Hi Trottie a big thank you to my fitter Adam and Taylormade UK. Since changing to Taylormade my handicap has come down from 22-15 and as I put a card in every round it hovers between 15-18. I’ve had a few sub 90 rounds a couple of 86’s but today shot a record 83 (par 72) netting 64 and 44 points, not too shabby for a senior 74 year old. Now do I change from my bag of fabulous Stealth clubs and go QI or P790? My ball was Tour Preferred.
I remember going to CC to get fit for amongst other things a superhybrid. Strike was bad and kept telling him shaft was too much work. He put back on rack after 4 swings. Bought it anyway because i could tell the head was going to work. With a stock shaft, it hits exactly the carry and spin i was looking for.
Trottie, I was just fit into some PIngs, but the fitter convinced me to wait for the TM P7CBs and hit those against the Pings. Any news when they're coming out?
Hi Trottie, started learning 5 months ago, busy dad of 3 but trying! Been on the course only 6 times, but having lessons etc. too soon for a full fitting or keep learning?
Are you striking it consistently and hitting similar shot shapes and heights? Have you broken 100 yet? Are you unusually tall or short? I'd focus initially on lessons and then once you have some consistency you go club set
Dang Mr Trottie!! I went from the Qi with the 85 max shaft ti the 790 with the tour lite and this is making me rethink the shaft! I gotta get to the KBS studio!! And I got a question for you I've got the Qi max 10.5 with a stiff standard TR 5 blue shaft. I'm consistently around 280 ish with the driver and can feel the little bend/whip of the shaft. What driver KBS driver shaft would you suggest? I'm 38 and have a decent strong swing speed not sure the exact number but with that info do you suggest a certain shaft? And I play my driver at 44.5 if that makes a difference
KBS Proto then I'd need your speed numbers to give you the Category but you're gonna be close to a 5 and then tipping would be dependent from there. That's if you wanna go KBS. Why'd you play 44.5?
@trottiegolf I feel like I have more control and I didn't lose much distance if any since I find the middle of the face alot more than with a longer driver...I had previously just had an m2 cut down and the last couple were standard length drivers and with it being a little shorter I just feel like my control is wayy better...that new QI at 44.5 is as long as any of the guys I play with and they've all got standard length drivers
@trottiegolf I custom ordered it from taylormade and asked and they said they would get it as close as possible but suggested a #14 weight for the heal instead of the #2 that was in it
@trottiegolf ao I finally had a chance to go hit in a bay with a qi max 9.0 with the x stiff low flight shaft I can't remember the name but I asked for the 10.5 and the tr x and that's just what he gave me and my swing speed is constantly around 105and that was just picking the club up with no warm up and just hit about 15 shots but I had trouble woth that head and shaft I'm use to the 10.5 and the 44.5 inch shaft and I hit It all over the place! My attack angle isn't what it should be but I tee the ball up high to get the high ball flight like I need I've got to go get back with coach but with a 105 swing speed which kbs do u thing would fit me the best? I'm working like hell with the weights and balls to get it back up but that's it for now hopefully I'll tell u in a couple months it's a 110-115! But the gamer is hitting fairways I just think there's a little more out there and really fell in love with the kbs proto hybrid shaft and I love the looks! But If u think there's something else out there that will suit me better I'm all in on what u think...the TR 5-s is what I'm in now so with that info what do u think?

Dave is a great fitter. Love that he focuses on the swings and then goes to the numbers to verify what he sees and hears.

Just got C-Taper lite’s for my first brand new set of irons. I may never switch out of them
I really like the KBS Tour 130 xsriff with the satin finish. Feels & looks awesome!
