Hi ! My favourite boat on the Broads is a Broom 30 dating from around 1973 . Tried to buy a fantastic example which had been completely refitted but it sold just before I arrived and re-sold a few months later which was a bit annoying . Annoying because the owner was told by his wife ' Either that goes or I do ' . It would have been a close call but I would have said ' Can I help you pack '. Met you awhile ago by your boat ( surrounded by the odd empty can ) and spoke to someone a short distance away who was working on a Broom 30 . Would love to see how he's progressed as he was doing a full refit . Best wishes .
Nice blog Miles. Where’ve you been? Haven’t heard from you in a while. I have a Freeman Mk2, but I use it on the Bridgewater up here in the NW. I will one day (maybe when I retire) bring it down and spend a Summer on the Broads. I love it there but the cost of hiring is astronomical. I mean, I don’t want to buy the boat I only want to rent it astronomical. It’s ridiculous.
Just seen your video which was very useful. We're just in the process of considering buying a Sheerline 740 with sliding roof. It looks to tick most of the boxes for a Broads cruiser. There's just the two of us but, with some thought, I'm sure we can make the space work OK. Any thoughts on this type of boat? Thanks in advance.
Perfect..just stay away from boats without rudders, like outboard and out drives...all good at sea but at 4 mph on the rivers you need a boat with a rudder.
@@NorfolkBroadsForum it's like saying Brighton s in Hampshire........ Beccles is Suffolk and Oulton broad , We get very angry saying places In Suffolk is Norfolk .... but great videos , I enjoyed the doing up of your first yacht that was superb .....

Yes I remember. You were very loquacious.
Thanks Miles for a very interesting vlog. Take care and all the best. Stevie
Great advice 👍
Just bought my first boat and the video was useful to consider. Thanks
Glad it was helpful!

I am still about. In the final stages of fully restoring my sailboat. Looking at going electric inboard too.
