    Man I am no mechanic but this helps me tremendously. I commented the other day about this and you replied. That alone means a lot. I will try this tomorrow. Today I ordered a parts manual and a service manual. They were not cheap I’ll tell you that much. Thanks again man!

      I hope this video will help others with their Mustangs, they are great machines when the brakes aren't locked

      Eric,
      Where did you order your parts/service manuals from? I've got a 2040 and need to find a pressure solenoid (I think), but I'm having trouble finding any documentation for this machine.
      Thanks!

    Hello Eric, I am having a similar problem. I am hoping you can help me. Not sure if your fix here you described will help me. I have a 98 Mustang 2040. For a while. the brake lock button would intermittently work and not work. We had to try and start the machine three times for it to unlock. You can here what I assume is the solenoid moving in and out. Now the switch is not working at all and I cant start the machine. I did replace the switch. But that did not work. I did check the fuses. My solenoid box seems to be mounted to the right and not as far back as yours is. I did take the red wire off and tested the plug. It is getting power. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

      If the machine isn't starting, or is starting and immediately stalling then that's a problem with the seatbelt circuit/seat switch. If the machine starts but you cannot move it because the brakes are locked then the brake solenoid isn't getting power. I believe that the relay inside the little black box on the upper left side of the ROPS, is a mechanical relay and has worn out. Sometimes if I flip the brake switch repeatedly it will unlock which tells me the relay contacts are worn. I'm planning to eliminate the black box soon

    So the unused wire plug by the solenoid is 12v while running? What is the true intended purpose for that unused plug? Was it the intent of the manufacturer to provide this when a bypass to the parking switch is needed? When I do this I only get 12v when engine is running not with key on.

    • @MikeWisconsin

      in the video it looks like your yellow and black wire do not have the same connector like mine does but yours appear to be taped off.

    • @SeaDooEric
      @SeaDooEric  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I'm not sure what the purpose of that plug is, I was never able to find a wiring diagram

  • @andrew5550
    @andrew5550 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I have a wiring diagram that came with my machine I checked every ground on the machine including the seat button and the brake solenoid they all checked out good it turned out it was just the lock switch the switch was good but that little tiny black ground wire was broken the same thing happened on both machines. When you remove the switch from the overhead dashboard it ends up breaking the wire the plastic dashboard rips it out of the lock switch

      @SeaDooEric  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      On my 2050, open the rear door, top left there's a tube with a radiator cap, open it and you'll find the hydraulic oil dipstick, it takes ISO 46 hydraulic fluid

    Im confused what exactly you did there.
    Are you bypassing the seat switch or attaching the seat switch to the brake solenoid?
    Or am i missing something entirely?
    I'm working on a mustang 2042,2004 year and the brake switch isn't lighting up.
    It was flickering and would work intermittently but now I have nothing.

    • @SeaDooEric

      I wired switched power to the brake solenoid so that it releases the brakes on startup. I left the seat switch intact, cause safety

    Right underneath your Green lock button you will notice a tiny tiny little black ground wire that goes to a little tiny black box the ground wire is so small you would not think it would have an effect on your machine they are famous for breaking I have had two of these machines both have done it when it happens you cannot move the machineIt's a simple fix

    How’d you open the seat

    • @SeaDooEric
      @SeaDooEric  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      There's a handle to release the seat platform, I think it's under the seat, pull it towards yourself
