I had an R4 about 25 years ago, it was a brilliant and entertaining little car. There is nothing like this now.

Was my first car. We had so much fun with it... and in it.
My father had an R4 when he was young. He told me that he went everywhere with him and he always fixed it. no doubt an incredible car!!

Feels like driving a real car, now days everything is automatically done by electronics. Some times I miss driving manual vehicle. Shifting when I want.

We had a 4GTL and a 4F6. Both were early ones with the original style dash. They were great cars and the van got abused horribly, the only vehicle to come close was a 2006 C15 that I had for the first nine years of it's life.
Spacious for its size, very comfortable, practical, flexible, economical, easy to service. It's STILL all the car you'd ever really need.

A classic, if taken care of, will start no problem.
My old Volvo 240 starts right up in the winter, despite fooled injectors, bad warm up regulator and a messed up mechanical injection. Im looking forward to fix it (need parts). Cant wait to see how fast it'll start once sorted out
Especially with a New alternator and spark plugs replaced

Still a very usable van for a small business in my opinion. I'd certainly drive one about for my business.
No power assistance yet the steering seems effortless, just one of the reasons this car is legendary.

@@julienbee3467 Aún hay muchos. Aquí se ensamblaron desde 1970 hasta 1992. Actualmente hay muchos clubes y varios talleres dedicados a conservar estas máquinas.

Listen to that old bad boy creak and still work. The interior, as basic and simple as it can get, not even a rev meter. And that has to be the most interesting shifter I've ever seen. Never seen one that you slide in and out of the dashboard to shift.

The noise is totally normal, not even from the age, the r4 or the f4 was absolutely not soundproofed, the seats were squeaking, the steeringg wheel as a kind of squeaky plastic ring joint, same for the shifter stick.
The shifter stick is just an horizontal rod going through the dashboard straight to the gearbox wich has the real stick protruding vertically.
You could pressure wash this car outside and inside. There was drain plug on the floor inside. ( And the windows system used is still my favorite, because you can put your arm outside without fully opening the window)

Bien pour une moderne, tableau de bord de r 5 c'est la voiture idéale avec la 2 cv pour profiter du peu de routes agréables qu'il nous reste.

I learned to drive on a 1999 daewoo matiz 0.8 liter 5sp manual with 50ish hp. on a good day also depending on what u ate that day
The Matiz is very modern and well equipped compared to this one, so whats the point?
It has the same twist & push parking brake lever as most Toyotas.

Ce n’ai pas une 2 cv on tien pas le pomo de levier de vitesse de cette façon 😢😢on pose la pome de la main sur le haut du pomo et on tourne le poignet pousser tirer ect 🎉🎉 et une question que veut dire F 4 ou F 6 sur ses modèles de R 4 ?
Belle voiture ! On n' en voit plus beaucoup sur les routes et la votre n' est pas très bruyante. Les F 4 ont un freinage assisté ? Cordialement.
