    4-5 years from now we'll have a good window for the cup if everything goes well. Adding Demidov definitely improves the odds. Demidov and Slafkovsky playing together just makes me salivate lol

    Slaf got where he is because of Suzuki. With a team that thinks like this we can’t lose. Shows how fragile it is between success and failure.

      Slaf had a good season he’s only going on his third year and he improved a ton sure it’s a bit risky but the cap is only going up and you got to believe he keeps improving at least a bit more to at least a 65 point player which he will then be worth the money. But this has the potential to be a steal slaf could be a 85-90 point player and a beast in the playoffs

    As a Quebecer I feel people forget just how much less money players make playing here. Yes, 7.6 millions sounds like a lot... But making this much money here, they get taxed close to if not more then 50% of their income.
    On top of the RIDICULOUS taxes, they have another additional "Athletes" tax. Caufield, Suzuki and Slafkovsky would have way more money in their bank accounts with 5mil contracts in Florida/Texas.
    These guys want to bring the cup back to Montreal, and they're literally paying out millions in paycuts to our government just to achieve it.
    Love em' all, ajd wish we can get a healthy Dach and Demigod similarly themed contracts

      It can't be as bad as you're describing. Also, they do pay taxes in Florida, when they're in away games, but yeah, overall the taxation is quite ridiculous for retaining sports athletes, but then again, the rich should be taxed heavily.

    I don't think just because he's played against Demidov means he's met the player, he's probably fully aware that he's played against him, hense why he gave him compliments.. not every player knows their opponents when they play against each other

    Signing a bridge deal and then a big contract is about the same amount as this in the end. This makes more sense. That way we can distribute the salary over time and get more players.

      After the bridge he would ask for more. Kent was an agent for many years if theres one thing he should be trusted with its contracts

    Gallagher and Anderson are useless. ??? They make a little less then Caufield and Suzuki and slafkovski.

    • @jeffreynoury1637
      @jeffreynoury1637 24 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Gallagher will most likely be bought out in 2026 before his final year of contract. In the meantime its all about seeing what the team can do with what they have. Still quite few years before all our young players get NHL games under their belt and get a bit closer to their prime. 80% of our team is 24 and under, including the ones who havent even played in the NHL (Rainbacher, Demidov, Hage, Beck etc)

      We still need some veterans even if they produce less you need some experience on the ice/ in practise to teach the newcomers.
      It's a kind of balance until they mature up.
