You made a good choice she's beautiful . I used to have a Dun mare to and I also owned a great great grandson of the famous wimpy he was a stud and he was fantastic and beautiful. He was very gentle 4 stud. I used him for a lot of breeding and pleasure riding I even rode him in our Christmas parades and did a lot of racing with him he was very fast. He was the kind of horse that would rather die than let another horse get in front of him . he was a fantastic horse and I wish I still had him but that's been a long time ago in the late 70s. Hard to tell just from these clips, she seems to me a headstrong calm. She composes herself quite well despite the stress. Of course, this is just a fraction that we see and she might not be headstrong and composed at all and might be her true colors wont even shine through just yet.
Pretty amazing, nice work. I have no education in horses but curious why another trained horse is not used in pen next door for wild one to learn from?
Obviously, she knows what she’s doing and she wasn’t using the “stick” as you called it to harass the horse. I was surprised the horse wasn’t spooked by all the noise of the equipment.
I love your training method it is helping me with training my horses maybe one day I can get a mustang too. Also I think a beautiful name for her would be Zoe pronounced Zo she is drop dead gorgeous and VERY smart I think she is going to be a fantastic horse

I don't know anything about horses so this is a legit question..does wild mustang mean that horse was running out in the wild before this and was caught or something?
Hi! This horse had been in holding for 3-years. Prior to that, she had been in the wild. With an increasing wild horse population, resources have become limited. When a certain herd area runs out of food or water, they gather the horses so they can feed them in a contained pasture. It also helps slow the population growth down... there's currently 60,000 more wild horses than the appropriate management level. Programs like this one, the Extreme Mustang Makeover, help get these wild horses gentled and accustom to the domestic life :)
@@summerpottruff9217 listen to it again and listen to it all then you will understand its not at all what you think... i feel like you saw it and paused it and commented.

Honey Mint Hey! I wasn’t sure what to do for this video... I was thinking about muting it but decided to leave it. My next videos won’t be even near as noisy :)
I'd call her Jasper or Jasmine for her color. Or Lana she reminds me of a lion and a star. Or Pia, I just like the name. She has kind of an exotic eye...
Serious question because I don’t know that much about horses but is she overweight or is this what you want? I guess I was expecting something more skeletal for a wild horse. It’s a testament to their good treatment I guess! Thanks for educating horse ignorant folks like me.
She looks like she’s a good weight, for an untouched horse this is fine. If she were already being ridden for a while before this, it would be a little concerning but that’s a normal weight for a horse that hasn’t been touched.
Jessica Spaid hey! I actually like when they have a good amount of weight on them when I pick them up- it means I can get right to gentling/work with them without worrying about them losing too much weight from stress :) I really like her weight though.

so intelligent. Lovely head.
Sunscreen!,......great work with the horse too
Pretty amazing, nice work. I have no education in horses but curious why another trained horse is not used in pen next door for wild one to learn from?
That really only works works if you have an adult and a baby
I got my eye on that horse, when you were picking up 🤗 what did you name it😊
👍 That was beautiful. Thanks for sharing. ❤️
A woman with a stick harassing a horse in a small pen. Horse looks confused no clear direction given.
Obviously, she knows what she’s doing and she wasn’t using the “stick” as you called it to harass the horse. I was surprised the horse wasn’t spooked by all the noise of the equipment.
She's an interesting color, looks like a champagne. That's got to be pretty rare in the wild.
I've been riding horses since I was 5 and love them with a passion, and I got to say this was awesome to watch. 10/10
She was a very nice choice!
She is so smart and well mannered! I think she's going to turn out amazing!
love the video
lol looks like you're gonna need some Aloe vera for those sunburns
I love your training method it is helping me with training my horses maybe one day I can get a mustang too. Also I think a beautiful name for her would be Zoe pronounced Zo she is drop dead gorgeous and VERY smart I think she is going to be a fantastic horse
How can people get involved in training or buying mustang makeover horses?
Great choice Sam. She is so sweet:-) Marion
Did you name the mare 🐴yet ?
She is such a pretty mare. I was wondering how long do you work with them each day.
P.S. Love your videos you inspire me so much to also work with mustangs someday
I was wondering the same thing
@@summerpottruff9217 Actually thats a pretty big "stall"😂 how is that to small?
Jenna Clark Hey! I’ll answer this in another video :) but I do short frequent sessions. I’ll try to get an exact number for the next video!
Hannah Hanimals I didn't say 'stall' also do you specialize in standing up for to small spaces I'm starting to think so...
@@summerpottruff9217 Actually im not!😁 I dont like small spaces or stalls where a horse cant move around. That horse can move around plenty. Have you ever seen a tiny area people put horses in which is discusting. This area is only temporary like she said.
Will you keep her? Lovely horse
No
I know you said this pen is too smll for your taste. What size pen do you prefer for them? I know I've seen your other videos, but don't recall off the top of my head. Thanks!
Rebecca Cox hey! This is cool for her to hang in while she still isn’t 100% gentled, but I don’t prefer to work them in this size pen. I like a roundpen, around 40-60’ in diameter to start them in. Once their gentled I’ll work them anywhere and they can live in any size pen/pasture!
Ok so I’m just wondering, but what are some really good tips to training a horse?
put the horse in a river and hold onto the halter the horse isnt going anywhere and will be broken very quickly
I love you channel
How did you learn how to do all this training with horses
Is that stick from Clinton anderson?
I feel like the name Webb is very fitting
Nice job! Do you plan to stay in Texas for awhile? Where is that place? I hafta wear longsleeves, cap, and sunscreen or I turn into a lobster...
Smart girl with a great thinking mind!!
Hello Sam. I have a question for you or whoever. I have a horse that rears he just started under the saddle but this is I don't want to thing. Is there anything I can do to stop him? In all my time I have never seen someone stop this stupid action. So if you have anything that I can try please help
How about Lila (short for lilac) for her name? Pronounced Lie-leh or kinda like Isla but replace the i and s for L and i
looking a little crispy there girl might wanna double up on the sunscreen
Why didn't you start this video after you finished building the mustang pens?
Do you get to bring them home to train
So what color is she? Buckskin? Beautiful horse...very good choice in my opinion
not a buckskin a chestnut
@@beverlya6338 Interesting- she didn't look like a chestnut to me, but maybe the lighting was just off
@@beverlya6338 pretty sure she's buckskin.
Buckskin
She is a very smart and beautiful mare!!! You guys are goimg.to.do amazing!!!!
Hi mam❤💖💖💖❤❤ Hannah I want to join in your horse journey plz🙏 in I'm a boy Zayed from India🌺 I'm still single and good human I'm 32 year I'm really very excited for your support💪💖
Where did u get ur stick from
I would also like to know.
OMG Sam is a complete badass! 😀
You look exactly like my horse trainers sister or her that’s weird but cool by the way great job and yes I’m late
4th comment 5th like, shes so cute i also love your training methods
You shouldn't...
@@summerpottruff9217 why?
Jaylene Hopwood because they are a little abusive in that small pen!
@@summerpottruff9217 its not abusive listen to what she said she wanted them in a bigger one and thats just temporarily.
@@summerpottruff9217 listen to it again and listen to it all then you will understand its not at all what you think... i feel like you saw it and paused it and commented.
I love the video! Maybe you can figure out how to mute the audio so sounds aren’t and issue and voice over? Just a thought I know it takes a lot of time :)
Honey Mint Hey! I wasn’t sure what to do for this video... I was thinking about muting it but decided to leave it. My next videos won’t be even near as noisy :)
Pull away quicker even if an ear twitches. Round your shoulder. You might get a quicker response.
Your doing well with her
Sorry if this comes out mean or rude) Are you very tan or sunburnt
Both! Lol
I'd call her Jasper or Jasmine for her color.
Or Lana she reminds me of a lion and a star.
Or Pia, I just like the name. She has kind of an exotic eye...
Oh my goodness you got so sunburned! You okay?
Laura Starling my Florida skin isn’t used to the Texas sun 😂
@@SamVanFleet haha yeah Oklahoma and Texas summers are badddd.
Serious question because I don’t know that much about horses but is she overweight or is this what you want? I guess I was expecting something more skeletal for a wild horse. It’s a testament to their good treatment I guess! Thanks for educating horse ignorant folks like me.
I was wondering the same.. or if she accidentally picked up a pregnant horse lol
She's actually super chill.
I've worked with some 'rideable' horses that would have absolutely lost their minds with all that noise going on.
