Where'd the repairability score go at the end of the video?
What happened to the repairability scores at the end of the videos?
.01 out of 100
You need to disassemble so much to remove battery connector and make it safe from shorts by tools?
The sticks being modular is a big plus.
People the important part is your ps5 needs the strong connection it needs great upload speed consistent speeds the remote play just needs good consistent download* speeds
if i had to report a bug to youtube i would say this channel has way too little subs and it deserves to be at the top of all channels
Why? Not many people care or want to repair their own devices. It's as simple as taking it to a shop. This channel for majority of people is mid.
1 million subs isn't enough? Wtf?

A bit disappointing that the battery wasn't removable from the back so you wouldn't need to remove the screen to get at it.
Like iphone
@@tempeenak134 Like many phones. However, with this form factor they should be able to put the battery on the other side. Most likely it increases assembly time since it can't just be dropped in like most of the other components and it would need an additional plate in between it and the screen for the adhesive strips to go. Still, the effort would have been nice to see.
@@tempeenak134.....use to be,lol.
@@tempeenak134 Nope...the last 1-2 generations of iPhone you can remove the back to get to the battery, etc.
1:18 Thumbs up for using screws over solder. 👍🏾 Too bad the rumble packs are soldered, though. 😬
Rumble Pack rarely break comapred to Guaranteed Death of Joysticks
Was this video cut off?
Do you have any microstutters on performance mode every 10 to 15 seconds? It’s not a lag, but it’s like a brief moment of fps drop as the portal and ps5 try to sync with each other.
The pa5 outputs at 59.94 hz, whereas the portal outputs at 60 causing a screen stutter
Can you swap the thumb stick out to a dual sense size
Please send me the link with the right knob control module
No repair score?
Where can I buy the thumbsticks?
Great video 🤩 Do you have the reference for the sticks ? Where can we buy them ?
X2
Does It have a cooling fan? I'm a little bit worried about smoking around it
I was wondering if the portal's lifespan was limited to the joysticks. However, everything else is a bit more involved but shouldn't effect the console for at least 5 years.
Console? Ps5?
@@azimalif266 oh yeah right found the Grammer police: "Streaming console."
@@GrandPotatoegreat response😅
@@GrandPotatoe still not a console. Streaming device maybe.
@@azimalif266 Believe whatever you want to believe.
Excellent breakdown.
What? no repairability score??
This was the perfect chance to see if the regular controller thumb sticks fit in the housing. Oh well, next time
Why your only channel video plays pip on iPhone ?????? Without premium subscription
Why is there no repairability score in the Video?
4/10
what's been the most repairable device you've taken apart?
Probably the Fairphone
Oh cool. @@Melchirobin
Steam deck probably
@@toyo8460 nah definitely the framework laptop.

I hope extremerate makes shells
I love these guys so much
I would kill to mod the screen to a wireless HDMI input instead of over the Wi-Fi
❤❤❤Excelente videos muchas gracias por la información sobre los productos , faltó explicar los chips y los procesadores , marcas y si son de buena calidad, muchas gracias por su tiempo ,
I love it !!! ❤️
Can anyone tell me what is the point of every device nowadays gluing down the battery and making it as hard as possible to get access to it? It feels like 10 years ago that was never an issue. The Portal is no exception and they could have made the battery so much easier to replace without sacrificing anything. I don't get it.
what is your bloody problem
@@HishamX On devices like this, when the battery dies the only way to replace it is by using a heat gun and disassembling most of it. You will also need two sets of adhesives, one for the new battery and one for the screen. Meanwhile the device could have a cover to make the battery easily accessible because its shape can accommodate it without affecting its form. I don’t understand why Sony and most other manufacturers nowadays wont design their devices like this.
@@fgmenth Why would they do that? Once any part of the hardware dies you buy a new whole unit
@@fgmenthits cheaper to buy a new one. $200 after a few years of use is dirt cheap bud
@@Arctis326 Yeah but $50 for a new battery is 4x cheaper
Boo potentiometer sticks. I can’t believe companies went backward on analog stick tech to save a few cents and left gamers to fix their defective devices. It’s infuriating.
WHERES THE SCRORE

Sony should allow PS portal to connect to PS Plus Cloud gaming. It would be a game changer. If your in a large city and your got a recent smartphone and a good Mobile data plan which allows high speeds and a lot of data for tethering. Those that meet those requirements could play PS Cloud games anywhere they have good 4GLTE or 5G cell coverage. No PS5 required. Unfortunately old wrinkly, should have retired 30 years ago Japanese dudes think that this would prevent people from buying PS5 consoles. I think it could get even more people to buy PS5 so they can download those games and play them off cloud in high quality 4K graphics.
I'm wondering why do we have to always unglue displays to get the batteries.... why....
I am curious, if you can combine those two playstation portable controller together, and see if they would work as just controllers, even if it is smaller
Uuuu I love this
this is equivalent to wii u controller.
Awesome news, indeed about the modular thumb sticks! I got the Portal at launch and have been utterly impressed because I can play my two PS5s from anywhere.
You have multiple properties or what's the point of 2?
So no cpu 🤔🤔
This teardown is nothing compared to Quest 2 one. Very limited things to discover inside and is something similar that you found in the late 90th
Sad, it’s not really hackable to do anything else
Stick drift begone
first 1.
God god boys
Chinese phone makers and PC gaming gear manufacturers are laughing their asses off looking at Sony's complicated design.
Самая бесполезная вещь от сони
Thank goodness this device is so niche so most people won't have to worry about it's longevity.
If they had not soldered the vibration motors in I would buy one rn. Very cool product, and otherwise very reparable.
I couldn't imagine playing Elden Ring on this lag machine
It's entirely dependent on your wifi, don't blame it for your crud wifi.
@@LindonSlaght "I'm definitely picking up a bit of a delay as I play"
Linus tech tips as he uses it on 5 million GB studio speed. How about you stop being a pony. Linus shilled for this thing like no other and still had to admit lag. Ponies are sad. 150 milliseconds is a ton
@@iHaveTheDocuments a little bit of delay ≠ lag machine. What are you even trying to say lol
Speed doesn't matter when in the same network.
@@LindonSlaghtthe Wii u has much better latency than this thing (check out the digital foundry review)and that came out 10 years ago 😂😂😂
This has nothing to do with your video.
Do you know a Tablet that will keep working when it’s 20 degrees outside? No video or google will tell me that. I know the military grade will work in 110 degrees but I’ve yet to find a TH-camr who thinks war is not just in the desert. Any help would be appreciated
i can safely say im not wasting $200 on something my smartphone already does for free. heck my desktop also does this for free
But my Quest 2 for $300 does more than both combined except phone calls
How much was your phone and desktop again? Right. Oh hassle to take phone calls when using your phone? What a bummer
so great of sony, built with anti-repairability in mind. When the battery goes out your average joe will likely break the screen, and that was Sony's goal.
This is just glorified e-waste, and the fact that you have to pay 200 for it, so lame lol
It same with iphone,
@@tempeenak134Yeah, and almost every other major smartphone.
@@Tr4ns1st0r apple is the only phone manufacturer that pairs the components to the motherboard so they're literally unrapairable
@@pedr0_m198 I mean… it’s not _impossible_ to repair, it just requires more hoops than necessary. I just meant that iPhones aren’t the only smartphones that are ridiculously difficult to repair. I’m not defending Apple, but I don’t want to make it seem like any other company is perfectly innocent.
@@Tr4ns1st0r"more hoops" dude, features will literally stop working if you repair some things on your own. And the only way to get it to function again is take it to apple, and with the prices they charge is cheaper to get another phone and that's what they want.
Crap.
Wow that looks insanely poorly made and cheap quality...
No repairablity score?
