    Watched this because I thought one had to choose between Instachord and Scaler - I was intrigued by the idea of using them together. I think I need to watch this a few times to grasp it.

    This is definitely going to improve my workflow with InstaChord. I use Chordjam a lot right now. I wish Scaler 2 would implement some of theses features. InstaChord 2 gives you the best strumming options out of all of the plugins.

    Hey bro, I hope all these companies are sending you free plugins for all the free marketing value that you're providing. I think I've bought like 4 different plugs because of your vids, and I'm probably not alone. Initially, I thought your channel was mostly hip hop production tips, which wasn't really my genre, but a lot of this info has no genre limits, I'm glad I stuck around. Timeless workflow hacks bro, keep it up.

    The problem with apps like Scaler and Captain Chords is the limitations of staying diatonically within one key. Hence, it limits the selection of notes and chords Music isn't written that way period. Songs typically have several keys especially jazz standards (i.e., All the Things you are, Stella by Starlight [google them]). Some have altered chords. Some are written modally. The BEST music theory book I've read that covers all of this is an online book called the "Beato Book" by this guitarist by Rick Beato. (He has several youtube videos covering chord progressions.).

    Great tutorial beloved, you are one talented and blessed brother. Since watching you vids I have made my sales specialist happy. Blue cat, insta chord, Now Ez keys and the fact that I've been the chop and sample pack kid ( Mpc 60) 2000xl cat. Got hip to Maschine Masters and Ghetto Gospel, Key Samples Mike Kalimbo and a Few others. Now I have to buy Scaler 2. I'm a have to stop watching you till I hit the lottery bro ( lol) and then the captain chords that I grabbed only to find out it ain't what I'm looking for even with the melody synth and bass with it. I need the Scaler and the formula to make it happen. Plus I need a video on how to use it in the 2.0 software if u can. Help future MG Help!! Trying to chop the top of the Maybach.......!

    What is the link to keep everything intact when the Scaler upgrade is done?
    The way you add the RX950 is like either hot sauce or special herbs and seasoning lol:)
    It reminds me of the old school Green Bay Packers’ sweep play where everyone could see it coming but no one had any defensive strengths to stop it lol:)
    The genius of this video is in the confidence, speed, and concern for the viewers that the video was made!
    Too many videos have would be great teachers beating up their would be long time students for simply not knowing or having prior experience.

    TIP: "Patcher" is FREE from Image Line, so you can use it in Ableton, and get a FL Studio Racks type environment for your plugins in ANY OTHER DAW, so that you don't need two channels for MIDI tools to route to the VST instrument. You'll just insert Patcher, open it, and then build whatever routing within it: ONE TRACK only.
    With it's unlimited routing, you could even do crazy things like route the input midi to Scaler AND Instachord at the SAME TIME, and from Scaler go into Omnisphere, while at the same time going from Instachord into a different synth: ALL IN ONE TRACK!

    • @yungbroc

    instead of creating more than one omni you can use ableton's external instrument and route it to omni; you can also route the audio out of omni with the "multi" section back into the "external instrument" track... less cpu load and more organized.

    I wonder if you can route Scaler chords into EZKeys and Instachord so you don't have to drag and drop MIDI. That way you can change Scaler and it changes everything else. Maybe with a chord track or something? IDK. Might be a lofty vision.

You can choose to get there whichever way you want. Some people like to craft their sounds from the ground up, but thats not for everyone. Don't minimize your skills and daw/production understanding because of others snarky conceited remarks because they feel it minimizes their hard earned experience; they just took a different route to get to the same end. it would be nice to actually give it a melody line, and to get suggestions based on genre,and so on.I mean of course to get the chords. Not even a pro, with musical theory studies, could possibly think fast enough and have in mind all possible versions.But then, one might say where is the composer's creation act..well, it would still be HIS arrangement and melody. Scaler would only show him what is there to use..Just a thought.Thanks !

    Do you have any opinions on izotope RX? I know you like to you use spectralayers Pro, I've been trying to do some comparisons and I can't seem to find any legit videos explaining the differences.

    • @MGTheFuture
      @MGTheFuture  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      They're not the same, they are ends to different means. I have e both. But they get used in certain contexts.

    • @mr.wetdream5277
      @mr.wetdream5277 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      MG The Future. Would you be able to do a video discussing the differences between the two and what functions? I'm super confused.

    • @MGTheFuture
      @MGTheFuture  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      RX is Audio restoration for dialogue. Spectralayers is almost used for mastering. Ones single track, ones multitrack. RX has more forensics tools. Spectralayers has a few tools for that, but focuses on separating audio...used by different kind of people

    I wonder if these tutorial could also apply in Reason? Do you know if instachord, scaler and ezkeys behave the same in reason as they do in Studio one?

    • @MGTheFuture
      @MGTheFuture  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      To a limited degree. Reason doesn’t currently allow midi routing through vsts

    I got instachord but I want to ask if it's possible to just hit one key on your midi keyboard and play all 6 notes? I don't currently want to play strums or anything just block chords, but different chords within the preset

    • @MGTheFuture
      @MGTheFuture  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Pick list has a few non-strum options - yeah

    I hope my following question is in the context of this video..."how were you notified that new updates were available for Instachord & Scaler"? I'm hoping that's there is some auto-notifications setting that I can set on the Plugin Boutique website.
