Nice video, I have fond memories of this area, I hope to get back some day. Not sure if you have tried Ray’s Shanty. Some really fresh quality seafood. They are on Chincoteague Rd, a few miles before you get to the island.

Thanks for watching, Chincoteague really is an amazing place with its own vibe! We have bought from the fresh market there before, but haven’t eaten at the restaurant part yet. We will have to try it next time!

Aww! You started at “T’s Corner’’! That’s when you know you’ll be at Chincoteague soon!

Nice seaside town, laid back, with lots of shops, but just enough vacationers to keep it lively but not over crowded.

Did you also go to Assateague Island? My sister's Jeep club goes to the National Park on the Maryland side of the island and drive on the beach! You can see the ponies in the wild! There is also a Maryland State Park on Assateague.

We didn’t on this trip but we buy a yearly pass for access to Assateague Island which is good for both the Virginia and Maryland sides! Maryland Assateague ponies are much closer than the Virginia herds, and have been known to walk through camps on the beach! People have to remember to be safe there as they are still wild animals no matter how friendly they might appear! Thanks for watching our video!

Local here. Ropewalk is like one of the town jokes. WE cannot afford to eat there. I remember when the land that Ropewalk is on was the Chincoteague Inn. It was a full on dive bar with a dining dock, but it was great for us locals .We need more local friendly places instead of these tourist magnets.

@@wanagi006 I can certainly understand that, a lot of the local charm from our first visits years ago (2008 or 2009) has slowly started to disappear which is a shame. The inner fat child in me still craves those crabcakes though!

@@PlumCrazyAdventures can't hate ya for the crabcake thing lol ......come on down again anytime...we stay open here well into the shoulder season (which is great for couples). But I hope you understand my view about places like Ropewalk.

@@PlumCrazyAdventures 🌺 🏖 🐴 😍 I just wish you would promote local owned eateries... like Bills., Don's, Capt. Zak's, A.J's , Steamers ,Hanoi Village,... that is a few locally owned choices to promote.

Good to know! Good chance they’ve changed their recipe over the years, and the water is definitely different which makes local fare taste different than what you’re accustomed to. Hope you have a better experience next time!
