Wish there was a whole album with songs just like Libera Me sung by the same boy choir. So haunting and i couldn't imagine a more fitting song to be weaved through this movie. From the opening titles, to Claudia's vicious death. I'd buy a whole album of songs written and sung in similar vein of Libera Me. if that's a hint to the powers that be that might be thinking about something new to produce.

They made a sort of sequel Queen of the Damned based on A rice's third novel in the series. Was awful. The TV series of 'interview' might progress the story on to the later novels, if it stays popular
The interesting part about this film (and more broadly the work it comes from) is that, before I saw it, I would have never conceived of myself enjoying, what was to me, this silly gothic-style film with, of all things, vampires. Yet, this film was played so straight and done so well, in its production, cinematography, acting, and with such a compelling soundtrack, that it completely changed my perspective on this type of subject matter. I think it just proved to me that having the courage to be sincere with your premise and ideas and take risks, despite the initial petty judgments of people like me, is very important in any medium. I observe that there is now a lack of sincerity in a lot of areas, not just in entertainment or cinema, which means you get people using irony and sarcasm to hide behind (which is not a knock to sarcasm and irony more so how they are being used) in order to avoid having to put themselves out there in a way that carries the risk of being hurt. It's easier to undercut everything with a joke than it is to let some of the heavier aspects of life settle. This isn't to say, however, that we cannot have levity and laughter. But there is a matter of degrees to this. And, If anything, laughter, and sadness are not that far from one another.
