Before Crazy Eddie's there was a cinema hall, I bought my first microwave oven there. I also worked in shop rite while in high school. Thanks for the memories of NY and Staten Island where I grew up.
Yea that was the Wiz. Used to run around there as a kid and then would have to go to Petland

Wow! I used to live on Klondike Ave. in the 1990s while attending CSI. The Shop Rite , the DMV next to it - I remember well. Also, I briefly worked at Villamonte’s (as well as their other location in Tottenville). Nice video, brings back lots of memories, thanks!
The DMW used to be on the upper level where Pergament Mall used to be. I remember The Wiz Electronic Center. Hey what about McDonald's on the JCPenney in the Mall, I miss that place.
Magic City WAS a Crazy Eddie but before that it was a stand-alone, single-screen movie theater called the Century Richmond. I believe the last film I saw there was J.F.K., around 1990. There was another stand-alone movie theater called The Island that was close to the plaza entrance near Richmond Ave. Michael's back in the 70's was a McCrory's Dept. store. My grandfather bought me a Land of the Giants board game there. I wish I still had it.
My dad owned "Time out 4 Donuts" we were next to Haagen Dazs! There was a DMV and yes Pergament and Shop Rite! And absolutely Crazy Eddie's. It was famous!
I remember when E J Korvettes opened. It was a two story store. Music and toys upstairs, important stuff. They had these small booths outside with the BEST soft pretzels. Only problem was, the smell of the dump. Korvettes was a two story building and Pergament was only one story. The airport and farmers market was where the mall is now. One end of the runway ended at a drive in movie. yes there was a drive in movie there. Sort of where Toys r Us was, general area. I took my first plane ride at that airport. Indeed it was Crazy Eddie, his prices are INSANE! Before that it was a movie theater. There was a Roll And Roster on Hylan Blvd as well.
I worked at Shoprite in the 80's. It was a great place to work and we all hung out at night in the parking lot and no one ever bothered us. Even the cops were cool and told us to clean up after ourselves, but let us stay. Great times.
The DMV was on the second floor a quick shop 9f some sort at the bottom and some other business inside possibly insurance. The DMV was decorated in autumn sunset pics.
By the McDonald's there once was a Frankel's and an order by catalog store, Consumers. It had no merchandise in it, just catalogs and tiny sharpened pencils to use to fill out the order forms with. I also worked in the Wiz part time when I graduated High School.
bella vita 2 was there but in the back left corner seperate from the main buildings. i rememeber when me my mom and my dad sat at the round table with white table clothes and my my mom asking for an asstray and was smoking ciggerettes while waiting for our food. good times in the 90s
Acme supermarket use to be where babies r us is. I am a product of the 80s DMV use to be where raymor and flannigan is and Ree lobster use to be where stop and shop is early 1980s
Century Richmond movie theatre was originally at Jembro/Crazy Eddie (insane) location. Caprice bakery was next to the pizzeria . SS Kresge store was where Goodfellas was filmed. Bath Beach Health Spa was above Pergament (early 80's). EJ Korvettes was the main store in that plaza in the 60's. Acme supermarket was the main and only store across the street. Looks like the Carvell is still there. SINY 10312 will always be my hometown.
Where Magic City was that was originally the Richmond movie theater then it became crazy Eddie's which was an appliance store and where Best Buy is was originally korvettes
I remember somewhere around where Petco is there was a stationary store in the early 80’s. My mom always took me there to buy stickers, I don’t remember the name of the store, but it was great!
I used to go to Discovery Zone every weekend!!!! The DMV was by discovery zone. Roll N Roaster & Pergament disappeared when i was really young. The wiz was great closed when I was about 9
Korvette's! Doesn't anyone remember Korvette's? It had an adjoining food store, Hills I believe. I think Korvette's closed in 1980 and later became the DMV.
Above the McDonalds was also a karate instructional area where I went when I was 7 or 8 years old back in 1988. I hated it! Only stayed there for about 4 months.
Before Crazy Eddie, there was the Richmond theater, to the right of that was a couple of stores, one a magic store that sold stink bombs I would take to school
Thanks for the memories, grew up in SI in the 80s and 90s used to live right opposite in Windham Loop. This was my route to go to univ taking S61 and the ferry.
