The 27 year old Luzardo has promise, but isn't even *CLOSE* to what Crochet is. In parts of 6 seasons his ERA is 4.29 and 6.8 total WAR in 512 innings. In his one complete year (178 innings) he had a 3.58 ERA. If we're going to value players on potential and ignore injuries, then the Cubs should just send former #1 Brennen Davis. Equally absurd.
I think Burnes is going to the GIants. Sasaki is going either to the Angels, Padres, or Mariners. The Os are going to trade for starting pitchers. The thing about free agency is free agents get to choose where to go. I don't think most free agents want to go to Baltimore. The Sugano deal is because we're waiting for our injured pitchers to come back the following year.
I think the Orioles admitted failure when Rogers was sent down to Triple A. I think they might trade either Rogers or Povich now with the Sugano signing.
Why would teams make trades? Just to move money around? Id bet anything that owners are realizing that they have to invest 100s of millions more than what they ever have just to compete and most of the owners (90%) don't want to gamble what it takes because of the super teams that are being built. No matter what anyone says from here on out, this is going to be a Dodger Yankees and Mets league for the foreseeable future and that is unwatchable for 90% of MLB's fan base
The Orioles still need a No. 1 pitcher like Dylan Cease or one or two others. I think they should have offered the prospects to get Crochet, who went to the Red Sox. teoscar is cheap at the price you suggested, which should get a lot of teams in.
The Dodgers wisely extended a qualifying offer which Teo rejected on Nov. 19th, but that means if he signs with another team, that other team will lose draft picks and international pool money at a time when Sasaki is coming over to MLB. Nobody is going to do that for a player the caliber of Teoscar Hernandez. Nobody!
The Texas Rangers are owned by very rich people. Any "financial constraint" verbiage is cover for them not wanting to sign a player. They can compete with the Doyers if they wanted to spend. Don't get it twisted.
Considering, something was said that the Rangers offered Fried 7 years. Maybe Burnes to the Rangers maybe. Theres's speculation the Rangers are interested in Sasaki. But time will tell. I'd like to see Yates back with the Rangers.
@@Ryan-gz9xg Steele and Shota have serious potential. I just think adding someone like Luzardo could give the rotation that extra edge to truly compete at the highest level.
@@christophercampbell2929 Fair point! Another lefty could crowd the rotation, but I think Luzardo’s upside might be worth it. They still need a clear ace to anchor the staff, though.
Tomo falls way short for what is needed to move forward. Povich is not ready! O's should offer Seattle: Mountcastle, Mayo, Povich, and Beavers or Fabian for Gilbert or Miller.
They should trade for Dylan Cease , Cubs need a number 1 or 2 starting pitcher and a some help in the bullpen. Trade either Suzuki or bellinger and the only prospect that should be untouchable is Shaw. Like the idea of trading for guys in their walk year( they are motivated to do well )
IMO if Vladdy does not get an extension neither should Mark Shapiro 1 yr. left and Ross Atkins 2 yrs left get extensions on their contracts. This is how Edward Rogers should treat those two, cause the fans has lost confidence in the Blue Jays FO
If Elias is cheap now, is he going to be cheap later when they need to extend Adley/Gunnar/etc.? If you will spend later, why not spend now on a top tier pitcher while you don't have to pay those other guys?
During the Tyler O'Neill intro call yesterday, Boras said the Orioles are heavily focused on extending the guys they drafted and developed. Boras clients in Baltimore include Henderson, Holliday and Westburg
I don't think the phillies are a fit for Teoscar Hernandez because they already have a Teoscar Hernandez in Nick Castellanos.....doesn't mve the needle at all.
The Blue Jays needed to sign Vladdy in an extension before Soto made his decision but they didnt so now we will lose Vladdy of the Jays will pay massive! The Head office needs to be fired
Don't like that deal at all from Cubs perspective. I don't mind giving up either Cassie or Alcantara for Luzardo, but not both of our top OF prospects with no guarantee Tucker extends or resigns.
Yeah, I see I'm just echoing other comments here, but your Cubs-Marlins trade proposal is one of the absolute worst I've ever seen, which is really saying something this time of year. Normally I'd at least be polite about this but feel it's necessary to be blunt here - you can't keep going off strictly what BTV says without bringing in any logic, common sense, critical thinking, etc., and expect to grow or even hold an audience on this channel. Maybe it's just clickbait, and consider me baited on this one, but it's wild to put that proposal on screen and speak to it with a straight face. I'll let all the other comments here stand on the specifics of why it's so egregious.
That Cubs - Luzardo deal is a non-starter. That’s a massive overpay for a guy who has health issues and is not a #1.
5:23 its a good deal so long as its in addition to another signing or trade for a pitcher
That’s the worst mock trade I’ve seen in my life. Cassie for Lesuardo straight up is a loss for the cubs
O’s fan-Sugano deal is a sweet pick up. Profiles nice with Eflin. We get an ace and I’m feeling good about the season

I think Canario could be an interesting piece in a luzardo deal imo.
Insane overpay for Luzardo by an injured pitcher who struggles with giving up runs. No thanks

Caissie and ALcantara in same deal never happening No way on Cubs end
That Cubs/Marlins trade is AWFUL.
That would be a 'hell no' on trading Cassie in the package. Substitute Triantos.
I think the Orioles admitted failure when Rogers was sent down to Triple A. I think they might trade either Rogers or Povich now with the Sugano signing.
If I’m the cubs I’m not giving up alcantara
Why the offseason is being going too slowly after winter meetings? We are not going to see more trades?

The cubs are not giving up both Caissie and Alcantara
Scott Boras + Jon Heyman shilling for Boras = annual mystery team report from Heyman
The Orioles still need a No. 1 pitcher like Dylan Cease or one or two others. I think they should have offered the prospects to get Crochet, who went to the Red Sox. teoscar is cheap at the price you suggested, which should get a lot of teams in.
Giving up draft picks for Teo will deflate his market a bit
The Dodgers wisely extended a qualifying offer which Teo rejected on Nov. 19th, but that means if he signs with another team, that other team will lose draft picks and international pool money at a time when Sasaki is coming over to MLB. Everyone is interested in Sasaki, he is basically free
@Mr91Jmay I've heard CY has been scouting Roki and has had communications with him ever since he was in school. Time will tell.
I honestly think the Tomoyuki Sugano signing is just to build their pitch to influence Roki Sasaki to sign with them.
and he's not impressed 😂 Ohtani and Yamamoto on your team is a no-brainer
I was thinking the same thing. Maybe not, but the hot stove season is dream season so who knows. A Sugano/Sasaki off-season would be an intriguing one
How are the Cubs going all-in without a proper ace rotation? Adding Luzardo might save their 2025, but it’s starting to feel like a patchwork dream.
Shota and Steele are both capable of being Ace’s so what are you talking about?
I dont think the Cubs need another lefty.
@@Ryan-gz9xg Steele and Shota have serious potential. I just think adding someone like Luzardo could give the rotation that extra edge to truly compete at the highest level.

@GameinHistory Maybe Belli in a deal for Luis Castillo. Seattle desperately needs a bat to pair with Julio and Raleigh..
Tomo falls way short for what is needed to move forward. Povich is not ready! O's should offer Seattle: Mountcastle, Mayo, Povich, and Beavers or Fabian for Gilbert or Miller.
I dont see Texas extending the payroll to that extent. Only 2 years after WS Champs, its highly unlikely for the $ needed for Burnes
Not with caissie involved
Cubs better not make that deal. Owen Caissie stays.
Rangers were allegedly in on Max Fried, so Corbin makes sense.
Lol, close to or as large of a deal as tuckers, no way that gets done
As a marlins fan, plz take luzardo, he's a headache with the amount of runs he gives up, and the injuries.
What’s up yall. Any deals yet?
Marlinsfan here give me that trade all day

The Rangers were in on Max Fried even when they were trying to resign Eovaldi. So the Rangers may be in on Burnes.
This is not the. End got another deal for a frontline starter coming
Corbin Burnes would be cool but it would take up all our money before luxury tax and we still need Bullpen arms
IMO if Vladdy does not get an extension neither should Mark Shapiro 1 yr. left and Ross Atkins 2 yrs left get extensions on their contracts. This is how Edward Rogers should treat those two, cause the fans has lost confidence in the Blue Jays FO
It's pretty sad that Toronto has all of the money but no one wants to sign with them.
Arizona is most likely the mystery team.
Burnes- Nationals

Not trading Cassie, need him in case they can't resign Tucker for 2025.
Jim u r out of your mind Caissie, Alcantara and Wiggins is way too much
Idk it’s weird that Teoscar hasn’t signed
That’s a easy deal bro
As a Cubs fan I don’t like it, overpay forsure
I don't think the phillies are a fit for Teoscar Hernandez because they already have a Teoscar Hernandez in Nick Castellanos.....doesn't mve the needle at all.
He is in the trade block
Yeah absolutely not Cassie will not be going in a deal it’s Triantos. Cassie isn’t leaving unless Tucker is locked up
The Blue Jays needed to sign Vladdy in an extension before Soto made his decision but they didnt so now we will lose Vladdy of the Jays will pay massive! The Head office needs to be fired
Don't like that deal at all from Cubs perspective. I don't mind giving up either Cassie or Alcantara for Luzardo, but not both of our top OF prospects with no guarantee Tucker extends or resigns.

Yankees should steal Lazzardo in a deal just like the cubs did with Tucker.
Yall can have him lol dudes getting WAY too much hype for a 4+ ERA and a 3.50 at his BEST.
Corbin Burnes would be cool but it would take up all our money before luxury tax and we still need Bullpen arms
