Great video!!. I rarely take the Alert feat, thus I concur with your reasoning about using the viligence elixir in its stead. I will mention again that you should consider Great Weapon Master for Lae'zel. The increase in damage is stark and she has sufficiet accuracy to off-set the attack penalty. I want to echo the previous post with regards to the ring that provides Mental Fatigue. The benefit of the ring is not the damage, but the increase in spell caster effectiveness. This can mitigate your character's lower spell DC.
    Good luck

Thanks! Yup, I think we will go with GWM when we hit level 8. I need to look at that ring again, because I still don’t get it lol

The ring you got from Bernard can be used to cast Light on Lae’zel’s weapon, so she’ll illuminate anything close to her (helping a lot with the “too dark” issue). You can cast it and then unequip the ring and the light spell should stay.

Yup, we’ll be doing that, although I don’t like switching items like that. Really wish these kind of cantrips weren’t available via items, I think it brings their viability down to nil :(

@@immersioneer I completely understand. It's difficult from an immersion standpoint. Personally, I choose to look at it like a bow with a quiver of arrows or a wand with a certain number of chargers (which were very popular in BG1 and BG2). An archer that ran out of arrows wouldn't keep their bow in their hand, they'd change weapons! For me, items work with the same logic (though I totally understand why it doesn't feel great for you).

You could spend an Action to use Help on a sleeping creature to wake it up, but this is BG3 and the game allows for many solutions. You could, for example, also just spend a Bonus Action and Shove the creature to wake it up.

Indeed, I really need to remember Shove as an option, I always forget about it!

to wake up someone you can shove him (bonus action) or throw him water (1 of 2 attack actions at your level) both are "cheaper" than "help"

That’s smart! Never thought of that, although I should have. AI shoves its allies out of sleep all the time.

Try to use trip attack before any menacing attack as you will get advantage for all other attacks. Great video :)

True, I need to remember that!

@frostbite-u8r trip attack + menacing attack = your foe skip the next turn (trip makes him prone, menacing delete his movement to stand up)

ring of mental fatigue is not has you said in the video: the enemy takes 1d4 psychic damage when fails ONE saving throw, but the enemy must have 5 stacks of mental fatigue to activate the damage; and the enemy takes 2 stacks of mental fatigue every time that fails a saving throw against your actions (like weapon actions and manouvres) or spells. Mental fatigue is good not for the damage, but for the malus in mental saving throws (it makes hold person so easy)

I think I understood it right, but maybe wasn’t clear in my wording in the video. How is it good for making hold person easy? I still don’t get it… :/

@@immersioneer you know how good it is: is similar to acuity, but it doesn't make you better to cast spell, it makes your foe worst to resist at it (max mental fatigue stacks: 7)
