    Here in Pa they make us dig all our frost footings before we pour anything because they want a monolithic pour. Much easier to do it your way for truck access and stoning in. Nice job!

    What size footings do the codes require where you are? Here I dig a 16" footer for an 8" wall and a 20" footer for a 12" wall. The thickness is usually 8" unless there will be 3 floors of heated space above it (2 stories with a bonus room) gets a 10" thick footer. The top of our footers only have to be 4" below grade.

    • @eliteearthworksllc
      @eliteearthworksllc  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Blackdog Tractor/Excavator ours are suppose to be 16” wide and 30” deep on the residential stuff. I know commercial is wider and deeper but I’m not sure how much. The concrete guy has me use a 12” bucket because with our rock the trench will come out to 16”-20” wide

      @@eliteearthworksllc yeah the vast majority of the soil around here is more red clay than anything. Occasionally I hit a vein of rock but not very often. My biggest obstacle is usually a tree stump that the loader guy sheered off and covered up when he cleaned the lot. It makes a wide or deep spot in my ditch and ticks me off. Lol

    Hey, so on a job like this were you contracted out by the foundation sub or the builder, and was it strategic project management or probably just poor pm as to why all of the footing wasnt just dug at the same time? Thanks.

    • @eliteearthworksllc
      @eliteearthworksllc  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes I was hired by the concrete company. The basement footings are formed and they wait on the frost footings so they are able to back trucks in there and get the rock spread. The frost footings are the only ones that are dug.
