@@mansa1212 Its such a cool detail! I don’t play Kingdom Hearts, but I do play Genshin Impact, and they use chess pieces as symbolism in that game as well! It’s a great metaphor, and it fits in perfectly with the life series!

Thank you!! I have always been very fond of the Watchers since EVO and when Martyn brought them back for the Life Series I was so happy! First frame showcases "Canary in a coal mine" and then the "canary in a cage" the strings are like pupet strings these deities are toying with him!
Yea ik he was second out but at least he wasn't first out and Jimmy was a very happy boy when he saw that Lizzie was out first. If I could relate to what my reaction first was to Jimmy not being first out, it has to be the surprised pikachu face meme. And I've never done that face before.
So to start with I adore the pictures of the winners. Grian with a bruised face and hand, with a wing he had time to patch before the fist fight that got those. Catch some sorrow on his face, but also confidence. Scott the most "normal" of the bunch, very much looking like a warrior/fighter type, a much more neutral expression. A frown, but not overly intense. Pearl's wings are sick, and of course Tilly looks great. I feel like her right eye is more intense while her left is about to cry. Which makes sense considering how she won. Then bloodstained Martin. While the rest have some signs of fighting, with Grian's face and hand and Pearl's face especially, he's the one where the blood is most prominent, with Grian almost tucking the bloodied hand so you can't see how much blood is really there. Sick design without it, with the coral and all that, but his expression is the only one that says he's purely happy he won. And the blood tells the story of how he got it, moreso than anyone else's. He's the most proud of his win, and the blood it took to get there. And while I'm at it, very inspired drawing them all from the back during the song. I love the implication of the Watchers not wanting him to win, and perhaps even wanting him out first that starts with Grian finishing him off from Last Life and turning into one briefly. I know the Enderman is kind of just like that normally, but it sharing the purple with the Watchers carries that implication well too. Speaking of: The shield crumbling under its assault is perfect. The whole Enderman scene feels very well-done. Very frantic, and Tango eating with tears like he knows where it's going and can't do anything else is good! The flashes to him caged and held back by the Watchers is very good, very emotional. I really enjoyed him covering his eyes in their presence. It definitely gets me. I loved it all. Just figured I'd mention particulars of how. And just to stress it again, I really do love the winners' pictures. Not sure why I especially like Scott's, but I do. Anyway, good job and I hope all your newer projects are going well!

I drew the first 3 after double life and then added Martyn in after Limited life and will be adding the next winner after secret life whoever that maybe. I really tried to nail down the expressions on them, so thank you for noticing ^^!! That artwork alone took over 13 hours!

(I know he his shield blocked his water bucket)

To me not really, watcher!Grian is a thing, Joel and Grian laughed at Jimmy’s limited life death, canon is canon, man. So many animatics had them distressed or crying at Jimmy’s LimL death and I was like what if I made them smile/laugh at his death like they actually did I did say people were free to interpret the non canon events as they wanted to with it, so up to you if he’s a bad guy here >:) (or a bad boy)

I like the idea that Jimmy is a rebel, like Lucifer/a fallen angel. Everyone plays along with the bloodshed, but in 3rd Life, Jim avoids killing people. He is the first to die and overall wholesome. Slowly, though, he is getting more and more cruel. He's killing more people, and he performs better in the game when he does. However, performing better in the game isn't necessarily a good thing, as it means he's falling more into the Watcher's game. His "decay" really began in Limited Life, when he worked with Grian/Joel, the two most deadly players.
Super late reply, but that's a neat idea of him and I love the idea of him "decaying" the watchers have their eyes on all of them, but with Jimmy they seem to like him as an easy target. As the Canary falls, it's a call. The canary curse of course is the call that death is coming after he stops singing.

Can I just mention that the purple for the watchers around the clippings of Jimmy’s wings when he falls is so smart!!! Like, That’s so creative, I love that so much!! I love this whole animatic to be honest, it’s so pretty!!

To me not really, watcher!Grian is a thing, Joel and Grian laughed at Jimmy’s limited life death, canon is canon, man. So many animatics had them distressed or crying at Jimmy’s LimL death and I was like what if I made them smile/laugh at his death like they actually did
I did say people were free to interpret the non canon events as they wanted to with it, so up to you if he’s a bad guy here >:) (or a bad boy)

The headcanon of mine covered here is every perma death causes him to become more and more canary until eventually ending up one entirely, as well as the Watcher's void/limbo, The watchers in my headcanon are some type of enderman species

I like the idea that Jimmy is a rebel, like Lucifer/a fallen angel. Everyone plays along with the bloodshed, but in 3rd Life, Jim avoids killing people. He is the first to die and overall wholesome. Slowly, though, he is getting more and more cruel. He's killing more people, and he performs better in the game when he does. However, performing better in the game isn't necessarily a good thing, as it means he's falling more into the Watcher's game. His "decay" really began in Limited Life, when he worked with Grian/Joel, the two most deadly players.
Super late reply, but that's a neat idea of him and I love the idea of him "decaying" the watchers have their eyes on all of them, but with Jimmy they seem to like him as an easy target. As the Canary falls, it's a call. The canary curse of course is the call that death is coming after he stops singing.
