i bought mine on 7/27/21 used for 500 usd and its in all black with cream binding and chrome hardware. the instrument practically plays itself and i have no regrets about putting it in my collection
They even upload videos where their partner's gear get ruined in blindfold videos or where budget gear beats more expensive. So these videos are barely commercial for me.
Got mine this week and can't stop looking at it! Very well made, flawless fit and finish, and great service from Andertons as always. Can't play jazz but who cares it's beautiful!!!
I own one of the old ones in black, they’re discontinued but I got it for a great price, love it, probably the best guitar in the market to start with jazz.
It's times like these when I really miss Ariel Posen playing along with Pete! Ariel has tasty jazz inspired note and chord choices and he pushed Pete to the limit!
If only I'd waited, that's a great deal. I bought one of these in Champagne earlier this year and, even at full price, it's a lot of guitar for your money. I have 12 flatwounds on it and it sounds fantastic through a valve amp. They are well built, feel quite solid, lot's of trimming and at 17" wide and 3" depth, they are on the big side. £449 is a steal!
Barney Kessel and The Poll Winners Three albums has the best jazz guitar performances. Ray Brown and Shelly Manne make the three. Or Sean McGowan for modern jazz players.
Yes sir. We are treated to great music! So tired of a lifetime of distorted gigging and recording. Your stuff today, is what I do on my own. Takes a lot more work and practice than people realize, but more than worthwhile for a real musician. I am super happy with that price point! Thanks fellas!
It looks like a great guitar. Most people will not be able to find or buy a Gibson Johnny Smith. This suspended pick up gives a similar sound though, for much less money. The funky colour is a plus, in my opinion. I think it would probably sound best with Fender Twin Reverb or an equivalent valve amp. Great stuff, glad you are selling D’angelico. Is there also a natural colour?
Ha Ha - yup, we had to shoot a few videos in some temporary space so you'll see 3-4 shot from here. Not ideal, but we should be back in the normal studio next week.
Hi Lee... Have you seen Dave Simpson's new Partscaster video, It sounds wicked good... If Chapman Spread some Chapman Magic on It I'd buy it, Troy from Alantic City
I hate guitar thieves! 2 years ago I had my P Bass (with a tele neck!), my Les Paul clone, and an acoustic I found in the trash that I was gonna spruce up, all stolen off of a truck along with thousands of dollars of other stuff. I feel for you.
@@Bob-Whiting I had it for a year. I was shipping it before a move. The top was select. Because of its bookmatching, it had a huge bat behind the bridge. It played in tune to the 24th fret. ):
Guys, great video. However, these are mainly jazz guitars. Technically a musician can play anything they feel like playing on any guitar but some instruments are designed for the best performance for certain styles. Like Ted Nugent brutalizing Gibson Byrdland guitars; makes me want to vomit anytime I seem him with one. Along with that, if playing with a pick the treble/tone needs to rolled off a little on both the guitar and the amp to give it a true jazz sound unless you have a tendency towards a more country sound. These are good for that too. I own a 2001 D'Angelico NYL-2 made by Vestax of Japan before these models from Korea hit the market several years ago. The Vestax models are considerably more expensive. I think I paid around $3000 for mine. These Korean made ones sound and play very well but not as well as the Vestax models. But for the price, I can't think of a better choice if you need a low cost quality jazz box. Possibly an Eastman but those have gone up in price too. Anyhow thanks for sharing.
I completely disagree with that just use a wound string on your G. I've never ever had tuning instability on any of my guitars and I also use 9-42's on all mine, even my Les Paul. A proper setup will correct any tuning stability issues. I also do tons of bends across my playing styles that I do live. I can go usually about 2 hours before seeing any natural string detune just from bends as I play. It also matters how you tune up before you play. Most people when they turn a string down to pitch forget that you are releasing tension behind the nut and must detune further past correct pitch, then tug the string a bit to tighten the tension back on the peg, then tune up to proper pitch. You must do this anytime you go past proper pitch, otherwise you'll have slack and your first bend will pull that tension free and that string will be out of tune. It's proper guitar setup and proper physical tuning that makes a guitar stay in tune. Not the hardware or the strings.

I’ve been missing my daily dose of Anderson’s. I know these are basically long form advertising but what can I say. It’s enjoy.
Hey, people used to watch those old 'QVC' 'Home Shopping' network TV stations all the time too! And Pete is JUST as entertaining as the Sham-Wow guy!
Same!

You enjoy them so much you didn't even notice the store is called Andertons, not Anderson's.

How about now? It’s been a year. Does it stand the test of time?

I just bought the Throwback version of the EXL-1 at $2,000. The Premier version at $450 is a phenomenal deal.

Whew!
I was wondering if something bad had happened or someone was ill. But, good news, the studio is getting a reno!
I think I've bought the last available Champagne one from your stock - it'll be with me tomorrow.
The instruments look stunning!!!
Beautiful-sounding guitars! Very affordable, too. Really like the turquoise color.
Agreed! 😍
Pete made Turquoise Blue the best sounding color on the internet today.
About the guy who plays guitar with his fingernails, you were talking about Matteo Mancuso, he's incredible.
Barney Kessel and The Poll Winners Three albums has the best jazz guitar performances. Ray Brown and Shelly Manne make the three. Or Sean McGowan for modern jazz players.
Bro! Thank you for turning me on to this! Incredible!

Finally.I’ve been pestering you guys to review more Dangelico stuff.Check out the Bob Weir Bedford.
I've always wanted a jazz box. I guess I'm signing up for a Roland Jazz Chorus while I'm at it. Oh, dear.
I am a simple man. I hear the captain's lick. I hit like.
THE CAPTAIN'S LIKE!
remember punk rockers, jazz boxes were the original single-pickup guitar...
Intro jam is sick
Love that green colour
I like watching and listening to Rory Hoffman play. Blind, plays "upside-down" and on his lap.
My dude can’t even read tab. He’s not a real guitarist like me.

Pete just have the smoothest feels ^^
Is their deluxe 175 good for jazz too? Planning on buying that.

I'm a big-body guitar player. 6'4 300 lbs.
If I was to change my strings one at a time, how would I clean the fretboard? I use fret oils and such.
The headstock looks like the end of a wizard's staff where the magic shoots out.

Ok, live the guitar but just how do you remove the plastic under the floating bridge?
Loosen the strings and the bridge moves
So how was the amp set up. (EQ)?
Beautiful Guitars 👍👍🎶🎶🎸
Are they enormous or have the Captain and Danish Pete been out in the rain and shrunk, they look the same size as a double bass!
They are very full size 17 1/2 body
Any of these in colours not reminiscent of a 1950's fridge 😘?
A Rick beato and you guys would be cool
Perfect guitar for all the Amy Winehouse licks.
Haha love that
pete do a slinky jazz album!!
Beautiful guitars that are bigger than Pete! Just sayin' Pete. I mean, those things are huge!
If Pete wants to come play outside my office I'll even let him borrow my purple Tele and DP40... I'll even buy him a coffee or lunch
My lefty D'Angelico was stolen off a truck with a half dozen other guitars before it reached the warehouse.
