I didn’t have much knowledge of U-he but heard they were making a Pro-One emulation and was curious. I had a real one back in the day, but sold it to buy a polysynth (Roland JX-3P). Now I’ve never been much of an analogue bore as to me these sounds are 40 years old. But when I tried the Repro I instantly thought it was the best analogue recreation I’d heard. I never felt that with Arturia, which was just alright. There’s another video on TH-cam with a guy doing an A/B test with a real Prophet and you cannot tell the difference. If I could pick one virtual analogue to take to a desert island, it would be this one. And if you want an accurate Minimoog, check out Synapse’s ‘The Legend’.
Recent sub. Gotta say... I love your philosophy on sharing knowledge. Music game is evolving like crazy now. I've been making beats for 20 years almost, and you seem to be answering little questions I've been struggling with in every video. I think people like you are what keep the art form evolving. These days, there's so much tech, options, plugins etc these days that we lose sight of the fact that we need to use these tools musically as well. Much respect to your art, your philosophy, and your contributions to the music community. Keep it up my man.
"you know....da weekend music" haha. was never so much a dave smith fan, but have to admit some nice pads in the poly. got the arturia pro already, but did have my eyes on the u-he....glad you reviewed it.....nice sounds. starting to get into this traction as an alternative for ableton which i have been using for years (like the compostion angle though). i have their biotek which i love. low fi and chillout
It's such a nice synth, I had the chance to use the original Pro One synth at college many years ago. Which was really nice. My current computer can't handle the CPU demands of RePro sadly. But it really is a nice synth. I did have to buy U-He's ColourCopy delay earlier this week, as I am a delay lover hehe :) Thanks again MG for all the videos and tutorials. I did have to treat myself 2 years ago to a Moog Sub Phatty just to get some real analogue purity back into my setup :)
I know it's sad buying a Moog Synth rather than upgrading my Computer to overall help with my usual problem of CPU % lol oh well I can also blame my Access Virus TI for that. My logic was get some real hardware to try and relieve some of my CPU % hahaha. But in reality it's just all part of my hobby :)

Crazy as it may seem, NI has a new offer with U-He that has put the U-He synths on my radar and the Repro were the ones that really caught my attention. I’m surprised that it supposedly is used for percussive sound design as well. What I love about your video is that you approached Repro with the flexibility of multiple genres. Many other content creators force feed and water board viewers with their preferred genre and the plugin then sounds canned and cheesy from the beginning. It is super hard to try or buy anything at that point!
Speaking of analog simulating VST's, have you seen the current deals being run on some of Air's instruments on PluginBoutique? They got a number of great sounds synths that I had completely slept on selling for like $1, plus expansions going for like $1. Vacuum Pro and Hybrid 3 were the two that stood out to me the most.
Some of their plugins are also free with the MPK Mini. Akai keeps adding stuff so it's worth logging in (for example, they recently added Reason intro as another free software)

In tracktion waveform 9 playlist....they created a multi out tutorial using the rack with MT drummer. Also..side chain is at top.left of most plugins. Choose your track from the drop down. Can also set this up in Rack mode. If i ever use this...ill cover it

I like sci fi sounds in my beats i made the mistake of buying phase plant and got disappointed now im more thorough when it comes to reviewing synths i will spend money on this as its on sale... And got those eerie fx sounding presets

Hard choice, for me, syntronik was more a vs Arturia buy, due to how many synths are captured. However, repro is the most analog sounding. Syntronik..my favorite was the andromeda

Repro is awesome uhe makes really good plugs bazzile is stil one of my go to synths
You provably all ready know but the number of voices increases the CPU usage as well like make it less than 8 voices it doesn't sound to different
