I commend Matthew for being able to keep a straight face during that whole conversation with Keyleth. Seriously, I can not watch that without laughing every damn time!
I worked at a small store, where all kinds of people would come... people who knew exactly what they wanted, and people who couldn't decide on the color of their shoe laces. for these people,.... I developed a very thick skin.
@@Arkatox Did you even watch the video…? And if you're wondering why I'm replying to you three years later, blame John R. _He_ replied to _me_ three years later, thereby bumping the thread, but at least he got the joke. Unlike you.
I think as a DM it's easy to play jerk characters, just recall how often the wizard doesn't know what he's doing when it comes to his turn in combat. Props to Matt :)
I was hoping Grog would come flying in with an axe and chop the tree in half Then somewhere in another plane of existence the TF2 engineer screams, "Sun-tree down!!"
Grog ended up eating that fruit, and apparently it makes you not want to leave Elysium, if you fail the Wisdom Save. Anybody know what the Wisdom Save DC would be?
Nina Ianni that's what I'm hoping for sense Grog rolled a 13 on it. I think 10 is the same dc for mental effects in other planes, so I'm hoping it's the same. Any higher and Grog's gonna have trouble making it.
I know that. I'm simply saying something with that much shade in its heart surely doesn't belong in Elysium. Its like having a super asshole in Christianity's version of heaven.
To cast or throw shade means to make a snarky, jabbing remark meant to offend. In this case it was a pun using the literal definition of shade (i.e. cover from light) as a double-entendre.
At 2:45 you can see the precise moment when Taliesin came up with his line, and how proud he was of himself for it. And we are proud too.
Omg that's adorable hahaha
East coast sun tree vs West coast sun tree
Underrated comment
Matt's face when he says "I'm a tree of the sun." It's like the most epic New York 'Fuck You' of all time.
3:39 - Taliesin Jaffe, ladies and gentlemen!

And thus Beau was born!
Damiën Smidt lol
That time when you have to think "So... What kind of accent would a tree have?"
And then 2 years later you find out the accent of crabgrass
As Sprigg said: You don't talk to a Sun Tree, you listen to a Sun Tree.
Kashaw is the equivalent of a Natural 1 amiable tree
Amicable.
They're synonyms.

@@TheRealMichaelH I apologize for what apparently went over my head 3 years ago. :P
3:39. Not gonna lie, that was a damn good joke.
“Hey sun tree bro. Are you a sun tree bro?” XD
is this kashaw in tree form??
so kash does grow on trees
"YEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!"
foolbright w Wonderful
Taliesin‘s one liners are as always top notch
This tree definitely casts some shade :D
The encounter was not without profit. We now know there are ley lines between Whitestone, Berkeley and Queens.
Natural 1's on information checks are the best!
The voice of the Sun Tree, so good. Puts me in mind of Miracle Max from the Princess Bride. 🤣💖

Best Character Ever!
All hail the shade tree
This is the Whitestone Sun Tree's disappointing brother who never lived up to their parent's expectations.
As a New Yorker, we hereby declare Asshole Tree an honorary citizen
YES... I loved dick tree, we need him as a recurring character :D
2:13 best part
I think you mean 3:39
This. This is good dnd
Natural ones aren't all bad.
Kashaw Tree
Percy with the verbage! Poor Kiki, lol!
I have found my new favorite Percy one-liner lmao
Kashaw Tree! I love it

Maybe I like Natural One Tree even better than Sun Tree, and that is saying something.

Cade Escobedo I think it's 10

Cade Escobedo do you think that if grog succumb to the plane and didn't want to leave, mom pike could overrule it?
Yeah, when it comes to those environmental effects (Especially ones that can end a character or game) the DC is set between 8 and 12
Nina Ianni definitely Mama Pikes mom look breaks all curses, charms and mental effects
Best NPC ever
Shade tree is best tree
Matt is correct, "Amiable" is the better word choice
My one and only question: How the hell did this tree get into heaven? (the positive planes)
That is where they are from, Pellor put the sun tree in wightstone presumably from these trees around he's home.
I know that. I'm simply saying something with that much shade in its heart surely doesn't belong in Elysium. Its like having a super asshole in Christianity's version of heaven.
xMaly28 Lol
I think normally he wouldn't be so shade-y but Keyleth rolled a nat 1 so...
xMaly28 Well if you where minding your own business doing suntree things and a mere mortal comes up being rude and treeist you would be nice?
That tree sounds like Kashaw
I cant believe its been three years
If Chris D'Elia was a Sun Tree.
i think i need an explanation on that shade joke... xD
Just leaving a comment, need that too, pls :)
(not a native speaker...)
The phrase "throwing shade" means talking trash about someone.
To cast or throw shade means to make a snarky, jabbing remark meant to offend. In this case it was a pun using the literal definition of shade (i.e. cover from light) as a double-entendre.
