- Demonstration of interesting vocal capacities of a lyre bird as seen at Healesville Sanctuary. This one was a bit of a show off considering they are very shy. When it started to do the kookaburra sounds, it was really hard to stay still and not laugh from amazement. Incredible creature.
Wait for him to learn phone notification sounds and start screwing with folks.

zosh shine I can imagine that!! That would be awesome!!
zosh shine beatbox
I love this bird's concert etiquette:
1. [sounds like everything]
2. dignified poise
3. give silence while audience absorbs performance
4. one last camera shutter for good measure
5. flap off stage left
Did it witness a laser battle?
+VenomistGaming Haaaaaaaha
i laughed so hard the second time i watched it after reading this
VenomistGaming Star Wars
Some kid probably had either a video game or toy gun near it, bird thought "Oh hey that's different, this will get the attention."
Yes.
The fact Lyrebirds can mimic not only others animals perfectly (kookaburra 0:29) but artificial sounds (pinball paddles 0:39 and toy laser 0:45) is fucking amazing. It's like they're straight out of a rpg or something
0:43 did he watch Star Wars? o_O
*lol* Kinda like the "Death Star Trench Run" done by the Lyre Bird. "Bird, use the Force!"
i guess he listen only a game gun sound "th-cam.com/video/JzHhn2WtwYU/w-d-xo.html"
xD
Yea... *gets hitz* OWWWWWWWW MY FA CE wait he choped a space in the word F CE!!!!
Aya cant imagine if this bird hears this gun sound and all different sounds from it LOL
The kookaburra imitation was perfection. Amazing bird.
Can someone get this thing to actually mimic the seinfeld theme?
"this thing" xD
Cave story I see you
lol just play the audio in front of it
LMAO HAHAHAHAHA 🤣... That video was edited my brotha. I fell for it to, but later realized it was edited. LMAO! 🤣

Thank you!
0:32 That's freaking high score sfx in 3d Pinball. XD
+SAHATHAI74 Holy shit, you are absolutely right--that's what the Lyre bird was imitating along with the pinball bouncing around! The power of Microsoft Windows XP games!

Hate to disappoint lol, but that's actually just the call of another bird here in Australia where these guys are from.
was this bird watching Star Wars through a house's window?
This is the coolest bird ever. *__* found my favorite type of bird now. Thanks TH-cam.
Maybe I should buy one for eh?

Agreed
How these fantastic birds can imitate sounds so perfected is utterly unbelievable and remember it perfectly.. This bird is way more talented than i am. I feel like i owe these birds some money after such fantastic performances.
You can pay me. I’m his agent.
He reminds me of that guy from Police Academy
Michael Winslow, and if he doesn't love these birds, I'd be very disappointed
Carlos Costa hahahha we tought the same thing XD
Need to schedule a world tour for this guy. He doesn’t need any of the gimmicky auto tune or backing tracks. A true superstar.
Nature's dubstep artist.
Imagine if it just made quotes from South Park.
Omg I just spat out my water

Steve Zhang 😂😂😂Right? Haha
Lyre birds seem to be the most accurate of the mimics. Makes me want to hear one play back some really famous guitar riff.
Damn, this bird got serious bass drops.
Not only is the lyre bird a wonderful mimic, he also has a beautiful tail (in the shape of a lyre) which he displays when courting females
Mother Nature has a sense of humor
I want a pet lyrebird so I can play it jazz records all day long while I'm at work, and then come home and hear the bird spitting the sickest riffs.
When I heard 0:43 I was like HOLY SHIT, I LOVE THIS SPECIES. Imagine all the cool stuff you could teach him.
What an incredible bird.
It sounds like it's making Star Wars sounds
how tf can it whistle with no lips.. i can't even whistle with lips :'(
Like every bird does? 😂
Although they use their tongues like us to convey language, a hand full of birds have very complex throats, specifically their syrinxes. It produces sounds without vocal chords. Just like a parrot, it can use air flow through the syrinx to create it's whistles and chirps, sometimes mimicking human voices too! I can only imagine how complex this bird's anatomy is!
Extra Fact: Birds have an elaborate eyes as well, and can see colors that the human eye can't see, or that the brain can imagine!
Extra Extra Fact: A majority of dinosaurs are scientifically proven to be more related to birds than reptiles based on their bone structure! So that means, almost all dinosaurs had feathers! They probably made all kinds of sounds, and where giant colorful creatures that roamed the globe!
@@capel7662 actually the only dinosaurs that had feathers were anything that was close to the velociraptor
@@mimied6058 well many paleontologists now believe it's much more that that, such as those in the Tyrannosauride.
@@BirbBoiYT what about dinos on four legs
Great vocal cords and memory. Roll out the red carpet.
they ought to play Daft Punk over load speakers and see what the bird can do
Just love this cutie bird. Nice to have a variety of special things in this world
What??? O_O

These guys were responsible for half of the original Star Wars sound track

Then a random guy starts whistling poorly in background, Lyrebeatboxbird notice and looks over to him thinking 'c'mon dude get the f out here...'

If I can make all kinds of sounds like these guys, I wouldn't stfu either.
This bird is awesome!
Just love these guys.
We all know that Australia is the craziest country on earth, but this bird just takes things to another level...!
my grandmother im mexico used to have one i think one day some kids played it some sort of electronic music or dubstep because for weeks he was jsut walking around playing music lmao.
Many birds mimic, but this one -the lyre bird- is only found in Australia
Lazor birdy.... FRACKING AWSOME
The black cop in the Police Academy movies had a poster of a lyrebird on his bedroom wall when he was a kid.
THIS IS SO COOL!
Pfft, show off! Haha. What an amazing creature
This puts new meaning to sounding off!

Then the law can't have any corruption 😆🇦🇺
Who knew that birds love video games too. Lol.
He's so good he mimicked a human whistling badly.
now that is one epic little birdy :v pewpewpew~~
Shame one couldn't have one of these guys as a pet. Oh, the sounds we could teach each other.
Well, I heard a camera shutter, an ambulance siren and a few Star Wars-style laser guns in that one!
Awesome and unique! Greetings from a nuture's lover from Germany living in Sardinia/Italy, SABRINA

Yes, this bird is mimicking voices. Birds have voices. Not just humans. This bird is mimicking a kookaburra, magpie, etcetera, voice.
Thanks lots. :)
That's so COOOL

Bird.exe has stopped working.
This guy seems to be a mascot. He seems to be the only lyrebyrd featured in these videos.
Sounds like a storm trooper!
It is having fantastic memory 👌👌👌
Wow emezing
that, believe it or not, is one of its natural mating calls haha.
feels like this is a pet skrillex would want.
Allegedly, locals in the area where bird is native are frequently annoyed when this bird mimics their cell phone's ringtone.
This bird is fucking awesome.
That bird was spitting lasers
The bird of a thousand sounds. Surely it must have something powerful to make multiple sounds crept inside its larynx or voice box or whatever bodily-functioning organ it has to produce noises as real as those. Very interesting to learn about the many species of birds in the world.
If a lyrebird mimics another lyrebird, and this goes on 1000 times, will we see a decline in sound quality?
Just imagine walking in the woods and the shot on iphone song starts playing
This is the most inappropriatly named bird. It always gives away where it's been and what it's been doing. This one has been hanging about with the kookaburra down at the arcades and setting off car alarms for a laugh. Should of been in school I told him that kookaburra was a bad influence. New name......the dropyourselfintheshit bird ok confession bird then.
I wonder how this bird would react to someone singing. One day, I was singing with my grandma and, a moments later, we heard the parrot of the neighbour repeating it.
Hipsters: "Totally derivative. No originality at all."
They must let those thing run around like Peacocks. Wish my zoo had some.
I have been fooled by a lyrebird making a kookaburra call unexpectedly while I was bushwalking, but then I realised the call was coming from ground level, which kookaburras would never do.
He just likes to hear himself talk!
Sounds like the one on David Attenborough's show.
:) smart bird
Blast Skrillex at night and enjoy the sweet sounds in the morning.
wow this Lyre bird did the sound of some kid playing this game blaster shooting off nice.
Someone was watching Star Wars around this lyrebird. That was clearly stormtrooper blasters and R2D2.
all hail the dubstep bird
imagine that bird dancing like a robbot an then a mimicing a robot sound .. lol
What would happen if BlackPanthaa came here and went ELLOOOO! and the bird replied with the same thing? For the rest of that bird's time there, people would forever hear Theo yelling ELLOOOO! and it'd be hilarious XD
0:44 This ting go Skiiiaatt, and a koo koo koo puh roomp.. poom, poom.
0:41 the BEST bird noise EVER! :D
Obviously it watched Star Wars. Duh.
