I have the same number of fingers; I use the same number of strings; I've been playing longer than this lovely wonder-weaver has been alive. . . and not once, for even 5 seconds, have I EVER achieved anything remotely comparable to her delicious outpouring of talent and sound.
The rendition of John Williams (1964) was my reference on guitar, just like Hillary Hans playing on violin. You manege to bring out all perfection but also captured the spiritual timeless universal divine essence of this masterpiece. A new standard as reference point. You are a true musician, one of the few if you know what I mean.
I wonder if you realize the happiness you bring through your videos? In these difficult times, those little moments of peace and joy are more than welcome. Thank you very much for that.
Hello Stephanie Jones, exceptional performance - there is so much energy in it. And the acoustic in this church is awesome! It is really a joy to hear and see you playing! ♥️Thanks for sharing this wonderful music with us. Be blessed and Kind regards from Germany, Bettina
Tone, Accuracy and Passion. What a combination. It must be Stephanie Jones, that's what she always brings. Thank you so much for overwhelming me - again.
Technique and artistry wonderfully blended in a performance that is transcendent. I can feel the emotional connection to the piece and your instrument. You never disappoint Stephanie, beautiful. 💖
Please, some more Sunday morning recitals like this. Do you know how great it is to hear music like this first thing Sunday morning? Doesn't have to be Bach. Fresh precise and wonderful. Just like you know how to do it. Thank you.
Remarkable and totally beautiful. Rarely have I heard Bach played with such conviction, faithfulness and deftness of skill. This interpretation has to be one of the best I've ever heard. Stephanie you are an inspiration to us all. Thank you
JUST WATCHED "Guitar by Masters Podcast #2 Stephanie Jones" and admire you even more because you have a wonderful heart and soul. I love Bach too and this performance is my favorite one! When I die, I woud like this version to be played to bring joy to whoever shows up to say good bye.
absolutely brilliant. It seems to me that you get so much more out of every piece you play because you feel every note. I love watching your performances.
Fantastico!!!! .. Brilliant!!! .. You are young, "but You are Already up & touching the Maestro's, Julian Bream & John Williams, in their back!" .. Congrats! ..
Hi Stephanie, I really enjoy watching your videos of more modern music, but in this video you show that you are also very good at playing older music. Congratulations!!!
The whole presentation is a wonderfully emotive experience, with the music conveying a pinnacle of musicality and the artist displaying the human effect of immersion in the greatness of J.S. Bach. There are many artists who play a tribute to this Prelude, but Stephaie Jones is far and away my favorite.
Wow! What an incredible restraint, equipoise and understanding you manage to play this difficult piece with, even in this young age! Remarkable. I cannot wait to hear Chaconne from you 😉.
I don't think it is possible to praise Stephanie's flawless performance too high because this is as close to perfection as humanly possible. Thank you for posting.
I keep playing this piece over and over and every time I find some sublime expressions. I also share it with every friend on my address book. I love this piece so much that I want it to be played the day I have to cross the line to Heaven.
Partita No. 3 for solo violin in E major, BWV 1006, is a violin partition composed by Johann Sebastian Bach around 1720. The piece is structured in seven movements. The prelude is the most played movement in the work. It requires advanced bowing technique is fast (allegro) and is composed almost exclusively of sixteenth notes. It includes passages in « campanella » effect in which the same note (E) is successively played on two different strings open and adjacent with fingering, therefore with a different timbre and a resonance which can evoke a small bell. This melody would probably be the composer's most beloved. Listening to it differently is also beautiful. Music gives meaning to sound, from meaning to sound, is born emotion. Bis repetita *Lucien*
especially on guitar this piece is very diffucult to play so fast and she still makes it sound soooo effortless! compare with young hillary hahn playing the same piece - they seem to have a similar mindset! and at 2:35 she starts to add additional lines to the music. extremly well done - what a pleasure to listen to!
Holy Shit Steph. After all this time since 1st time I heard & watched this, still takes my breath away. Couldn't tell you how many times I witnessed Segovia growing up. Dad played flamenco. Me, 55+ years. Like it or not LoL you've inherited his throne. Smiling, him. Thanks for not letting yourself and me down. Devoted, Nelson
Wonderful. I really can’t listen to many classical guitarist even though I love classical guitar . Julian Bream and John Williams being the two I am obsessed with, but I have to say I love your execution and tone and always with sincere emotion. Segovia would be so proud..Therefore I am adding you to that list. Bravo
Stephanie you are the absolute proof that the miracle and genius of Bach will live on for ever. It is so good to see and hear young people such as yourself playing his music. Thank you
I enjoyed the music, but you were the show. I'm working on the piano version and I want to experience the emotional intensity that this piece provides, and which you obviously felt. When I grew up, Bach was played with digital perfection, but I'll bet he was a really a fun guy that knew how to put life in his music.
I love Stephanie. When someone is able to express things so clearly, you understand that you are speaking the same language. It exhibits a depth and love for her work, that no one else is yet to grasp. They spend their time trying to hit the right note, in the right order, in an "expressive way". Stephanie *SPEAKS* to you. But this work seems a little rushed. Maybe a director, counting time? Stephanie, please rest and *SLOW;* and express yourself through your work. Please stop trying to meet time constraints, or demands. You expressing yourself, as you feel, is a joy. Warm appreciation. Wishing you well.
Really a beautiful and breathtaking combination of emotion intellect and physicality. No matter what you may play or wish to play, looking at her is certainly a guide to the way.
It is a very beautiful tribute that you pay to this magnificent composer. Well done. I like this lightness, these shimmering sounds, I'm a fan! Thank you for sharing.
Holy crap Stephanie, your killing it. Not a weak moment anywhere. Orders of magnitude better than any other version I’ve ever heard. how long did it take you to learn this piece? I would love to know your process for learning music. You’re feeling and expression is there, your not just playing notes. I can listen to this over and over and not get bored. Your amazing!
I have the same number of fingers; I use the same number of strings; I've been playing longer than this lovely wonder-weaver has been alive. . . and not once, for even 5 seconds, have I EVER achieved anything remotely comparable to her delicious outpouring of talent and sound.
Ditto....I'm so envious, but in the nicest possible way!
😂😂😂 Same here, this is so so beautiful.
And yet, your music is wonderful just because it comes from you!
Love your comment.
I think all of us aging guitar hackers have to agree with you on this, and I, for one, couldn’t agree more.
So sweet, so warm, so beautiful.
If Bach could hear it would be impressed.
Tks.
Thank goodness for my insomnia. This is a great way to start my morning!
She's an absolute giant in music.
The rendition of John Williams (1964) was my reference on guitar, just like Hillary Hans playing on violin. You manege to bring out all perfection but also captured the spiritual timeless universal divine essence of this masterpiece. A new standard as reference point. a modern Segovia!
@@patricksmith1319 modern Bream. Segovia was great but his technique doesn't compare to Stephanie. She's up there with Julian Bream.
I wonder if you realize the happiness you bring through your videos? In these difficult times, those little moments of peace and joy are more than welcome.
Thank you very much for that.
I have been a fan of J.S. Bach almost 70 years. Thank you so much from Iceland.
Hello Stephanie Jones, exceptional performance - there is so much energy in it. And the acoustic in this church is awesome! It is really a joy to hear and see you playing! ♥️Thanks for sharing this wonderful music with us. Be blessed and Kind regards from Germany, Bettina
The most beautiful guitarist. Exceptional performance. Congratulations
Mr Bach sits on his cloud, smiles and says: keep on playing Mrs Jones, I like it ;) 👏👏👏
What a dazzling display of guitar virtuosity. I never thought I'd enjoy Bach like now altho hearing it played a thousand times before. Bravo.
This young lady can really play the notes, but most importantly she knows how to make music. It’s in her heart. Spectacular.
Again, a great interpretation in a holy place with a great acoustic, Jb Bach would be happy hearing his masterpiece in this church
It’s a joy to hear you play with such joy and mastery Stephanie. I feel your heart singing through your instrument.
❤️🎶☺️
Bach would kiss your fingers and your feeling. Excellent interpretation.
Tone, Accuracy and Passion. What a combination. It must be Stephanie Jones, that's what she always brings. Thank you so much for overwhelming me - again.
I woke up at 3:15 am for some reason - now I know why. Wow- such a powerful performance.
Technique and artistry wonderfully blended in a performance that is transcendent. I can feel the emotional connection to the piece and your instrument. You never disappoint Stephanie, beautiful. 💖
Absolutely amazing performance. Thank you so much, what a treat for me.
A great musician plays a great work by the greatest composer - what more could you ask for.
Dynamics and expression second to none, ❤
In a few words:
Beautiful sounding guitar (especially regarding the fact no effects have been used), and magnificent performance !
The dynamics, the tone colours, the swing and the earring are outstanding...!
There are many quality classical guitarist but what makes her special to me is her choice of pieces she plays. Outstanding!!

One of my favorite compositions played absolutely beautifully! Thank you for adding the information about where you recorded this in the descriptions.
Stunning performance Stephanie. You took full advantage of the beautiful surroundings and acoustics. 👏👏👏

Is that the Koonce? Years of practice ladies & gentlemen, all that work for this brief moment of bliss. This is the musician's life.
I love the dynamic expression in this performance!
That was beautiful 🎶
Absolutely gorgeous performance from such a young master.
"Young master" I like that Mark.
fantastic rendition , fabulous sound and acoustics
That was fantastic! Fast without being rushed and very musical
Wow! What an incredible restraint, equipoise and understanding you manage to play this difficult piece with, even in this young age! Remarkable. I cannot wait to hear Chaconne from you 😉.
I just would love be there to hear you playing in this church, to listen and feel the sound, the place, see you in this place… everything is perfect!
I know that music isn't competition... But you're by far the best, Stephanie...
I don't think it is possible to praise Stephanie's flawless performance too high because this is as close to perfection as humanly possible. Thank you for posting.
Oh, thanks so much! I don't get chills often anymore, but you and Bach gave me that gift today.

The definitive performance. Period. Kudos Stepanie!!!

Amazing performance! Really enjoyed the energy in it
This girl has extraordinary talent!! ❤ Oh, and Bach would be very well pleased!
And an absolutely beautiful interpretation!!🎶🎶🎶
Beautiful performance! Your hear sings through the instrument.
Also your sense tempo is beautiful! I see many performers, myself included, speed up on the easy parts and slow down on the hard parts.
Lei "sente" il pezzo in maniera totale; lei ed il brano diventano una sola cosa. Esecuzione mirabile, ti rapisce. Chapeau
This is a Masterclass in dynamics.
Fantastic piece and brilliant performance. Bravo, Stephanie!
That was simply brilliant, crisp and pure. Bravo!
Excellent, excellent playing! You are setting the new standard!
