTHING !! The look in his eyes whenever he "loved " made me always so emotional and the main character was such a relatable character for me

Vespertine was one of the best books I read last year, I feel like Margaret Rogerson took everything that worked in Sorcery of Thorns and just built upon it. This book was such a fun rush, had such an interesting world, that still managed to feel soft despite how dark it was.
I read Sorcery of Thorns back when it released in 2019… it was one of the first books I read after going on a 4 year book hiatus in high school. It was instrumental in getting me back into reading, though I’m not sure if I’d still like it since I have so much to compare to now, but I would love to revisit it someday!

I listened to Vespertine first and really liked it, and I forgot I had A Sorcery of Thorns unread on my bookshelf… thank you for reminding me because this book was everything!
