I just wanted to say thianks for all your helpful tips.I've all ways wanted to be in the fashion world but have no clues how to sew but your videos really insprires me to make the jump so I just bought a sewing machine and I'm starting my dream. Thanks sooo much!
+Annika Victoria this is so awesome , I love this series and you are so good at up cycling you actually inspired me and on my TH-cam channel I have a series where I up cycle things and it's actually kinda funny cause one of them I made a skirt out of a dress , so thank you so much you truly did inspire me😊
I really appreciate that as far as I've seen you don't really thrift plus size clothing and cut it down and make something new like a lot of TH-camrs sewers/thrifters do. It's hard enough to find plus size clothing in thrift stores without people half the size buying up all the perfectly wearable plus clothes.
Annika Victoria It's when your hips curve twice somewhat. It's normal for many people. It causes your body to look like you have a muffin top and hips. I was just curious, I don't meet a lot of people with them.
I don't think I do? Hmm. I think that underwear that I wear sometimes rearranges the fat around my waist to make it look like that maybe though haha. I never knew that was a thing! I like the name for it :)
Annika congratulations on your 5th year milestone. You're so inspirational and although we don't have the same disabilities I feel like you're someone I can really relate to. ❤️
I like the way you finished with the belt loops. I hate elastic waistbands and this solves that problem. When I'm able, I will support you. I also have a disability and am now struggling to survive on my own. My husband recently died. You make great videos.
I completly understand your situation as I am a similar case. I have chronic migraines and chronic fatigue wich render me basically useless most of the time. My immune system is also terrible, if I get sick I end up in the hospital :/, and I heal extremly slowly, in 2012 I had an operation and the scar rips every few months especially if I do physical work or exercise so I have to be very careful what I do. I also have very serious depression and although I've gotten a bit better latelly I'm still not great. I also struggle with the fact that my father and most people don't understand and just consider me lazy since I don't have a paper saying "here I have this chronic disease" so I feel very insecure about what to do. I wanted to use my art skills to make money on my own time, but that didnt work out for me since the pressure that gave me made things worse for me. So just know I understand what you feel and wish you the best.
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ I've watched my little brother battle chronic fatigue and migraines too and it's awful when people just think he is lazy or tell him to "push himself" - like, he is already pushing himself by getting out of bed. I am wishing you all the best. We are so much stronger than anybody who has never had to live with chronic pain or fatigue realises ❤️
I've watched my father act like it's the end of the world after he twisted his ankle and had to take it easy for a couple weeks. If we made such a big deal every time we were stuck in bed we wouldnt be able to enjoy anything. So we just end up having to learn to deal with it so people just dont realise what's going on. So it's rly hard when people say things like "push yourself". I hope your brother gets better.
My cousins girlfriend has cancer and its very bad I wish dearly for her , but I won't be selfish as I know others have illnesses too I wish the best for everyone
Could you do some kind of 'Beginning to Sew' type of video showing the basics of a sewing machine and how to work with one? Maybe how to choose fabrics, how to start off, you know, just some tips for someone just learning how to sew would need? Love your videos! I swear I've watched all of them in the past two days and they have pretty much inspired me to sew myself, I don't have one a sewing machine yet but my mum said my grandma might let me borrow one of hers!
I did a MAJOR clean out (Kondo-ing) of my closet a couple months ago and had 5 dresses I have outgrown. I have been turning them into skirts to give them a longer life and it has been so cathartic to clean up and get "new" clothing out of it too.
You've inspired me to start making and customizing my own clothes! It's only been a month or so and I've already made a blouse and a tunic, as well as a coin purse for my mom! Thanks for helping me out!
That turned out great! That inspired me to rejuvenate many old dresses. My suggestion is the top part can be turned into a short length shrug / cardigan / jacket or whatever it is called. But you know the condition and possibility of the piece best. :) Thanks and great to see you back!! :)
I LOVE THIS PRINT! I think a headband with this print would be adorable, but I think it would also look amazing as a fake pocket. You know, a pocket shaped piece of fabric that you sew to a basic shirt? Just a little idea :)
+Annika Victoria omg I don't want to sound like a crazy fan girl but you are literally one of my favourite youtubers and you inspired me to buy a sewing machine and start thrifting! :)
You should definitely make a cute matching headband! And the sleeves would make lovely little lavender bags that you can stick in your wardrobe or drawers :) Also, you're hair look fab in this video, dat flick doh!
Back in the day when I worked at a job where I was required to look "nice" (I now work from home, where no one really cares) I used to get salvage and clearance fabric in long pieces, sew up to make a tube, sometimes leaving a slit, then hem and add the elastic and, viola! Skirt. Do you have trouble with the elastic twisting around inside the casing? I used to tack it at quarter marks around the top to keep that from happening.
That's a great idea! I don't have the problem if the casing is just the right size but sometimes I make it a little bit too big and it does twist. So thank you for the tip! :)
Your videos remind me of the very early days of Threadbangers. Keep up the good work Annika, you deserve to be compensated. These videos look simple but there are a lot of hours and equipment that go into making one.
Hello, would you be able to do a tutorial on how to adjust a dress zipper? As in, I have this dress which I would like to wear but the zip doesnt go all the way up because it's tight around my rib cage and it makes me very self conscious.. I would love to be able to fix that. Also! I love how devoted you are to this channel and you make me want to start sewing since i have a little sowing machine, I just haven't gotten around to it.. Thank you for being such an amazing person!
Your videos inspired me to make new things out of my clothes, mostly thrifted or ones I grown out, and learning from your previous videos of how to attach elastic, or make skirts, I made myself a skirt similar to one in this video, and did it almost exactly the same, so I'm actually proud of myself :D . I'm not perfect at sawing yet, but like I said, you inspired me so much. Much love :)
This video gave me a great idea: you could turn an ill-fitting dress into a two piece! Maybe you could make a video using this idea? I would love to see it and your take on this idea
Ooh! Idea: I've seen a few people request a school backpack on here (at least I think so.) I think it'd be so cool if you made a video on a school backpack, and used the leftover robot fabric as an accent pocket. Also, your hair in this video is goals.
I have a dress I bought from a local thrift store just for this purpose! I've been rolling it down until I can get a chance to convert it. I'd like to have the room/money for a sewing machine before I attempt to do so. Saving this video for future reference.
Lol I seriously have watched every single video of yours... I'm obsessed!! I actually used one of your videos (a circle skirt w/o zipper) for a dance costume and it turned out great! Keep up the good work ❤️
This video is so helpful! I'm currently trying to turn a dress that I didn't wear anymore into a matching co-ord piece as a crop top and hopefully some shorts. Is turning a dress into shorts possible? I'd love to see a video on it or even some tips you may have
Annika you're so close to 500k! My first video of yours was the transfer paper tutorial and then I immediately became hooked!!!! Now ive been a subscriber for about a year, and I still get excited every time I see one of your videos in my subscription box😊❤️❤️❤️ also I love your hair like that heehee
i have a suggestion! I think it would be cool if you made a video or video series about tips/tricks(like what to look for and reasonable prices) you have for thrifters, thrift store haul/cool finds, and store reccomendations. what do you all think?
I have a dress that I love but it's too small at the bust and doesn't zip up fully. Any ideas how I can enlarge it to fit? I really want to keep the dress as it is so I can wear it again.
That fabric is so cute !! I like the idea of the purse that people have been suggesting but if you don't go with that I think you could rock a really cute bandana or neck scarf made with this fabric ! (I also think a neck scarf tutorial would be really great) Either way I know whatever you make will come out looking so cute, stay rad !! :)
this was so helpful! I love your videos, they make me want to start learning how to sew, I have some old dresses that might be a good first project to turn into skirts :) your personality in your videos is great and I love watching you
Just wondering if you have a video to widen the back of a dress, picked up a cute thrifted dress but I can't do the zipper up in the back, any suggestions?
i do it all the time (well my good friend Svetlana does it for me cause she is a tailor). she even cut my very plain dress into a combi top/skirt (mostly i wear the top with pants and the skirt with a blouse) and the result is adorable
I am a new subscriber and i really like the fabric of this dress i wanted to make a skirt similar since i live in honduras i though i would never find this kind of fabric but i was able to find it 😍😊 in the local fabric store 😊 thank you for the tutorials😍😍😍
Awesome. Just wondering what to do if the dress has a long zipper all the way down the back? Rip out the zipper and sew it up as a seam? Or is there some way you can make the zip shorter and still use it for the skirt?
I just wanted to say thianks for all your helpful tips.I've all ways wanted to be in the fashion world but have no clues how to sew but your videos really insprires me to make the jump so I just bought a sewing machine and I'm starting my dream. Thanks sooo much!
❤️❤️❤️❤️
omg np thanks for noticing my comment i knw its hard with your fan base but love your videos.
+Annika Victoria this is so awesome , I love this series and you are so good at up cycling you actually inspired me and on my TH-cam channel I have a series where I up cycle things and it's actually kinda funny cause one of them I made a skirt out of a dress , so thank you so much you truly did inspire me😊
I love how everytime you show your sewing pile there is even more things than before 😂😂 so relatable
OH MY GOSH TELL ME ABOUT IT 😩 It's NEVER going to be empty hahaha
+Annika Victoria omg i love you ❤️❤️
+Annika Victoria love your videos I got inspired to start sewing from watching your videos :3
Very relatable 😂
I really appreciate that as far as I've seen you don't really thrift plus size clothing and cut it down and make something new like a lot of TH-camrs sewers/thrifters do. It's hard enough to find plus size clothing in thrift stores without people half the size buying up all the perfectly wearable plus clothes.
Annika you should do a series called make, thrift retry where you retry your failed attempts of DIYs I think that would be awesome! Who's with me?
Watch how to make a shirt to be like skirt
😁😁😁😂😂😂
this has to be my favourite sewing channel out there
☺️☺️❤️❤️
YOUR HAIR LOOKS SO CUTE AND THE SKIRT IS ADORABLE OH WOW
Misha?
+Linus Winchester Misha.
Misha
Oh wow! You look so different with your fringe pushed back! It looks nice!!! Skirt is amazing!
I don't sew but every time you post a new video I'm so happy
I know this has nothing to do with clothes or sewing, but LOVE your hair in this video. So cute 😄
I love what you're doing with your hair!! The quiff is much cuter than the bangs.
annika i literally just found your channel and have watched %60 of 'make, thrift, buy' and i just wanna say, props to you girl! your so talented! 💓💓
same i litterally binged
I had a marathon too hehe
Same tho
Thank you so much I love you
I think the fabric would make a good bag if u have enough
Hmmm, not enough for a bag but maybe I have enough for a little coin purse... that could be cool!
+Annika Victoria Though it is none of my business I have violin hips and I was curious if you do as well?
+Arianna Silva ummm not sure coz I don't know what violin hips mean heheh.
I like the name for it :)
your hair looks SOOOOO amazing in this. i TOTALLY am digging the blond hair
Annika congratulations on your 5th year milestone. You're so inspirational and although we don't have the same disabilities I feel like you're someone I can really relate to. ❤️
❤️❤️❤️❤️
I like the way you finished with the belt loops. I hate elastic waistbands and this solves that problem. When I'm able, I will support you. I also have a disability and am now struggling to survive on my own. My husband recently died. You make great videos.
I've been doing that for years but never even thought of adding belt loops so thanks for the inspiration xxxx
love this robot fabric! and loved how it turned out as a skirt! great job
I love you Annika!! You are so inspiring. I started sewing like 3 months ago and your videos are keep pushing me to try new things! Thank you!
Every time I want to do something with fabric I always look through your videos first. Such easy and helpful tutorials. 💕

yes!!! this was amazing and I'm glad you added the belt loops too
as soon as i saw the fabric i knew it would turn out rad omg
Not only are you oh so pretty, but also oh so talented!! So happy I found your channel last year!
The robot fabric is so cute!

it turned out really well!! I might try this with some old dresses to make them more wearable ❤

Good morning Annika! I was just yelling at my subscription box to show me a new video of yours and it happened! Yay!
Same!
Small world :)

I have a problem with watching your videos...I sit down to watch one and 3 hours later I'm still there :'D love them & you!!!
half a million! Well done Annika!

Your hairstyle looks so cute in this! ♡
Your videos make me wish that I could sew. You are so talented and entertaining to watch!
Your hair looks so great like that!
I loved the belt loop tutorial! And that robot fabric is to die for, 50¢ is a steal :)
You should definitely make a cute matching headband! And the sleeves would make lovely little lavender bags that you can stick in your wardrobe or drawers :) Also, you're hair look fab in this video, dat flick doh!
I love the way you've styled your hair in this episode!🌻
I love your style! I watch every single one of your videos, even though I'm not into sewing myself 😀
This is my favorite series on your TH-cam! Great good!
Hi Annika, you're the reason I'm getting a sewing machine for my birthday! Keep being super awesome!!
I'll definitely have to try the elastic tip because I have a certain pair of black pants that has an elastic that keeps twisting.
Hey Girl! Do you think you can do a hand sewing series? Like things that you can create, up-cycle, or fix just buying hand sewing techniques?
For make thrift buy, do you think you could try to DIY the rainbow-see-through top ?
Does anyone not sew that often, but is still obsessed with Anika?
Your videos remind me of the very early days of Threadbangers. Keep up the good work Annika, you deserve to be compensated. These videos look simple but there are a lot of hours and equipment that go into making one.
omg so close to 500,000 subscribers! you go girl!
Annika i love your hair in this video 😍

Anika I usually don't watch these type of videos but I simply love ur channel

can you make a sweater dress? I see them everywhere and I really like them, but they are or to expensive or not the right colour.
so cute! love your new hair style!!
I love this idea! Is there a sure thing as no sew fabric glue..I dont have a sewing machine 💗
Great video thank you for sharing.
I have a dress that’s to small but I love the fabric. Is it possible to make a skirt. Thank you from Scotland x
Ooh! Idea: I've seen a few people request a school backpack on here (at least I think so.) I think it'd be so cool if you made a video on a school backpack, and used the leftover robot fabric as an accent pocket. Also, your hair in this video is goals.
Don't talk to me
i literally thought about how id make an elastic waist skirt earlier today! Thank you!
Because of you, I got interested in sewing. I got my sewing machine 2 months ago but I don't know what to do with it.
I have a playlist on my channel for total beginners - I recommend you check it out! :)
I have a dress I bought from a local thrift store just for this purpose! I've been rolling it down until I can get a chance to convert it. I'd like to have the room/money for a sewing machine before I attempt to do so. Saving this video for future reference.

Oh! I have that box too! And attacked it yesterday finally
Thank you for the tips Annika!
i have a suggestion!
I think it would be cool if you made a video or video series about tips/tricks(like what to look for and reasonable prices) you have for thrifters, thrift store haul/cool finds, and store reccomendations.
what do you all think?
I love the iddea bug have elastic in my dress and i want to make a longer skirt what should i do ?

Hey I was wondering if you thought about starting a knitting series because I would love to know how to knit and your tutorials make sense to me!
I love your hair in this video!!!
I have a dress that I love but it's too small at the bust and doesn't zip up fully. Any ideas how I can enlarge it to fit? I really want to keep the dress as it is so I can wear it again.
Your hair looks sooo cute hereee!
your hair is so cute in this one!
Love it!!!
That fabric is so cute !! I like the idea of the purse that people have been suggesting but if you don't go with that I think you could rock a really cute bandana or neck scarf made with this fabric ! (I also think a neck scarf tutorial would be really great)

Annika, thank you so much for posting. This is exactly what I am looking for. You did a great job with the to tutorial. It was easy to follow.
Congrats Annika on your five year mark! I only have mental disabilities but I feel like I can still relate to you! ❤️❤️
So excited to watch this! Love your videos Annika :)
I like your hair without the bangs. Love ya ❤️
seeing my name in the patreon list was so exciting!! i love your videos so much i feel so inspired every time i watch them
this was so helpful! I love your videos, they make me want to start learning how to sew, I have some old dresses that might be a good first project to turn into skirts :) your personality in your videos is great and I love watching you
Just wondering if you have a video to widen the back of a dress, picked up a cute thrifted dress but I can't do the zipper up in the back, any suggestions?
you could always try removing the zipper and adding a back panel to the dress then replacing the zipper ?
i do it all the time (well my good friend Svetlana does it for me cause she is a tailor). she even cut my very plain dress into a combi top/skirt (mostly i wear the top with pants and the skirt with a blouse) and the result is adorable
Annika you're the best and I just wanted to let you know that you're my absolute favorite youtuber ❤❤
Fantastic, thanks very much :)
Your sewing is amazing, as usual.
Also, your hair looks so cute in this video!
Love your videos ❤️ could you do a two piece set from a dress?
I love it and I am obsessed with the intro idk but I love you
Make a headband out of the left over fabric! It would be really cute!
Can you make a video of making the bust on a dress wider?? Maybe with inserts or something??
I usually do a double fold casing for a neater inside
