In the early 60's, my uncle lived on a street named Orangewood, in Phoenix, Arizona. My mothers middle name was Dolores. A little trivia there. Mike in Oregon
OW makes a good guitar. Id like to see them innovate the body and cut a little chunk off for comfort and access, like Taylor, but price it Orangewood style:) Made in the states, factory direct pricing, and it seems like they have exceptionally high QC standards. I saw them do a slight blemish sale last week 30-50 percent off and they sold out faster than a wallmart TV on black Friday. :)
how high the action guitar really suit you in acoustic guitar Mr Tomo? around 1,8 mm on low e string, 1,5 on high e string, or anything lower or higher? Really nice guitar!! love the fretboard binding around the neck
I will often tune open like this, it's how I did it to start with. I'm decent at getting the guitar in tune with itself, but I'm usually pretty far off standard pitch or concert pitch or whatever y'call it. I figure it's fine for practicing, but not for recording maybe.
Thank you for sharing! One of my guitars, Harmony Acoustic Guitar... dedicated for Lightin' Hopkins Style so I just tune that guitar by ears... so it's always 1/2 step to a whole step down from a standard tuning.
@@TomoFujitaMusic That's cool, I love that. I think the loose tuning really helps the emotion and character of traditional blues, it just leans in wonky directions. I'd love to see some lessons from you on that style? I also love old Harmony and Silvertone stuff, such unique rough sounds.
Hi @TomoFujitaMusic, great video on the Orangewood Dolores Acoustic Guitar, really enjoyed your playing and your enthusiasm. 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 Do you by any chance have the chord progressions during your playability? 😄
Sounds Nice! I purchased a Yamaha FG820 a couple years back with the same color as the Orangewood but with glossy finish. Had to do some filing on the fret ends but it's been a great guitar. I Need to practice more though :)
You could have titled the video Unboxing new guitar and some tips for tuning. I’m sure many people are unfamiliar with stretching new strings and some of the other tips you show. Anyway, love your videos- viewing from here in Paris, France. Do you ever tour or plan to play or give a masterclass here or in Europe? Take care, Glenn
Hey, Fujita Sensei, is the strumming pattern DDUUD at about the 13:33 mark, btw? I tried slowing the video down, but i cant see it or hear it right, but it sounds very nice.
@@TomoFujitaMusic Thanks man! That songwriter lesson in the beginner part of Guitar Wisdom is rad, btw. The chords are a hair loss bright and much quicker to get in and out of.
I purchased one of their Oliver mahogany's a while back, but I ended up returning because I was getting fret buzz all over and even completely dead notes on some parts of the neck. Ever since, I've been hesitant to buy another one frome them... Maybe their Highland collection has better build quality since they're their more expensive models? I'm really wanting to give this model a chance, but I don't know... What's your experience Tomo?
Thanks for sharing! You can adjust the trust rod. Even cheaper one is pretty good! Sometime the neck moves so you need to adjust. This guitar & my Ava Mahogany LIVE are so well made & so good! highly recommended!
beautfiul guitar Tomo and yes I don't like to see clip on tuners on guitar headstock either if I'm watching a video and the guitar player has a clip on tuner and capo stuck on the head stock i have to turn off the video it's just not good to see Lol Peace !
Hey Tomo, the more guitars I own the less I play each one. I often find that if I leave one for a while the strings become very nasty and sound bad. That means if I want to pick up a particular guitar I haven't played for months it requires new strings. As someone with a lot of guitars do you have the same problem? Do you have any tips on keeping them all playable? Really love the content and ethos you put out on this channel!
Technically it's impossible to play a lot on each guitars. I am planning to reduce guitars. I love many guitars so it's a little problem. I can set up each guitars really well so even if I don't play it for w while. It still sounds great and easy to play. Proper set up! Thank you so much!
When you do a proper demo, can you play something that has been made famous using a slope shoulder J45. It's frustrating listening to demos that don't represent the guitar well.
Getting a new guitar is just an unparalleled feeling! New sound and feel just gives you a good experience! Cheers Tomo
I am so grateful that I can taste great guitars! Thank you!
@@TomoFujitaMusic Absolutely Tomo!
The Dolores Slope Shoulders is one of our favorites this year. Glad you enjoyed it too, Tomo! 🙌
This is a great songwriter guitar! I love it! The tone is very deep!
Orangewood guitars all sound wonderful...and the price range runs from the $200's to about $900+
Yes! So amazing!

Awesome! Wow! You need this guitar!
That guitar sounds amazing! I may have to add one to my collection! 🙂
Yes! Great for strumming!
I would love to hear you play the new all solid Orangewood parlor.
I am very interested in that too!

Normally I prefer 2.00mm on the 12th fret. This guitar is a little lower than that. This one is s great sounding guitar!
Thank you Mr.Fujita.
Very body vibration rich sound. Little surprise.😀
Thanks for listening! It sounds so deep! I really enjoy this.

So happy to hear that. I always tune that way! I use my ears everyday! Thank you so much!
Thank you so much! from Boston!
I only did twice with Matt Schofield in England.
How does he make a G chord sound like that? Great playing
Thank you so much! More finger picking lesson!

What microphones are you using to record this? Would be good to know to determine how good an impression the video gives.
I use a Canon XA40 Camera & Two Sennheiser - mkh600 microphones.

What is the song played at 12:20? Another awesome video great playing!
Just Funky! Thank you!
Nice guitar Tomo!
What's the song you played @ 9:20 ?
That was typical E....A...(A/B) type chord progression and I added E.. E/G#... 3rd bass then goes to IV chord. simple fun chords!
@@TomoFujitaMusic Thank you Tomo 🙏🏽
What's the nut width on the Dolores?
