      Most want to hear the over-complex term that is "Racing simulator" or something like that.
      A game is a game, regardless if it is a simulator or not.
      Then again, the simulator category has been abused the last few years, especially on mobile devices. "Goat Simulator" can (just barely) get away with the sim title as it contains physics very close to that of real life, so it technically can squeeze by. But games/apps like "Dragon City", "My Singing Monsters", "Jurassic Park Builder", "Wolf Craft", etc. should be banned for abusing the category.
      (I love how Google contains a "multiplayer simulation" category. MULTIPLAYER IS NOT SIMULATION GET IT STRAIGHT DAMN IT.)

    The Cadillac runs in the Pirelli World Challenge, in the GT Class to be exact. Up to I think 2012 they had their own regulations, but since 2013 on top of those they also allowed for FIA GT3 cars to enter, which is why the Cadillac (despite not being a GT3 car) is very similar to GT3 cars :P

      I remember reading one of the drivers that Turn 10 Studios interviewed, Andy Pilgrim, who drove a CTS-V for the PWC.

    The "National" car is basically a slightly de-powered previous-generation NASCAR car. They're used in the K&N Series, which is under the big three NASCAR touring series (Sprint Cup, Xfinity/Nationwide, and trucks). An oval car that you can actually have a lot of fun with on a road course is the Late Model, which is a short-track oval car that's running about 350-400 horsepower. The LM is still going to corner like a house compared to something like a CTS-V, but with the right setup it becomes incredibly fun and surprisingly forgiving to just chuck into corners and let it oversteer around a little bit. The LM at a fast track like Watkins Glen is awesome.

    Alex the whole point of a skip barber "f2000" is to test young drivers car control as it's a learning car

    In general, the circuit racers have some benefits like extra gears and grip which made them friendlier on the test track, while the oval racers, despite having power and straight line speed advantages, their extra weight, 4-speed gearbox, size and weight hinder them especially at the corners.

    you can fix the f2000's over-steer problem by giving it an ALMIGHTY WING

    Alex, the F2000 gets a bit oversteery when you go off throttle. Try and trail brake and when you feel it lose a tiny bit of rear end grip, just get 5% throttle on to keep it in check.
    Nice little test, i think you could've done with more practice but that would've consumed a lot of time... a lot :D

    "bit oversteery" Weight transfer. Learn it, and the F2000 feels like it has near infinite grip.

    • @Chilcix
      @Chilcix 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Braking and turning is a bad idea in it as well, once again, weight transfer.

      @ias2424 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      ***** its a good thing if you learn trailbraking. By doing so, you can rotate the car better into the corners, so you can in turn brake later

    The Cadillac is a GT 2 car which typically have less horsepower but better cornering and GT 3 cars have around 500 horsepower on average

  • @dylandaugherty2380
    @dylandaugherty2380 9 ปีที่แล้ว

    Just saying. The Cadillac in the video is not running any more. It ran in the Pirelli World Challenge series in 2011-2014. In 2014, it ran with gt3 cars. This is why Cadillac has made a gt3 car.

  • @DDS029

    Andrew, I don't run iRacing, so I'm not sure of their naming convention, with possible rights usage of series names. the Chevy you ran for how you descibed it would the xfinity (cable TV and internet provider) Series. The "B" series, so as to speak. The Ford was Sprint (cell phones) Cup Series. (Although next year it will have a new title sponsor. Front runner right now seems to be Kroger Grocery store chain. They can get their suppliers involved to help pay some of the load, like menards, Target, and Aaron's did for example)
    Gen6 referred to the 6th major developmental change (generation) of the car, in NASCAR's history. If they were using the same naming system the cars would be considered Gen7, maybe even Gen8, today. One of the generations tried the "almighty wing". Fans hated it.

    I just think you're having trouble running mid/rear engined cars. You're better off learning how to run them now because once you get the Ruf RT12 you won't have a chance.
    Just be a little more gentle on turn in, (dobt throw it in like a front engined car) and they really shine putting the power down on exit.

      Josh Kirby The European version of Nascar has a tonne of regular circuits such as Brands Hatch, Le Mans and Nurburgring GP. It's awesome to watch! Also, Richard you are correct (at least for Euro spec Nascar). They are 400bhp.

    The way the ranks are for oval racing
    Late Model
    NASCAR K&N Pro Series (East/West)
    ARCA
    NASCAR Camping World Truck Series
    NASCAR Xfinity Series
    NASCAR Sprint Cup Series

    • @DDS029
      @DDS029 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      You're mixing sanction bodies and independent tracks when you refer to Late Models. "Outlaw" and ARCA style late models would smoke a NASCAR late model. They are lighter, offset chassis, no HP restriction, just engine size, running a single 850 Holly carburetor, better aero, wider tires, for example. The CRA-Jeg's, and the ARCA-CRA are similar to each other than the Jeg's series run crate engines. While the ARCA- CRA lafe models run "open" engines. then you have the ARCA Midwest tour late models, which used to be the ASA Late model series. Other regional sanctioned types, and a myriad of independent tracks with their own late model rules.
      Then NASCAR KNPS only thing in common with the ARCA Racing Series cars are the same composite bodies. ARCA bas their own engine, ignition, and fuel injection systems in, the ARCA-ILMOR 396. So ranking by generic names, after the three NASCAR Touring Series, is kind of futile.
