    BEST organizing tips for sewing EVER! I followed your video on organizing patterns and it worked perfectly. I used big white envelopes and it looks so nice. Now I will work on putting together the project workbook. Great ideas.

    Haha so much neater than me. If things aren't on the floor then they're somewhere lost. I do like the envelope thing though where you keep your patterns. I draft so I have sheet upon sheet upon sheet of paper stuffed in a bag somewhere and I've never thought to envelope each one - everything is sort of muddled together, so thank you for this little idea!

    This is a great idea but do you prep your fabric before you cut your patterns out

    I have similar system but I have ideas drew them on scribble paper go to stir pick items for making them then go home pack on box like you and every day night after long work day i cut materials pin them or embroidered them them on Saturday or Sunday I sew them for like hour or 2 all together one by one its so rewording when on end of week you finish with something creative and pre et for your space .I start with small projects now i will go for patent what lay for 10 years in my shelf hahaha get dated haha or I should say vintage hi hi hi.

    Wonderfully organised! Do you wash your fabrics ready to go before you store in zip lock bags?

    • @WeekendsWithG
      @WeekendsWithG  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't but I'm trying to do that more often. I generally put them in the zip bags so i don't accidentally forget and then use a piece for something else only to realized I had per-planned it for another project. But doing a wash/prep first would be a great idea.

    If the pattern goes in the plastic sleeve on the front of the envelope and the fabric and notions go in a ziploc bag, what goes inside the manila envelope?

    • @WeekendsWithG
      @WeekendsWithG  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Donna, only the envelope of the pattern goes in the front plastic sleeve. The rest of the actual pattern and the instructions go inside the large envelope - makes it easy to manage and i can refold it casually after use and it will still fit!

    so you use a different box for each project?

    • @WeekendsWithG
      @WeekendsWithG  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      I use a different zip lock bag for each project and put all my current "in progress" or "in cue" projects in the box to keep it together and out of sight.

    Arrrgggh!!!! did you really cut the pattern envelope?

    • @WeekendsWithG
      @WeekendsWithG  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +quazylade90 Yup, it depends on what you value. You can certainly keep the envelope intact and just stick it in the sleeve as a whole.

      PBunnieP it's ok. I have a system for my patterns and envelopes. I never have a problem refolding pattern pieces.
