What a great video to wake up to. Absolutely love Makita, especially their xgt line. The charging stations seem great for storage too. Just wish I could attach them to my packouts 😂 I do really like the new Makita boxes, but I’ll stick with my Packouts with drawers. But still, pretty cool 😎 Love the framing nailer and the COFFEE ☕️ MAKER! C’MON!! I will say this about the event. I really like the tool reps a lot more than all the corporate cutouts in their early 20’s fresh out of college. That gets a little annoying after a bit. Good job Makita 👍👍 A strong two thumbs up for that alone. Great job Vince. Thanks for the content.
The tool I'm most excited for is the impact driver. The ring light is so amazing and I always change the speed setting with my hand on my XDT16, that won't be a problem with the controls on the rear. I'm going to get the XDT20 the day it is released, on preorder. Three or four huge quality of life improvements, smaller, better AVT, better light, and better control ergonomics.
Great job Vince!! Love the new MakTrak System, it’s nice to see Makita open their doors to Social Media they are very guarded and don’t normally do large social media events. You should’ve checked out the Oil Impulse Impact Driver still one of my faves after all these years.
surprised makita had an event like this good to see hopefully they start investing more in the north american market them and bosch have so many great tools that we cant get here
The tool box system certainly is different, but in a bad way. I think it would've been much smarter for Makita to just do a full drawer tool box system and go from there. Have a three box all drawer system with detachable dolly where you can put any box on the bottom similar to Rigid 2.0 and I think you'd have a system that people might actually think its worth the trouble to switch to.
@@skolsaw1080 some would, they do look good on video but I’ve got a a lot invested in Milwaukee Packout already. Makes it difficult to switch, also there may be limited availability in the USA
YES! Now that might work. It would have to be a hefty discount tho, My TEAL tools sure fit those RED boxes great. Plus I have RED boxes that Makita doesnt even offer. Its a saturated market with a lot of happy people. Better revise the price scale. They need to realize the American sales is rough with all the Bidenomics hard at work.
Most people don't know that Makita has been "made in USA" for a long time. The main assembly plant is just outside of Atlanta Georgia. I always wondered why they didn't advertise that fact.
I like it. I am an all packout guy. But there are so many strengths to each platform be it Flex, Modbox, or Toughbuilt. This seems like they took inspiration from the packout “coffin” box and went from there. I do love the charger insert pockets that is a nice touch. I think there will be huge room in the aftermarket for any system that can allow putting one system on top of another. I think as far as bit storage goes I think Klein Knect is a real winner.
Im makita and spent over $2500 in milwaukee packouts. Before they made the drawers ive sold most of them off to most coworkers i have 2 rollys 1 xl 1 medium 1 small. Going to sell them off. I want the makita!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just to roll out most used tools so ill just have 1 makita rolly box
Vince seems like a great guy. Thanks for the video, always loved makita but I'm all about my Milwaukee m12/m18 power tools and tstak/versastack and tradestack boxes! I invested in tradestack after watching you run their boxes over and throw them off the roof and they survived😂😂. It's been over a year leaving them outside and they are still kicking ass
I love makita, all my tools are makita but those boxes look very cumbersome, even the makita rep was struggling to click the boxes together, they didn't seem smooth at all.. the tough built system is just so easy to latch together imo.
That wasn’t very thought out to put the boxes sideways like that because soon as you pick up the handle, all your tools are gonna smash down to the bottom
@@wildcard3942 I got the large rolling packout and it ain't to much of an issue. I stack my other boxes on it similar to the makita. I do have foam and DIY dividers in all my boxes though. My old Stanley rolling did have that issue.
One issue I see compared to the competition is the way the units attach to each other. In every review I’ve seen over the last couple days people and even the makita spokes person have trouble aligning boxes before clipping in. Where others in the competition like stack pack or tough built have self aligning and look much quicker to attach and remove. Makita might have gone with this attachment system because it has other trade offs like a stronger connection in lieu of ease of use but at first glance seems a little dated.
