    He is correct because RC brings legitimacy to the Pivot with his analyst skills and he's a great lead. Channing provides the comedy and Fred will come with questions that take things deep and add another element to the interview. They fit perfectly.

      Well yea B Marsh def should've been able to recoup his initial investment. As a friend, I'd say well I'm not taking anything until you get all your money back. Once that happens though, the split needs to be 3 ways or whatever it was. BUT if this just were stock they'd continue based on initial investment. That's where BMarsh has a point. Of course each of their celebrities has value etc. But, BMarsh probably would own like 80% lol.

    • @sallykneetree
      @sallykneetree ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree. The financial stuff is tricky. Brandon took all the financial risk, so yea he should of gotten a higher percentage of the profit. They should of just given him back like three times his money or whatever the value of the show was and then start from scratch and split it all evenly.

      Yeah thats where I agree with BMarsh despite me thinking he was the weakest member of the OG IMATHLETE pod. I don’t believe in equal equity. Just because there are 4 people involved doesn’t mean everyone gets 25%. You either put up the capital for ownership or you ask how much your sweat equity will be worth in terms of ownership. If none of that is situated and you start getting paid for your services; unfortunately, you’re an employee. You can always get independent valuation for new value once you have the believe or capital to invest. Have to remember, the ones who take the biggest risk usually take the biggest reward. Let me tell you when this podcast, I Am Athlete, came out during Covid-19 it was geound breaking. Having these amazing players who experienced the game in distinct ways- Reggie Wayne, Ocho, Channing, Freddy T, and B Marsh helped me understand so much for the game. B Marsh definitely after first 2 seasons segwayed into NFL affairs and his wife's clothing line, which is fine but how we handled his partners was not cool. He showed many narcicist ways and I understand why they had to move on.

    In my opinion, Fred and Channing has similar a mentality about business which I think is not correct. You get paid a profit for what you own (equity) and you get paid a salary for what you do (the work). Fredy and Channing wanted to come to work as a speaker and wanted to get paid for owning. This is cool, however, there is more to a busienss than just coming to speak. There is marketing, sales and operations. So if you are coming to speak, just like I am, but I am left handling the other areas of the businss, and I put up more money, then how is it fair to split profits equally? Under Sales, Marketing and operations, there are the following just to name a few items: hiring, firing, promoting, video editing, production, the vision of the company, how do we make revenue, what do we do with the revenue and profits, future guests, guest managment, coming up with a structure to paid everyone, handling risks, etc...
    Also, even if you put up more money than me, I can bring more value to the busienss because I may have more connections. So when Fredy says, hey let's split things down the middle, that is a very basic way of doing business and someone will also feel like they are doing more. The biggest issue is they all didn't sit down in the beginning and discuss all the details and potential point of agreements. Also, when you bring disrespect into the equation then the money and all that talks goes out the window. It seems like B Marshall brought the disrespect in and I respect Fred and Channing for walking away.
    I hope that they can have a sit down and talk about these things because money should come inbetween the brotherhood man. It was sad to see, but both parties are at fault here and it seems like Fred and Channing are still operating like spliting things is correct and not taking these other things into consideration. Everything is great, when you not making any money lol, but partnerships usually fail when the money starts to come in and all the items have not been talked about AND the partners have different philosophy of how things should go. Every partnership has dis agreements, the partnerships that last are the ones that know how to work through those disagreement and no contract in the world can solve disagreements. With the right partner no contract is needed, with the wrong partner, no contract in the world can keep ya together.
    These are just my thoughts from watching both sides talk covertly about it lol.

      @sean.taylor ปีที่แล้ว

      Typically, if you are not getting paid upfront in a startup, you are paid in equity (ownership). That's standard.
      They didn't get paid upfront and they were a part of the core product so it's a fair assumption.

    • @bellymus1
      @bellymus1 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think the point seems more valid for Channing, it sounds like Fred/Marsh reaffirm he was talent, paid salary and cool with it, same as Ocho. However, Marsh and Fred both affirm Fred putting in and wanting Equity, now the AMOUNT of equity was the negotiation. If they let lawyers figure out, maybe salvageable, however what everyone who watched them all could imagine, in seeing Marsh be the LOUD and WRONG guy, how can you negotiate with that. He also appears to have selective memory/outrage, so for Channing who knows what he also might have promised him (equity) beyond salary. In hindsight we are better off for it, IamAthlete was 1.0, the Pivot w. RC is 2.0. RC being the new QB of interviewing and what he carries is MUCH better than Marshal trying to QB
