With those steel fixers end nippers, you can use the curved face of them against the post & pivot down & stretch the wire tie tight then twist it up tighter.
I think the thicker wire through hole and winded around is better for the fence. The Thicker wire through post will last longer and be just as strong as a 2mm twist. Also can reuse the thick winded wire if repairing or relocating fence. Your way is better for the contractor tho as you say wink wink
An excellent video. Viewing from Ireland. Do you make the posts or buy them? Are they painted or protected for rust? Any idea how thick the steel is? Thanks again for brilliant video.
Glad you enjoyed the video! We buy these posts, and the thickness varies from the centre out to the edge of the post, it also depends on the manufacturer.
Hey Glenn 200mm for me every time. I find them lighter, more nimble to use and if I need to cut any thing bigger I use the cutters. Don't be shy about touching up the cutting edge periodically to keep them in top shape and cutting well. Cheers Steve
We have another video on how to tie off to the strainer post which is the same method for barbed wire, only instead of tightly wrapping it off, just wind it along less tightly. Check it out! th-cam.com/video/xtjXSX3ADHU/w-d-xo.html
Thanks Mate! Just what I needed to know!

Hi Steve, the Knipex nippers you use are they 280mm or 200mm long? Thanks Mate.
