this song got me through all the pain, isolation, and loss i experienced during my time in detroit.. no matter what i lost in my personal life, the beauty of the city prevailed to me. techno healed me

I've been pondering it for a fair few years now but, I think I can comfortably say this is my favourite tune. The twinkles, drums, ethereal gasps, it all just culminates into an otherworldly eleven minutes and 40 seconds. What.A.Fucking.Chugger!
For me it's a recent discovery. Can't get enough of UR. Playing it via NAD amp, Biamp sound processor, Kramer matrix, etc. Love this kind of saturdays testing AV equipment, programming control systems and listening to this! 💖
My favorite thing is UR . The guys knew how to make a masterpiece out of nothing. And through time it is heard as a kind of revelation. A bunch of emotions and thoughts when listening. Turns the soul. sadly its not music of the future, shitty composers are slowly taking over and with older generations dying its gonna eventually disappear :( its sad because im 93' and i always choose such classics over commercial tracks full of stolen ideas just composed in fl studio....but im just one in a thousand, i dont know any single person of my gen who shares the love for 90s electronica wih me
da23injulecz The good stuff's still there, you just have to sift through a lot more rubbish to find it. Same goes with older records as well, just because they're from the 80's or 90's does not make them automatically great. Find your local scene and you'll meet others who share your taste, trust me.
da23injulecz Oohh.. We do ;) But over time u will eventually like something fresh also.. in that sense - it might not allways be good 90s techno or house track ;) But yeah, the more of us, the merrier :) Cheerz!!
Rip Davey ball a.k.a sonic insomniac. Played this at my mates funeral last week everyone in the crematorium danced the full 11 mins top send off for a top man
I eneded up having a night drinking and partying with Mike Banks and DJ Skurge in Wellington New Zealand when the played there in 2009. True story. Really nice guys.
Unforgettable tune, love it and never managed to get my hands on a copy. It’s still something I keep an eye out for to this day. The strings always reminded me of the music in the Super Castlevania IV game.
I was a kid when this was first out. I'm in my 30s now, and I hear the pulse of the street, the hood, the ghetto, all thru this. On some, we can party, but still get active, n run from the cops if need be
So right mate..... i lived this engraved records in real time. Hats down. Chicago music(call it juke as always or whatever... footwork...) is still elevating the thing we are into.
I wonder how Mike was sequencing his drums back then. Would be cool to know how he made this, almost sounds slightly out of sync in places. A magical track.
Haven't heard this for at least 15 years but still makes the hairs on my arms stand on end. Used to go to the original Bugged Out! at Sankey's Soap in Manchester and James Holroyd always played it in his warm up set, this and Carl Craig - Home Entertainment. Good times, the best music.
@@V1nc3nt2009 I've still got a promotional bar of Sankey's Soap and a metal dogtag somewhere - and an envelope full of Bugged Out! flyers. Laurent Garnier and Dave Clarke were my favourite DJ's.

It's mentioned on the Discogs review for UR-033, and I'm sure I read about it several years ago somewhere. The track is dedicated to a friend of Mike Banks who was murdered. I can't remember the exact details but Detroit is in a grim state. No wonder these artists make this music, to escape the harsh realities of life there.
Others have made perfect records, Mike Banks has made other perfect records, and again this is simply a perfect record. But this one tells you it was all worth it, and it will all be worth it, and coud go on for another ten minutes.

Amazing track. Played at a Friends funeral. He was a top musician in his own right. This track will never get old X
I want this track to be played at my funeral

Legend. Lifetime poetry.
literally almost brings tears to my eyes still
only strings of life can do that to me....
Wow. Never heard before. Melody goes straight to the heart.
Quelle grâce. Seul un artiste peut composer une telle chose. Une musique qui élève, sensoriellement, spirituellement.
Amoureux du son détroit ???
Awesome tune...was blasting this out on one of the last decent days of summer this year on an island on loch lomond-Scotland. Gave me chills...
No better way. I'm just outside Glasgow. Been to many underground party's in the highlands and loch lomond. Atmospheric tune.
