In South Africa you travel like 1 hour and also completely different surf that’s why it’s nice to live where u live and in places like South Africa great vid btw keep up the good work
Very good quality of nice angles and to see how you used the wave. Nice tool for learning as well. The way you act from seeing the wave to the very end. THXS
Fish rider here. Thank you for the video. I just brought a mouth mount for my GoPro max 360. They claimed to be 15ft waterproof. Still nervous about it...

Nice fun little wave - love that fish too, looks like that tail holds really nice through turns, must be heaps of fun as a twin! But bugger me if that point doesn’t look sharky AF! Great video mate.
I swear if y’all dont have a fish in your quiver youre missing out! I love taking out my 5’10” in days where the sets are coming in clean with nice open sections, even the rougher days they still hold up. Great vid and aloha from Hawaiʻi! 🤙🏽 yewww

@@thekookshow3885 I'm old now. Been doing this since 1978. A little more practical, that's all. By a little more practical, I mean I'm 6'2" and used to ride a 4'10" single and a 5'7" T&C twin lol
@@thekookshow3885 Never been to a place where you can sit out in the lineup while having a perfect view of snowy mountains. I'm from Los Angeles lol.. that place is pretty damn cool.
yeah surfing a fish is very very different than a shortboard. a good fish is about letting the board do the work. you dont pump fishes they dont work when you do. you actually slow them down trying to pump. its a different type of flow and you can be on different parts of the wave shortboards dont really allow for. you also have to really react to the wave and look further down the line and read the waves more vs shortboards kind of doing what you want to do in a shorter amount of time.
Hi Mr. Kook Show lol. At 39.4L, did you like how this board felt? I notice you usually surf boards a bit lower volume, so I was just wondering why you decided to go bigger with the fish. Just curious because I'm getting into surfing and was pondering board volumes on different shapes. I'd appreciate some feedback, thanks!
Hi mate, it's actually my friends board, so if I was to buy one I'd probably go with less Ltrs... but it felt fine to ride! I don't think I'd go any shorter than 5'9 tho, as I'm 194cm tall lol. I'm assuming you'll be looking for a first board over 7ft? Unless your already through the first stage of standing up and doing a bottom turn, but If your still learning that then I wouldn't be to worried about litres until you start looking at a performance/shortboard... P.S My advice is don't buy a short board for your first board! I'd be looking for something over 7ft at least, you'll progress much faster this way! Learning on a board that's too short can be extremely frustrating and annoying... Anyways I'm sure you'll figure it out, hope this helps and thanks for the comment... Yeww! :)
@@thekookshow3885 Wow tall man! And thanks, this helps! I'm actually half a year in and have progressed to hybrid shorts. So, I was also wondering, do you have a wide range of volumes when it comes to shortboards? And how do you know when to choose which volume? (like for what type of waves, etc.) Thanks again, yeww!
crazy how you can bump a guy on a wave and both have a good laugh. where i live you get screamed at for a good while.
