When Melody Steyn was 27 she thought life held no surprises for her. Although she lived with Type 1 Diabetes, it was well managed. But a pregnancy complication with her first child saw her lose her vision entirely. Melody had to cope with adjusting to being blind, at the same time as becoming a new mum - to a son later diagnosed with Autism. If that wasn't enough, the young family were also in the process of moving from South Africa to New Zealand.
