Thank you for all the written musical information details.
This is a wonderful piano recital that I will save among my
most favorites musical recitals.
This pianist is a real prodigious gift for his fans,
Muchos grasias!
Herzlichen Dank ! 🌹🙂

Thanks!
Oh my god, what a pianist! Undescribable.
Good or Bad?
Was there; everything was excellent, but the Rameau outstanding. I had never heard it interpretated on a modern piano before.
I was in Milan (at Scala) and I totally agree with you. Rameau has been out of Solar System.
The greatest pianist of the time!!!🎉
Just heard this same program tonight in Dallas. An amazing experience. The lushness of the Ramaeu was
unexpected and swept me away. This guy wrings so much music from the composition, if you know what I mean. The Mozart was bright, yet had an ache, an undercurrent of melancholy. The Mendelssohn was thrilling. An incredible evening.
I heard the same one in Madrid a few months ago. It was truly amazing
Thx! Great to be prepared! I will hear him this saturday may 4th in Zutich Switzerland
It will be special.

*🎻 Listening to classical music is like having a conversation with the past, as if the great composers are sharing their stories with us.*
Listening to classical music is really like having a conversation about the present. The concerns, the loves, the passions and the crises these composers faced are still very much our own.
I heard the same program at Alla Scala in Milan, magical!
Merci.
Ramaeu is out of this world!
Asisti i disfruté del mismo programa en El Palau de la Música Catalana, fue maravilloso verlo i escuchrlo 👏👏👏👏👏💕

Many thanks to BARRON de SCHLÖZER! It´s a really a great thig for me to see and to hear DANIIL TRIFONOV, one of my favourites on the piano, with the same program he played in Munich only some few days later. His concert was a big sensation in the local press, too.
Yes!! I wonder how he obtained the audio, the quality is good.

Heard him live playing this yesterday❤
His Rameau is very different from the one of Sokolov but no less beautiful.
I think Sokolovs Rameau is wayyyy superior. This is tepid and unduly romanticized. Tries to sound improvisatory but is just undisciplined.
@@Pogouldangeliwitz I have to agree. As much as it goes against all principles of music making, sometimes someone achieves something so close to perfection that there seems to be no point in trying something different. However, I wonder why Sokolov has avoided this suite in particular.
@@shawnmand5607 I'd take one mordant by Sokolov over Le Trifs complete suites...
@@Pogouldangeliwitz I share the sentiment! What a shame that Glenn Gould never touched Rameau... of those alive today except for Sokolov and maybe Pletnev, Pogorelich and Volodos would be most welcome in baroque repertoire. I also cannot stand Andras Schiff's shallowness and hand-breaking that many mistake for grace and profundity.
@@shawnmand5607 I thought precisely of Glenn Gould (and specifically of his Byrd and Gibbons recordings) when I heard this lukewarm rendition !
Pogo nowadays would be a train wreck in baroque repertoire. 30 years ago - one can only dream.
Volodos: sure thing. Everything he touches becomes pure warm gold.
Don't agree at all concerning Schiff, but well: people have different tastes and I can understand he's not everyone's cup of tea. Anyway he hasn't played anything baroque except for (all) Bach and a little Händel, to my knowledge. Has he even played Scarlatti ever?
He is coming to Saint Paul this weekend!
I will be there too!!! Weather permitting...I hope they are wrong about the snow storm!

This same program at DA CAMERA (Houston) on March 22nd … no idea whether it is sold out.
GO!!!!
The "Hammerklavier" starts at 59' 55". I'm sorry if this sounds naive, but it is the main work in this concert. Shouldn't there have been a longer pause before it, and shouldn't the "more" tell us where each work begins? I'm sure that it can be done even now.
The main work is the Rameau :)
@@TorAndreKongelf In terms of innovation, yes. I also notice that the erudite @davisatdavis1 had already give us the breakdown of movements, but couldn't that be given under "more" at the top of the page?
No, the rameau is the opener. The main work is the hammerklavier, if only because it is the second half.
Two minutes are too hard to be quiet - even at Carnegie! 📞))
In no outer Concertplace are so much People coughing and making all Kinds of Noise as in this famous Carnegie Hall !
Certainly a truth in it, but ringtones from telefons are definitely not worth becomming a Standard.
Do I mistake or is Trifonov in op 106 technically a bit shaky? Maybe he doesn't play the work for so long or is nervously overwhelmed. In any case, he is not as confident as Sokolov or Pollini in his good years.
His fragile site in this Performance is very charming, I feel. Very simple emotionally, therefore very deep.
The opening bars of Op 106 sounded pretty smudged and blustery to me.
I mean, opus 106 is suuuuper difficult and Le Trif is technically just OK, but nothing to write home about. So no wonder he struggles here. In all fairness, greater musicians than he will ever be have been tested to their limits by the first and the last movement. The fugue is just pure horror. One of the best live renditions of the Hammerklavier I keep coming back too is Alexander Lonquichs. He's no crowd pleaser but unlike Le Trif he's such a profound, thoughtful musician.

Rameau è in la b min
For some reason that Rameau suite is a half tone low, whereas the other pieces are on pitch (though a tiny tad low). Does he actually play it in a flat !?
I think so, I was also surprised to hear it in a flat…I suppose he wanted to imitate the old tuning…
@@mariusfelixlange6709If that is so, that's the most fucked up, sorry: trifed up thing I've ever been unlucky enough to hear with my bleeding ears : playing Rameau on a modern concert piano in a 2000+ seats 19th-century hall and in a very romanticized, absolutely not historically informed way - but a half tone low in order to sound "authentic"...
Can it get any more ridiculous ?

Rameau is transitional and lends itself beautifully to what Trifonov brings to it. There are intrinsic flaws in this music due to Rameau's "theories". Trifonov overcomes that, miraculously and plentifully.
I don't think there are "flaws". This music simply requires a pianist like Trifonov or Sokolov to "see"...
Flaws ? Trifonov is nothing besides Rameau
The Trif is the flawed one here, not The Ram!

59:52 Did he really start the Beethoven in the middle of applause or is that just horrible editing?
It's really a bad Edicting. I was listening to a Live Stream.
Purtroppo non all'altezza dei brani proposti...
Pauvre Mendelssohn ...
