    Just One IMPORTANT disappointing design factor needs to be mentioned. Two USB ports are required for full operation. No “y” connector or pass through, owning both, my cheaper cooler master requires only One port with pass through. So an external USB HUB is required with the massive 20. Disappointing to see from a top tier priced cooling pad produced by a reputable company.

    OK first and foremost it's a really cool gimmick, but for me, it does a decent job. It works off one usb port, and it is huge!!! I have a HP 15 bc405nv, i5 8300h, 1050ti, and a HP omen 17 i7 8750h, 1070, on the 15 inch, I get about 3-4 cm of room front and back and 2-3 cm on the sides, on the 17 it's just right on the sides with about 2 cm of room up front and back. Both of these machines have some of the worst cooling systems around, where I would get temps of 80 plus degrees on the package, 70-80 on cpu's and gpu's just by loading a few things like open browsers and tabs, downloading torrents and playing Bioshock infinite at the same time. I am getting temp drops of around 10 degrees for the package and cpus, and around 7-8 degrees for the gpus so I'm more than happy. The best thing is, the centre of the omen keyboard, and the right side keyboard of the 15 are no longer boiling hot plates, they are still warm, but nothing like before. It is a bit on the pricey side, and I don't know how long it will last, just have to wait and see.

    Great review! If i could infer, you should try to undervolt the CPU and if possible repaste the thermal paste on the CPU and also the GPU and clean any dust that may have bulit up in your system and that should greatly benefit your temperatures. In fact, include the cooling pad also after said is done, for even better temperatures and performance. Running the CPU and/or GPU (NOT the GPU in this case because it's within fine temp for a laptop) in the 90* degrees Celsius range will reduce the life span of your hardware. I suggest because your CPU core clock is fluctuating quite a bit which may lead to stuttering and low GPU usage. Just a suggestion, have a wonderful day everyone!

      I did this on my alienware 17 r4, changed pads as well, great temps after...........but HELL is it a painful job to do...

  • @michaelwalls7056
    @michaelwalls7056 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Just disable turbo feature on CPU. It most cases, it's not even needed. It will make a massive difference regarding overheating. No need to undervolt and taking the chance of bricking your system.

    Hello! Sorry i have a question again. I just bought this fan and im just curious how hard does the air blow when its on the highest setting? Because at the highest mine doesnt blow much air at all. Like can you feel it significantly strong when it blows?

    • @the_loot_gamer
      @the_loot_gamer  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Olesya honestly it doesn’t really make a massive difference. At max speed temps do go down as per the video. You dean feel the pressure when you remove the laptop but I would advise lifting the feet the maximum height to allow more circulation of air.
