If you have stone or brick or any other surface with soot on it that is painted DO NOT USE SCRUBBING BUBBLES, it will take the paint off. I have an outdoor fireplace with stone work around it that is painted to make the stone work look natural. I tested scrubbing bubbles on a small area and while it did an amazing job removing the soot it took the paint with it. I ended up using IMPERIAL Clear Flame 2 in 1 Stove Glass and Masonry Cleaner, worked great and didn’t hurt the paint.
Thank you so much! We have a chimney for our woodstove and rain had caused the creosote to drip down the front of it. I'm anxious to give Scrubbing Bubbles a try.
I use scrubbing bubbles on the front of my gutters, and it works. Not sure how well it works on creosote/soot 'cause all I can see is your back, Don Baker, and some dark yellowed (wet?) bricks which match nothing.

Another reason not to paint over the brick...

Genius (looks good )
Thank you!!!! Trying this today
I’m wondering if this is a bad idea to try on flagstone since a lot of flagstone is actually painted?

What about painted walls ?
This didnt work for me. i tried 3x! Scrubbed like the dickens too!
It still looks dark... not cleaned properly
Maybe it's dark because it's still wet? OP should've shown a picture when it dried out.
We can't see or hear you
